General Information

• Spawns when a player in possession of the Purple Abyssite key item rests in range of its current location in the zones of Beaucedine Glacier, Beaucedine Glacier (S), Xarcabard, Xarcabard (S).

• The Purple Abyssite will shatter after Lord Ruthven is popped. There is a possibility after Lord Ruthven is defeated that the player that popped it will obtain the key item Black Abyssite.

• Will immediately despawn after all individuals with hate on it are defeated or leave the zone, and will despawn two hours after it is popped if it is not defeated.

• Lord Ruthven's HP bar will not be visible normally in battle. However, for a brief period of time after using Dirty Breath, its HP bar will appear.

• Immune to Blind, Bind, Paralysis, Sleep, and Gravity. Resistant to Slow and Elegy.

Eternal Damnation

• Bloodrake: Frontal cone AoE HP Drain effect.

Heliovoid

• Decollation: Frontal cone AoE physical damage.

Dirty Breath

• Eternal Damnation: Frontal cone AoE gaze Doom effect.

Minax Glare

• Heliovoid: AoE Status effect drain.

• Nosferatu's Kiss: AoE HP and TP Drain effects.

• Wings of Gehenna: AoE physical damage with additional Knockback and Stun effects.

• Dirty Breath - Frontal cone AoE magic damage with an additional "Curse" effect.

• Unlike the regular Curse effect, the Curse from Dirty Breath is a harmful status effect that prevents targets from being cured or from being able to recover HP or MP by any other means.

• Minax Glare - AoE Gaze attack with additional Terror and Defense Down effects.

Historical Information

Lord Ruthven is a fictional character. First appearing in print in 1816, he was one of the first vampires in English literature. There is a genuine title of Lord Ruthven of Freeland which is a subsidiary title of the Earl of Carlisle in the United Kingdom. The fictional characters are not related to the historical title holders.

The first fictional Lord Ruthven appeared in the 1816 Gothic novel Glenarvon by Lady Caroline Lamb. This character was based on the genuine Lord Byron and was not a vampire. Lady Caroline was a former lover of Lord Byron's and the novel did not offer a flattering portrait.

Lord Ruthven appeared as the titular character in the 1819 short story The Vampyre. This had been written in 1816 by Dr. John William Polidori, another acquaintance of Byron's. It was published in the April 1819 edition of the New Monthly Magazine. The publishers falsely attributed the authorship to Byron. Both Byron and Polidori disputed this attribution.

His character is one typical of the gothic genre and vampires in general. His vampire character is alluring and sexual, but is also linked with horror and supernatural terror.
