If you're achievement hunting, here's what I was looking for.
* Immune to changes in attack speed
* Immune to changes in run speed (I assume also immune to root, but I didn't try)
* When pulled, his two assassin guards and the higher level mobs in the room will assist
* I didn't look at max hit, but it wasn't too high, somewhere around 300, I think

I was able to duo him at level 60 (Luclin era on TLP) with just a bard and druid, ~100 AAs and Luclin era raid gear in most slots. I was able to separate him by pulling to the Shadow Haven zone line, using a combination of Highsun and zoning to clear aggro, then zoning back in to tag and eventually get him by himself. It was a fairly long fight (not a lot of DPS with those two classes), but the druid easily kept the bard alive using druid-CH (Tunare's blahblah) and refreshing DoTs as they wore off. Epic click had to be refreshed twice during fight to give you a better idea of fight length.

I solo this everyday, with a decent geared lvl 71 BL and give the wep away to a new player on Drinal (Tarew Mar) if anyone needs it hit me up (Spiritslayor). It's such a simple fight, i just run in there and attack with a merc (If you dont have a merc you could easily just use the steadfast servant from your vet awards, and if you dont have a steadfast servant, then you could probably just tank and heal yourself and kill em, i havent really tried that yet, but i usually kill him with 100% Mana cuz i dont have to do anything but turn on attack and fight lol). My BL's gear is ok, nothing incredible, nothing horrible... A little over 16k HP / 2.1k AC buffed, 11k HP / 1.8k AC Unbuffed, 178 AA's. The mob is immune to slows and i'd be willing to bet he's immune to snares too. His little friends to the left and right of him jump in on the fight too. They hit me for a high of like 180ish usually, and yes, he drops the sword everytime. His DPS is WEAK, but he has a lot of HP lol. GL to anyone who is trying to fight him. Hope i helped

Fabled Ornate Sword of the General

WAR PAL RNG SHD BRD

Pretty crappy for a lvl 70 requirement. And Go Combine server, we can't even use it.

I am a 66 chanter, and wanted this sword for a new ranger i am making. this is what i did. With help of a 70bst and 70nec we zoned in. I used Dire Charm on 'a scound' that is outside building, then targeted General Jared Blaystich through the window (not necessary just easier as i am not kos) and sent in scound. i then backed off scound all the way to SH zone, and lowandbehold he single pulled General all the way there.. fight took less than 5 minutes even without cleric. Got my sword, and now don't listen to these posts. Good luck, just remember chanters rule all.
Spawn Time
# Mar 08 2004 at 5:22 AM Rating: Decent
The spawn time in General Blaystitch is 24 hours.
As per diffaculty of mob, a 65 paladin *nearly 8k hps with virtue* and a cleric were basically able to duo him, however a rogue showed up at last minute for added dps.

Strategy for pulling Blaystitch can be taken multiple ways, the most efficient way I have seen, is to take all the trainers and train them down the cave towards the fungus grove zone. You have 1 non kos person down near the FG zone, who will chain hail all the trainers, meanwhile, when they first pull the general you tag the general off the pack of them. Never failed yet. Sword is very nicely farmable for those low end guilds who cannot yet farm those uber swords in higher expansions.

the lowdown
# Jan 08 2004 at 1:17 PM Rating: Decent
approx. 60khp unslowable max hit 250ish with an average of 130-150 on a 65 SK w/ 1400ac and lr5/cs1/pe. not a particularly tough mob for an average 55+ group but he does put a strain on the healers mana bar cuz it is a fairly lengthy fight
2 box
# Dec 16 2003 at 9:03 AM Rating: Default
I killed this guy with a 65 warrior/cleric duo today. Warrior is 7710 hps with virtue and shield of the arch magi ( ornate bp ). Ornate gauntlets haste ( 30% ), 41% worn haste, 33 points of self ds ( ring 9 and chardok ring ), and 34 point cleric reverse ds were buffs. Max hit 267. Hits very quick, but cleric did have time to sit and med briefly between complete heals. Single pulled to the bottom of the stairs with pacify. Extremely long fight...had to refresh mark of righteous 5 times. I had used journeyman's walking stick to tash early in the fight and it had actually worn off when he was at about 15%. Cleric started the fight at 70% mana, ended the fight at 30% mana. Didn't try nuking so can't give any info on that. All damage was pure melee and ds ( would wager a vast majority of it was ds ). Hope this helps. Grats my anonymous ranger twink =P

