I really want all my awesome Dark Knight armor......well except for boots. I'd rather keep my lvl 30 RSE boots tyvm. Too bad boots was a prereq. And think im gonna stick with cuirass cuz it looks cooler then a haubergeon. Anyways, got totally messed up on this last one. Went with a lvl 75 theif to Beadeaux. got CS. Killed like 50 Topaz Quads and a bunch of others. got like 10 reraise scrolls and a bunch of auspice scroll drops but NO FREAKEN MAGE BLOOD!!!!!!! spent like an hour or two freaken insane. couldnt even get the first part done. spilled alot of blood but no blood :(

SummaryOne of Gerwitz's weapons is running amok. You must go to the place where the Crystal Lines converge, use the blood of a powerful Quadav to lure it out, and then defeat the evil weapon that appears. WalkthroughYou must have completed Dark Legacy - DRK AF1 and Dark Puppet - DRK AF2, and activated Borghertz's Shadowy Hands to obtain this quest. First, set your job to Dark Knight and head to Beadeaux. A cutscene should occur where Zeid will tell you that the Power of Darkness is starting to get out of control. You need to collect one piece of Quadav Mage Blood. These are dropped off of Topaz Quadavs in the same zone. Note: If more than one Dark Knight is doing this quest, you only need one piece of blood and everyone will receieve their AF after the upcoming notorious monsters have been defeated. Once the blood has been aqcuired, head to Middle Delkfutt's Tower. On the seventh floor, use the teleporter at J-6. You should end up in a small circle room on the sixth floor (J-6 again). Buff up and be prepared for a tough fight. When ready, trade the Quadav Blood to the ???. Gerwitz's Scythe, a weapon-type NM, and two Scythe Victim skeletons will spawn. Recommended strategy:
It is also very risky to trade in the blood. Your HP can go down very fast. Make sure that the healers are alert and cure this person before the tank can get the hate. Me and my friend managed to duo this.
We went as: RDM75/NIN37 and SAM75/NIN37.
We didn't have any problems, I (RDM) tanked the weapon and cast bind on the WAR as the SAM took out the BLM. When he killed the BLM and attacked the WAR and killed it as well. When he was done with that he charged right in to the weapon and WS'd his *** off with Meditate & 2hr.

Just an FYI, you do not actually have to defeat all 3 mobs, just the main Scythe.
We wiped after defeating main mob, got drk raised after they depopped, and he still recieved the CS and the helm

Just finished AF2-5 in about a day and a half mostly solo....
75PLD/THF and then hunting coffers with DRK/DNC DNC is awesome for AF Coffers ^^ oh and setup on this fight was overkill 75PLD (me)

didn't even plan out any stradegy pretty much ran in there spawned and killed. first time we had a bit of a different set up with me being on my 58drk instead but after farming the second blood and getting a party like that going it was np. all of em dead within 2 min at the most.

Severely underestimated this one. It was Me(DRK64), a PUP60, and a PLD72. Guess what happened. we got one victim down to about 80% before we wiped. Now I have to go farm the blood again.

Can the blood be farmed as THF? Or will it only drop if you're main is set to DRK?

I decided to try and solo this as RDM75/BLU37. I managed to kill off the BLM skeleton, but I lost because my MP got aspired to zero right before my second Convert. I managed to use a warp cudgel and survive. Now I will have to farm the mage's blood again. :(

I had Cocoon and a tavnazian taco up, giving me 660 defense, which helped tremendously with making Stoneskin last. The BLM skeleton loves to spam ancient magic, but he can be silenced. The RDM weapon cannot be silenced. I made the mistake of trying to kill the BLM skeleton first. The RDM weapon's attacks seem to have a random chance to Drain or Aspir you. So, when I was readying my second Convert, the RDM weapon's hit Aspired my remaining MP to zero. I had no yagudo drinks or hi-ethers, so I knew it was over. I donned my warp cudgel and got the hell out.
For you other RDMs out there, I recommend bringing two emergency hi-ethers in case your last slice of MP gets Aspired before Convert, kill the RDM weapon first and make sure to keep that BLM skeleton silenced.

I'm a DRK59/WAR29 but for some reason, all the tanks on my server fear this mission. Is it because of the skeletons or the scythe? I'm not sure, but whatever the case may be, If you're on the Caitsith Server and have anything close to balls in the tanking department, a little help would be appreciated! send a /tell when you get this!

