In-Game TextDescriptionRomeo is a fanatic for recycling. He wants you to bring him 5 Onion weapons of the same type. I used 5 different onions for this 1
i gave 5 of the same item only for him not to accept it. does it have a time limit or am i doing something wrong?

i just did the same mistake as everyone else. :(
now that i know better i'm going to go back with five of the same onion weapons and finish this quest... the thing that i want to know is can i just buy them off the AH and trade it to him.. or do i have to trade the items off newbies... i'm not really too keen on creating char's just to delete them...

Something u could do is make a whole new character...5 times, and pocket their onion weapon (and Adventurers coupon, hehe). Just make sure u make the same type of char so that u get the sword, rod or whatever everytime to have 5 of one kind.

Is this right? I don't think you can make onion weapons...I thought the only way to get them was to either start the game or to buy at the AH or trade with a rookie. Should this be fixed?

You can only purchase those item from AH or trade from rookies
But be sure you only collect only 1 type....
this quest is not repeatable...
so dont buy more than 1 type of equipment from AH
This quest ended when you trade any 5 of the same type.

I guess I should have came here first. I tried to give in one of each onion weapon and he wouldn't take it. So now I have to go back to Windurst and get 5 of one kind. Either 5 Onion Swords, Rods, Daggers, Staff, or Knife. Just bring him 5 of one of the weapons not one of each it will be a wasted trip if you don't. Looks like other people have made the same mistake so I hope they update this quest.

I did exactly the same thing, i ended up throwing all of it away as i needed space in my inventory due to partying that day in the Dunes.

I just tried this quest with an onion sword, dagger, knife, staff, and rod, and he didn't take them. Therefore it is 5 weapons of the same type AND CLASS (ie. 5 Onion Swords).
nevermind, the post was misleading, His name is Romeo, not Romea.... 2 hours wasted....

Well, the ******* asked for 5 onion pieces and that's what I gave him 1 of each... Guess What, he didn't take it. Waste of time and money, so I spent money on different items only to be turned down. I read it 3 times and no where does it say he wants 5 of the same or that's what I would have brought him. I recycled all 5 pieces at his feet

anyone can help me out here would be great! i ran around selbina all last night, but I don't see this romea woman, all i found the closest is Romana the one in the weaver's guild, the one with daughter, does anyone her romea's grid location?

"of the same type" i knew i did somethin wrong.....>< i got 1 onion dagger 1 onion sword and 3 onion staves....DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME! =P

This poster on the 19th of December didn't read because I did this quest a few weeks before that and he very specifically said 5 of the same. Don't blame game makers cause u don't read.

As of Feb. 7, 2004, he does not say "of the same type," perhaps he used to....

He says five pieces of onion equipment, but he means five of the same type. I wish they would fix stuff like this as losing money and wasting time is not something I like to do.

Yes, if you bring him 1 of each kind of item (1 sword, 1 knife, 1 rod) he does NOTHING... I'm sure he'd said 5 pieces of onion gear, but it seems he said 5 of the SAME pieces. Now I have 5 rods, that'll teach me to read more closely :o

It adds 2 spaces to your storeage (accessible from your home-town Mog House). It also gives you Moghancement: Desynthesis .

Mine adds 2 slots. I got it with Onion Staves. Could it depend on the type of equipment provided?
It doesn't matter. The actual item only gives 2 storage slots.

Yep...it's 5 of the same type. So just pick ONE type only and get 5 of them. Now I have a nice pretty waste basket to stare at :)
BTW...buying them at the auction house is pretty cheap, usually between 10-80 gils each. Paying more than 100 gils then, well...you must have money to burn. Either that, or you are very generous.

Hm...I'll give that a try, but the travel between Selbina and Bastok is horrible without a Chocobo. Let you know how it goes.

5 onion weapons of the same type it says on the description, i have not done this but i guess if you deliver Onion Daggers, it has to be 5 onion daggers, not one of each.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I bought the 5 items listed at the auction house and tried to trade them to Romeo but he would not accept them...detailed help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing this means 5 onion swords, rods, etc, and not 1 of each kind. If you gave him one of each try giving him 5 of one kind. If you did this, nevermind, since I haven't done the quest yet. Maybe it has a level limit?

As of Feb. 22, when you accept the mission he says that he wants 5 pieces of Onion gear, he does NOT say of the same type. Why, I don't know. Apparently he used to say this, but now he doesn't. And yes, it must be the same type.
