The people who have gotten a 70-80% drop rate either are fibbing, or they had TH in their party. I've been duoing these for over 4 hours now and only gotten 2 NQ, 1HQ and a tissue. The rate is approximately 10% if that even on 2nd tier Phuabos.

I have now seen an Om'phuabo drop two organs in 1 kill. I've seen this four times now.

I now have 2 stacks of Phuabo organs (and I used 7 on my Rairin Obi already) and I have only gotten 5 Tissues total. The Tissue drop rate is really bad.

Yeah, I went to duo with a rdm who needed organs as well. The first one dropped 2 organs, so we were psyched, but then we went about 5-6 kills without a thing, then 2 in a row, now nothing for a few.

The drop rate can be fairly random for these, but its not real bad.

Cross post of mine from Phuabo Organ thread...

Quote:

A Blm friend of mine wanted to do some Duo'ing... So, we headed out to Sea (Al'taieu) to kill a bunch of Om'phuabo's. He said that the best xp he's gotten was out in the far western seas. So, we headed out there and started killing..

To my surprise, the drop rate for Phuabo organs in the "shark tank" was like 70%-80%. It was crazy. We probably got an organ every 2 or 3 kills. (Nothing interested about the moon phase either.. around 41%) Both of us were Blm/Rdm.

A Blm or a Rdm can solo these. The strategy is exactly the same as farming elementals in Sky. These even have MP you can Aspir.

I'm sure a Bst can solo these as well.

The Ul'phuabo hang out towards the southern end of Al'Taieu. The Om'Phuabo hang out towards the northwest and northeaast sides of Al'Taieu. The Om'Phuabo seem to hang out in pairs, but do swim away from each other.

Picture shows Niviakian soloing one^^

The Ul'phuabo are EM to T (to a level 75) and give 110 to ~165 xp when soloed. The Om'phuabo are T to VT (to a level 75) and give ~165 to 300 xp when soloed. Either can be killed in about 5 or 6 Thunder4 spells (which, for an Elvaan Blm, does about 1050 damage)

Organ drop rate is pretty bad.. maybe 1 in 20+. Tissue drop rate seem even worse.. maybe 1 in 30+. ...but I haven't been keeping careful track of the drop rate.

These also seem pretty "blind" then you're hunting them. I have to practically step on them before they would pop up out of the water.

EXP Bonus

While checking as a VT, these mobs give exp as if they were IT. Very nice to solo a VT that gives 300 exp without having to rest. >.>

If you are soloing a Mob that is VT...it will give you that kind of exp because you are not factoring in party member exp reductions.
