Very doable on DNC/NIN

You will need :
Fan dance
EVA build (at least a decent ammount)
Lots of shihei
45 minutes
Mdef and Def down steps
Violent flourish for ichi cast

Fight it like any other mob, you shouldnt have trouble staying above 200 TP so should have plenty of FM for stun>ichi. Only thing to be on your toes about is be ready for occasional spikes of ACC and CRIT from him, always had TP for a cure if that hapened.

Good luck ;)

Very doable as a level 61 Beastmaster/Ninja. My gear is as follows;

Light Staff.
Beast Jackcoat
Beast Helm
Beast Gaiters
Beast Trousers
Beast Gloves
Amemet Mantle
Bird Whistle
Corsette +1
Pearl Ring x2
Melody Earring x2

Use Utsusemi: Ichi and whatever food you plan on using (I use Tavnazian Taco). If you're lucky you can bug a White Mage for a Protect IV (It will help in case things go awry). Charm the closest monster and have it fight Aquarius. Run into the hall between the room that Aquarius spawns in, and the room where Ellyllon spawns. Face towards Aquarius while targeting one of the two spiders in the room. As soon as your pet dies charm the spider and send it to its death. Run into the room with the five Death Caps and do the same thing. Next will be a hall with three spiders and a left turn. Charm a spider, send it to his death. If you keep going straight, there will be a branch to your right that will lead you back up to the entrance in case of failure (Hug the right wall at that point). Hopefully you will not have had to use that turn. Moving on... Further ahead of you will be a small room that has a couple spiders and a couple Death Cap.Charm one, send it to die. This room has a branch to the left that will lead you back to where Aquarius spawns. From here on out it's just a matter of repeating what you were doing and keeping shadows up. Always have three. Always. If he hits you and removes one or two shadows before your pet can attack him, run to your next charmable pet and start casting Utsusemi. This WILL take you quit some time. He has 6600 or so hit points, and will periodically use [METALLIC BODY] (Ie; Stoneskin). He will be hitting you for between 200-300 damage. Your pets average lifespan is around 20 seconds. I recommend learning the map and all spawn points of the monsters first. Don't use [SIC] as no pet will ever have enough TP to use a TP move unless you managed to [CHARM] and [FAMILIAR] something. Knight Crawlers make great tanks, but are harder to charm and should be close to Very Tough for you. Warp Cudgels are your friend. Don't be afraid to zone him if you have to. I've noticed that if you zone him or if he kills you, often times he won't un-spawn but will rather walk back to his spawn point.

After waiting for about 3 hours, he finally popped up for me. Easy solo for a BLM/RDM. Just to be safe Elemental Seal Gravity and you should be fine. Make sure your 2 hour is up just incase you run out of MP for any reason. Fight lasted around 2 min only, just kite and nuke like you would on puddings

Drops were:
Fransisca (yay!)
Land Crab Meat
Crab Shell
Water Crystal
Thf/nin >>> AQ

So long as you have enough bolts (including blind, venom, etc., in addition to a relatively full stack of bloody bolts) and shihei, no reason a 75thf/nin can't solo this guy. I've fought him 5 times now, usually when somebody asks me to help out while I'm farming or skilling up. Not the fastest fight in the world, but really quite easy. Would love to do this with a bard in the party, 2x mambo on me, elegy on AQ, would be so easy. I have fought him every time with my farming gear on: O-hat, NQ SH, pair of dodge ears, Jam & BD, Ziska's xbow. One of these days Im gonna have to work on a job that can use the franny.
NIN solo!

Solo as NIN/WAR, use bat earrings, blind potions, full evasion build, elemental wheel is your main source of damage as your katanas wont hit much. Always keep blind, slow and paralyse on him. I used 6 blind potions for the fight, and also still had the effects of a jack-o-lantern from a low level job.