The Way I did it
# Jun 05 2003 at 11:42 PM Rating: Decent
What I did was this:
we had a monk pull him and his 2 minions to zone in....chanter mezzed minions we all zoned
me not being KOS, I zoned back in
I told my group when it was clear and they came back in. We killed the 2 minions (they had like 7 plat each and I had split on so about 42 plat I guess)
well once they were dead...
Monk pulled General and all the 4 master guys in that room (4 or 3 cant remember). Anyways, Monk pulls em out and kites em a little. General got a little offpath and I tagged. I put my back against a wall so his UNResistable knockback would have little effect. Had only 1 cleric, also had a bard, another war, a shammy, and I cant remember the rest. Yea like Mugster said in previous post , once tash is on he's cake (yeah we had a chanter too hehe) Tashed him Maloed him and slowed him, then DoT's and stuff. only had one death which was other warrior. Took maybe 5-10 mins
thats all

Ya know what RIPS me off? when people post complete **** on these boards, saying, we tashed and slowed him, even though hes unslowable, is ridiculous. Please make sense before you post on boards, even though this post is like, 2 years late.
The easy way
# Jun 04 2003 at 3:13 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, we just finished killin this guy after several failed attempts. You will need a high level chanter with pacification spells and your normal group of pleyers, make certain to have a higher level war and a couple of CH'ers. Using chanter pacification, pacify the two seconds ath the front door, then have someone who is not KoS target the gnome so chanter can get a target on him. Then use pacification to pacify everything in the room except general. Once all is pacified, simply pull general to where ever you have set up and kill him. He was pretty resistant until chanter tashed him, then just about everything landed. He has a TON of HP, so plan on this takin a while.

KK, killed this dude today, I am a 57 warrior, and have 6180 hp buffed, Me, a 57 monk, a 64 cleric, and a 65 shaman killed this guy today. The pull wasnt too bad, the monk pulled the whole room out to the cavern, and fiegned, the shaman tagged the general solo. Was a grand fight, took 12 minutes hehe, this dude has a TON of hp, dont take him lightly
You cant hail him to keep him still at all, i tried =( he just kept walking
How we take him out
# Feb 18 2003 at 3:12 AM Rating: Decent
Our guild takes this guy out fairly regular. We pull just the trainers to the zone and have a non-kos person there to hail mezz them. We then pull the general out of the building into the open up the slope. Mezz the adds and kill the general. We gate/port out after to avoid the trainers at the zoneline.

Just took him down. Group was 61 cleric 58 cleric 54 ranger (mt) 63 mage (air pet) 55 bard and me 62 shaman.

I pulled all the trainers to the SH zone while the Ranger sat on top of the table invis. Once all the trainer had cleared and I had died (got rooted, resist magic a must)

Bard kept the Generals two protectors mezed the best he could. while the ranger and mage layed down dps on the general and the clerics kept the ranger up.

I invised back in from Shadowhaven ,to avoid re-agroing the slow walking trainers, to help spam heal in between cheals.

YaY! very proud night.) new guild took the general out, tried several Strats and got semi wiped 3-4 times. Me lvl 52 Warrior Non Kos fully buffed SoE a must, pulled him over balcony and back around to front of building, if you start running too soon you lose aggro on General, and end up with just adds at SH zoneline, had a raid member keep door open at all times and pulled to SH zoneline, where we had 5 people hailing adds, had a lvl 60 drood snare general and zone with me. As general returned we had a lvl 60 pally aggro and pull to camp, high to the left near training building <note> on one semi wipe we had him down to 60% then got a wiz add, make sure you keep the general high up the slope. We had 3 clerics on CH rotation and needed them General is unslowabe and hits fast and mid 250+, estimated 50k HP, try and get healers KEI'd before fight, on about the 4-5 attempt we killed him,./cheer advise a min of 3 dps if not more. sword went on roll to our 40+ warrior sorry not sure of lvl, who did a fine job keeping door open on pulls.<very important> faction takes a big hit and will effect further kills as group members will no longer be able to hail split due to being KOS, so I guess new strat will have to be found.

Slace lvl 52 Warrior

Torv

Good luck to those that try this kill.)

by killing him what do you mean? group , raid ,or solo? im assuming that he summons so he would be very dificult to solo . as for a group how would a group of 63-65 do with some heavy damage dealers like 65 wizzy with agnars and good tank with boc and sod ect ect ?
