The leggings he drop are nice if youve got a bunch of other +1 armor with you.
When my pld was lower most of the mobs didnt even do a damage, so the -3 EVA

Was sitting at the spawn point reading through about NMs in the ghelsba area, when I roll back to FFXI to see Hundredscar Hajwaj sitting in front of me. First thing he did was use Mighty Strikes. Got off one hit on me for 15 damage before I pwned him. Dropped Coarse Leggings, not what I wanted. >_>
I want the Wild Cudgel, because I am going to try that in the offhand of my NIN for the 20 HP bonus, and maybe some club skillups. (I'm Tarutaru)

Saw him for the first time today. Soloed him and his links easy 20MNK/10WAR. Just a a warning, if your a fairly low level, he does two hour with Mighty Strikes

Hmm this NM used to pop every hour on Bismarck server last year.
I try to camp this NM on my character on Carbuncle server and it seems like it doesn't want to pop! Right now I'm camping it and it's been over 3 hours. I'm probably just gonna leave it since the drop sucks anyways...was just looking for a screenshot to take. ;)

Solo'd at lvl 15 MNK. My first NM :D Got leggings.

this stupid orc never pops. i kill every orc in the entire fort and nothing. what in gods name do i have to do to get him to pop.

does anyone know how often this nm pops? wild cudgel would b a nice add on to lvl club skill with. like equip it on a job that doesnt do alot of damage anyway, thief or something, just to lvl your combat skills

Honestly, this NM is not worth the effort, or should I say lack thereof that is required to kill him. The drops suck, and they do not get a decent price at the AH.

Very true. I was messing around with my 17PUP and saw this NM sitting there doing nothing. I sent my puppet to smack him and 2-houred right off the bat, since I wanted to make sure I would win the fight. He went down quite easily, I'm sure I didn't need to use Overdrive since Activate was ready and I could have just thrown a fresh puppet at him.
Got a Wild Cudgel, and got all excited. When I got back to Jeuno, I saw that it only sells for 3k. And they apparently take forever to sell, too- only 1-2 cross the AH a month on Sylph.

allright, i really dont recommand u kiling this thing. th wild cludgel sux, only high lvl's could use it for a joke! and the coarse leggings, cantbe used for much, other than for aa war to build TP faster, by getting hit more. i think the coarse leggings are worth more than the @(#&ing wild cludgel! but, they say they aren't...

m k so im with my friend and hes helpin me get the ghelsba key right? so i go check to see if this dude is here and sure enough hes sittin right there i run up attack him kill him and his possy that spawns by him and get drop. Im thinkin YES WOOT LOTS OF MONEY FOR ME! then i get back to the san ah and look up price history and see its only worth 2k -_- as u can see im quite pissed

Heres my encounter with this guy: I was omw to the burning circle to help someone with their mission 2-3 dragon fight. As soon as I enter fort ghelsba I hear some guys yelling for help and someone zoning a BIG train of orcs. One of those orcs looked rather large and had a weird weapon...and I noticed the name, Hundredscar. Being the poor Dragoon I am I quickly high jumped him in hopes that he would drop something useful. He didnt die from the jump so I decided to switch targets and kill everyother orc that had been trained(there were like 8).Kill em all. Then move back to Hundredscar he used Mighty Strikes during the fight, but still couldnt hit me. I had just gotten 100 tp prior to switching and decided to stab him in the face with my lance. He got owned. Hard. So did all the other orcs, I made about 200 gil total off killing them all and got the Coarse Leggins and the Wild Cugdel(thankyou Treasure Hunter). Sold em both and made about 6k.
Okay, whats the deal? It says hundredscar is lvl 11-13. I stumbled upon this guy while farming with Monk lvl 14. I mistook it for a fodder not paying attention and got owned. How funny is that a lvl 11-13 orc owning a lvl 14 monk. whats even worse, when i checked it during the fight, it said its strength is impossible to gauge! I suggest a re-evaluation of this NM!

Most NMs work this way. They're almost always tougher than their level would suggest. The level is determined by the amount of exp you receive once the mob is defeated, and I've found that (generally) Alla is correct.
...all NM's check as "Strength is Impossible to Gauge!" It doesn't matter if it's 50 levels lower than you, it will check as "Strength is Impossible to Gauge!".
As for the fact that you got "owned" is that NM's are stronger than regular mobs, and though it's level 11-13, you should be soloing it around 18+ or so.

i was PLing a pt of 3 (eventually 2 cause the galka died), came to the pop point, didnt know he was there and BAM theres an NM. he was the first NM i ever soloed. i was a RDM18/WHM9 at the time, an elvaan, and left me with about 35 HP. i had to run after i killed him cause right at the end 4 orcs linked lol. lucky me he didnt use mighty strikes...dont know why, but he didnt. i got the leggings but no cudgel.

i saw this guy only once when i was level 13. this japanese girl and i pted against him and killed him. he dropped a spear called an obelisk or somethng. this was months ago and i was very new at the game i only fuoght him cause dnd tknow what impossible to gauge meant lol. but the japanese girl asked me for the obelisk or whatever and i gave it to her cause it said you had to be bst to equip it. i havent seen him since.
