lol! Let me first start off by saying those guys couldn't have been defeated by this nm, unless they took on both at once. When i first saw this picture, I was like, holy hell, this isn't going to be a walk in the park. Boy oh boy was I wrong. I asked a 75 smn friend of mine, famous for helping me with my af, (Thanks a ton Smeagle =p) to help me with this fight, and to my surprise, he insisted that he could solo it. So, what the hell? I agreed. The next day, he and I headed out to the temple, and made our way to the nm room. It started out a little rocky since one of the tonberries turned as I casted sneak on myself to avoid Crawler aggro, and suddenly I had like a million tonberries decimating me. lol long story short, I died. The smn leapt into action, (Carby to the rescue!) but it wasn't looking so good for him either lol. (Those little guys are tougher than they look.) He hit red hp, and dashed for the zone. Carby stayed behind like a trooper, and finally took one of them out. But after he did, he ran back for the smn with the other two tonberries quickly behind. Smn made it to zone, came back, raised me, killed all the aggro, and i threw on a sneak and popped the mobs. Summoner used Garuda for this fight, and did an AMAZING job. He didnt get struck once. He'd wait on the opposite side of the door for Garuda to die, then recast. He took him out VERY quick. Despite the skill, Cleuvarian does hit EXTREMELY hard. He was dishing out about 110-150. I suggest either a paladin over a nin for this fight, because if Cleu. starts landing hits while a nin is trying to cast utsu, he will most definitely be interupted. Anyway, I wrapped this up and have a shiny new Drachen Armet. i was a little disapointed with the cut scene with all the hype people were giving it =p If there's any cut scene that's the best in this game, I place my vote for Zilart Mission 1, the new frontier where the Warriors of the Crystal are revived and start whooping everyon's *** =p But that's just me.

Ran up sneaked, popped it ran back, had bst pull right one with CC, we pwned it then we ran up and pwned the other.. bout 3 minutes and I was watching a cutscene.

wait what? notice that only warrior and dark knight can use a great sword but they cant wear tunics...strange huh?
All BLM shadows wear tunics and wield Great Swords; go figure. RNG shadows use h2h weapons in addition to their bows, too.
Paladins can use great swords and wear tunics.
and drks can wear cloaks at higher lvls. so that kinda just completely trumped that notion.
dang you all beat me to my point! DRK can wear Vampire Cloak and wield a GS like Balmung at the same time, meanwhile a PLD can wear a Vermillion/Royal Tunic while wielding a GS like Faust. Point made >^.^<

the picture looks like they brought a pld tank... nin are generally better for shadows... not to diss on pld tho...
did this today. had a NIN 75 help out...we had like 10 people helping. it was mor or less overkill. the guide really makes it look harder than it really is. and this picture does not help at all....if you sneak the person who spawns them they never attack, have someone use carby or something and fight safely away fron the other. one thing to note though, you must kill them quickly before room respawns all the tonberies and crap. the cutscene is very long so make sure people stick around to guard you.

just did it with 12 people. Just get one high level person to tank one shadow [we used 70 DRG] and everyone beat on the other. We took them both down in a couple minutes.

I did this tonight with 16 people. I tanked both of the Shadow's at 61. The one with the Great Sword averaged 220ish per hit, while the one with the sword only did a little over 100. I got very low HP at times, but they go down fast. A hard AF3, but if done correctly, easy. Just keep the tank healed. ;x
they dont have a lvl range posted from him but i guess we can all make a guess at his lvl by looking at the 10+ dead ppl with AF behind him.....
he makes me even more afraid of shadows.....
never knew i posted this...well a few lvls later he makes shadows look like chumps, these guys were easy prey for us, took 8 of us a total of 3 mins to kill both, just make sure to tank em one at a time...we had a 70 tank, and the rest of us were lvl 60ish....easy fight...get a hgih lvl tank,lol