********* +1 X 2
Ungur Boomerang
Optical Hat
Evasion Torque
Bat Earring X2
Rasetsu Tekko
Survial Belt (cant get hold of scouter's rope)
Corse Cape
Arhats Sune-Ate

Ended fight with around 250hp, whle not a comfortable victory, a victory none the less :)
When I'm good they never remember,
When I'm bad they never forget

So, a DRG friend of mine and I were in the Tree working on unlocking dagger latent for my Evisceration fight. I was 75RDM/37NIN, he was 75DRG/37SAM. We had seen Aq. earlier and jokingly talked about trying to kill it. The funny thing was that 2 BSTs were there killing crabs as well and had taken no interest in it.

I say, "What the hell, i'll try again." I've done him plenty of times on BST with no problems...but this time i'm in zone, with no staves, no other gear except melee gear. Yeah, lol. It started out well and good...Grav stuck...Para, Slow, Blind no problems. Keep in mind i'm also not merited yet on RDM, so this is all Tier I stuff. Even Poison II stuck. I'm keeping Bio II on him, kiting while the DRG is chipping away little bit by little bit as well.

Finally around 17% Aq. decides he's had enough of Grav. and starts resisting as soon as it's cast. No surprise there...and somehow i'm managing to stay ahead of him with shadows up. Finally, he gets me for a couple of good swipes @ 9%, and I invite one of the BSTs, just as i'm dodging for the zone @ 80hp. Cure 4, zone back in, help out the BST and we all survive and let the Franny go to the BST.

Good times!

can you Bind this thing??
I was skilling up with the robber crabs when he popped, i was RDM75/NIN25 (lol) and a crappy mp pool, but I decided to give it a shot cause skilling was getting boring.
Anyway, i landed Gravity, BioII, Poison got resisted (normal) but Bind got resisted as well, with 310 skill, +40int and aquilo's staff. Didn't get a chance to try with ES but is he immune to Bind?

I figure you have to solo him VERY quickly, cause thunder deals a lot of dmg, but he builds resistance to gravity after only a few mins. Wasn't fast enough with no mp food and i had to zone in the end... but he is fairly easy, I will definately go fight him again :D
# Jul 06 2007 at 3:34 AM Rating: Decent
Oddly enough, AQ is immune to bind.

Just one of those weird little things.

I just soloed him yesterday in under three minutes with my 75 Rdm. It was a lot easier than I expected it would be. First thing i cast was gravity then nuked it and saw his hp go down 10% so thats when I just mashed CS and nuked away. Got my axe for my war first try along with 18k. Not bad for such a pushover :)

65 bst/whm, took about 1 and 1/2 hours, got franny, meat, and shell. pretty much cleared the area of mobs, as Aquarius killed them off in about 20 seconds each.

Soloable as 75NIN/37WHM take tools because thats what does most of your DMG and at least 2 yag drinks incase.

I'm on Unicorn and one of my Linkshell members (Drayco) took it solo as 75thf/37nin. This thing likes to fight one on one because anybody that even tried to help ended up dead.

By the sounds of it, a RDM75/NIN37 could solo this? am I right...?
My tale

Here is my tale of Aquarius...