Dont mind my last 2 post i got my AF helm in the weirdest way lol i went to the pos for the fight i said ***** it so i zoned to try to skillup club outside of the teleport i said not no i thought my wireless crashed cause iw asnt moveing then i started the cs so i got my helm w/o a fight lol btw cause i fought the weapon and the weapon died but i hped so i thought i wouldnt get the helm lol so im a 59 drk only 1 lvl away from wearing my fresh new-helm

So, did this and theres enough posts here i feel the play-by-play is unnecesssary, however, i did this quest at lv60, and soon thereafter lv'd to 61, where i decided to do G4 just to get it out of the way. The result, i got my Cloud Breaker title, but i would like to keep the Paragon, although i have no idea where the brd is to get it. I have checked low jeuno and bastokmines, but to no success, so if anyone knows, your assistance would be much appreciated. Doesn't help when Zeid, the giver of the quest, in essence, doesnt exist -.-;
Popped with sneak and the DRK got aggro from all 3 immediately.
Still won (75 NIN, 74 RDM, 60 DRK, 2x healer NPC).

I was wondering if a 75 thf could solo this and if by starting the quest with drk i can then get my af with thf.
I have capped marksmanship and 272 eva.
Will i be able to tank and kill all these with my equip?

Okay so we go into the NM room and the plan is supposedly to pop the NM, the War vokes the Weapon, and wait till the skellys Depop. Well, the DRK with the blood pops the NM and the skellys automatically start raping him and everyone runs around like chickens with their heads cut off. The War vokes the Weapon and everyone gets thier bearings and start whacking the Weapon as well. Party members started dropping like flys, but the Weapon slowly but surely started to die. Finally, the Weapon bites it and we start to take on the skellys. Its not lookin good for our party and the Skells start pulling out Blood Sword and that AoE drain attack crap. When the War went down i knew we were dead. The party wipes and the War HPs and comes to raise us all. We zone out of the room and we all get our helms (the Drks).
So, long story short, as long as you get a high lvl who isnt afraid to die and a few 60s you can take on the NM and get your helm. Everyone will most likely die but I believe its worth it for the helm. As long as you kill the Weapon you WILL get the helm. Note: Do not HP or tele out of the NM room before you zone out and get the helm.

Well I did mine last night, and here was my party set up. 60drk, 75nin, and 65rdm. Well we went to get my mage blood, and it took about 3 hours so i sugjest taking T2 to help with drop. So we went to the tower and got in the room, we had built our TP up to 300% before I traded the blood to the ??? But when mobs spawned i dropped into red in about 5 sec. Rdm kept me somehow alive but got hella hate, and he soon died. But by that time the ninja had some hate for all 3 mobs. So we managed to kill the weapon, but I soon died after weapon dropped, and soon the ninja had to 2-hour because the victims had drained him. So I was bummed out. But when I got raise and exited the teleport, I got a CS and got my helm! So moral of the story, if u dont mind dieing to get the helm lol then do what i did and die for it. But remember that you must be raised and then exit the teleport to get CS. ~Winsor Carbuncle server.

can u start another Af quest if u have 1 started i did scythe and feet quest i started the hands quest so i was j/w can u start helm quest if u didnt finish the glove quest? please help me out .
One more thing anybody on remora server that can help me do the glove quest i need a coffer key and find the coffer im a 51 drk called dragongirl please help me out if u can?

As long as you have done the Dark Knight AF1 (Raven Scythe) and opened the AF Gloves quest (Borghertz's Shadowy Hands), by talking to Guslam and no more, you can do all the rest of the Dark Knight AF quests.

As long as you have the AF Gloves quest (Borghertz's Shadowy Hands) started, just by talking to Guslam, you can start this. Doing the AF1 (Raven Scythe) and starting the gloves quest means that you can do any of the others.
Went into this fight as a lvl 75 smn.... brought along a lvl 75 whm, 75sam and 75 drk...
After buffing, i spawned the NMs. They aggroed me, but carbuncle took some hate off. One of the skele's latched onto me, so I ran to the opposite side of the room. The SAM provoked one of the skeles onto him and moved to another corner of the room. The DRK and PLD fought the NM Weapon.
I had carbuncle tank the Skele that was on me... while keeping it busy, the pld and drk made short work of the weapon. Then the SAM finished off his skeleton. The entire fight lasted... about 4 mins. ;p Easy as pie. No sneak oil needed, no sneak spell... ^^ just separate the mobs and have a lvl 75 melee tank it... w/ a designated healer. ^^
Good luck to all doing their DRK AF Helm Quest. I got my Paragon of Dark Knight Excellence title, and i'm a lvl 50 DRK ;p