I went into The Boyadha Tree to find my Fransisca. Robber Crabs and Knight Crawlers aggro me at 60WAR/30NIN still so I brought some Sneak Oils before I came. There were RMT's around but im pretty sure they weren't there for the crab. He eventually pop's and I sent a /linkshell "Aquarius is out" message to my LS. Warzeha (63WHM/31BLM) and Hozu (75RDM/35NIN) heeded the call of duty. I was keeping an eye out on the RMT's. I was unsure if they were going to try and claim my axe but I was willing to do just about anything to keep the claim. This NM is not ever camped so you really dont have to worry about claiming to much. I think the RMT's there were just trying to harrass anyone who got the claim. Anyways, RDM and WHM show up and the fight begins. It was pretty much a RDM battle. RDM would cast all the buffs, and then cast blind on the crab. I pretty much witnessed the enitre battle. It looked like this crab used berserk, aggressor, and hundred fists the entire time. It hits hard and fast and is unrelenting. RDM was doing great. He would cast gravity and kite it around the Boyadha Tree. Every so often converting and healing. For some reason though, in the middle of convert and refresh, the crab would release itself from our parties claim. (Text "Aquarius" went from Red to Yellow) Once he recovered most of his HP and MP, he would continue the fight. If you are a lower level Melee who has a higher level mage to help you, I suggest you keep a good distance from the actual battle. Hate is obtained from the crab with a RDM battleing it. The WHM cast Regen on the RDM and aggro went straight to WHM. I was standing there watching it and then the aggro turned onto me. I didnt even have my axes out, I was standing there watching. I guess he was a bit intimidated by my presence so I guess he wanted to take me out before I became trouble. I was killed in four hits with defender, utsusemi, and protect up. In the middle of convert, RDM gets killed. So our party is out for the count. WHM reraises and gets our party back up and running. We attempt a second time to kill this little *******. This time, we had a new strategy. RDM decided to keep gravity and blind on crab whilst casting Bio III, and ice and lightning. This strategy worked great! Not only did this work, halfway through the battle, the RMT's came back to harrass our RDM again. This time, crabby decided he had enough of these toolbags. Crabby went on a rampage on all seven of them. All I saw was four dead RMT's and three running out of the tunnel with crabby chaising them. He quickly mowed them all down and our RDM allowed it cause they were messing around with him while trying to fight the crab. They tried to fight it but were quickly disposed of. It worked out perfectly because while Aquarius was busy with dealing with them, it gave the RDM time to rebuff and get full HP and MP before resuming his beat down on the crab. RDM finally won the fight for me and I recieved my Fransisca. I'm not sure of the drop rate. Some of these forums say 100% some say its a highly dropped item. Either way, my party went 1/1 on the drop and I finally received the item I came to the Boyadha Tree for. Thanks Hozu and Warzeha. After the fight, Hozu ran over to the pile of dead RMt's and said, "Next time, don't fight an NM that will kick your ***." to which one of them replied "Yes Ma'am!" LOL... A great evening. Now I have a Tungi and a Fransisca to Dual Wield.

Good luck to all who fight this guy. Its a Psycho crab, for sure.

Not a hard fight if you use the right job. This guy just hits fast. Bsts would have a hard time with this guy since all the pets in the area are weak compared to this NM. If you can manage to get him to an area where there are stronger pets, Bsts would rip this guy apart, but I think that would be difficult.

So, I was bored one day. I got a tell from my friend asking if I would help. So, of course...I was bored. xD So I said yeah. We went in there with 70RDM
75PLD/WAR 75THF/NIN 63RNG/NIN 66BLM/RDM(Me)and first time we got owned cause the RDM d/c. Then we pulled it again after reraising and resting. RDM came back, I invited and this time I actually got to nuke and didn't have to main heal. It went down in a couple minutes this time. My Thunder III landing for about ~650 each time. Blizzard III doing about 600~. I got hate once, but zoned. Came back and Finished it off with a spell for like 500. [All Right!]
Friend got his Fransisca, we were all tired so we went to sleep.
The End.
First time soloing Aqua!

Just solo'd this as a NIN74. Very fun fight. Keeping all 3 enfeebles on him throughout the fight was pretty much a must in my opinion. Although THF have higher evasion than NIN, it impresses me that they can solo this as well without slow/para, with slow on he still hits very very fast. Para kicked in very often, but it probably just appeared that way since he hits so quick.

Good fight to hone your Ninja skills, or any job's skills for that matter, I found that casting Ni with one shadow left worked the best, since if you cast it after your shadows are down you must evade the next hit if you want to finish the cast. Got hit once when I was waiting for shadows to drop before casting Utsusemi: Ni, after I started casting it with one shadow left I wasn't hit again.

Good luck to all who try!

Me and some ls buddies. party setup was 63rng/nin(me), 75sam/nin, 69rdm/whm, and 75whm/blm. Sam was tanking with duel rune blades, he would just get his tp to 300 and use spirits within for about 600 damage. First time we got wiped cause whm and rdm spammed cure to much. Second time our sam summoned his lvl 60 npc and we deystroyed him. Im pretty sure the axe is 100% too. But dang this sucker attacks fast.
