The exact location of the mob is between (L-11) and (M-11) on the first .map of Sea Serpent Grotto coming in from Yuhtunga Jungle. It's located in the doughnut shaped room at the southeast corner of the map.
We camped Fyuu for about 2 hrs killing every sahagin in the area, and he popped in the NW side of the room near the torch.
75PLD, 73PLD, and 73WHM took about a minute to kill it, not even sure if the 2-hour went off or not. Only had TH1, but got the Sardine and the Frog Trousers.

I camped for him for the pants last night with LS mates. We spent about an hour and a half- 2 hours there.
The placeholders (riparin sahagins) are on about a 12-min timer. As a level 50 the only thing that really aggrod was the bigclaws.
Fyuu spawned across from the little alter-looking area, and we took him out no problem. Dropped bastore sardine and Frog Trousers!! +20 more MP for my bardlet...!

killed it as a 56 bst, with a pet out, got about 16xp
i think i would have gotten 23-25xp without a pet which would put this at 8-9 levels back according to the following table

Almost 5 hours camping this guy in the donut room at I-10 - no show at all! Killed all the Sahagin (made bout 500xp total soloing some EPs as DRK60/THF30) including the placeholders, but no joy. 5 hours for a rare/ex drop that MIGHT not drop and I couldn't even get to pop. At least I got my SSG map! - Dema

Figured I'd skillup sword a bit while I was there, so I potted around for 2 hours skillupping sword before I got bored and wandered back to Norg. Swapped back to DRK/THF (was skilluppin as DRK/NIN for dual-wield madness) and made my way back there to log for an hour or so ('cos its supposed to be a 3hr spawn, or so I'm told!)
POL crashed just as I got to my camp, so I booted it back up cos I wanted to finish conversation I was having with LS. As I log back in, something aggros me. Fyuu is standing there (a little under 2hrs after I last killed him - Blood Weapon isn't back yet!) and he's bought a friend to beat on me. Sleep II the friend, couple of guillotines, down to 129hp, Demajen obtains the Frog Trousers and a Bastore Sardine, /dance with the slept Riparian buddy, Flee outta there cos I don't have the HP to fight him! My WHM42/BLM21 now has 518mp, which I think is very respectable for an elvaan!

Level 60 drg & 50 rdm, got 7 exp, guessing around level 48-50
My WHM friend, who was helping me camp Qull the Shellbuster in SSG, saw this bugger just sitting there waiting to be snatched when a RDM lv 75 walked up and continued on past him. I then proceeded to run over and ask what the drop was and the RDM flashed her pair of Frog Trousers at me (crazy jp ;p) so I proceeded to beat it to a bloody pulp (63mnk/thf). Got the drop first time, not a hard fight besides the x3 adds ; ;

This guy aggroed me as a lvl 69WHM, i was like <_<, but after i hit him with 3 Hexa Strikes he went down. Not a very hard fight and got the pants. Elvangoddess Sylph 69WHM/BLM
my BST friend was exp'ing in there yesterday & told me he got a NM on his widescan, he did research & saw the drop is frog trousers which would be nice, now he can have +20 MP from them and as a BST/WHM the more MP the better.
So i take an airship, and a chocobo to get to him (i'm amazed nobody took it) & then me & him went off the get the NM, so we follow his widescan & see him there. I quickly stun him & then i engaged with my Dagger(i'm a blm who loves his dagger, what can i say ;P ). I throw in BlizzardIV & ThunderIV & then naturally everything decided to link. But as a blm that's not a problem, i just sleepga'd everything (nm couldnt be slept) & carried on. My friend went & charmed a crab them he put that to help too. Then i decide to manafont since i rarely use my 2hour, threw my giga nukes, healed myself , nuked again, Dead.
Now my friend Pyke is wearing his flashy rare/ex trousers :)

That guy is weak, I destroyed him as a lv 60 Drk, I helped a whm friend of mine get it, Spawned after 10 minutes and got the drop.
was down by in the loop jsut north of the silver coin door sorta soloing/key hunting when this guy spawned... That sucked lol had no idea anNM spawned there ><. the time seemed to be about 3 hours of killing everything down there. I was fighting another Sahagin when it spawned and instantly linked. had to blow up with 72hp left (tried to finish off first Sahagin before 2-hour, didnt happen ><). It hit my lvl 50nin for ~80 a swing and it hit fast. If I was fully rested and stuff I could proly have killed it. but a DC and EM at 50 at the same time doesnt happen ^^;.
my guess is he is close to lvl 50 maybe ~48? judging by its power and the power of the same monster type (riparian Sahagin) if I recall the bellower was a BRD class. which was the second problem, songs +attacks of two mobs ate thru shadows extremely quick. Im lucky I didnt die ><
Oh well.

I was able to easily solo this NM as a 62 MNK. However, I killed it twice and no drop. The first spawn was within 15 mins. The second spawn was a little over 3 hours later. I was helping a WHM friend get the Frog Trousers, but no luck. I will try again soon.

Stumbled upon him today, was just there, no one was around. He dropped 2400 gil and some kelp. ; ; just saw his drop, and I want them ; ; And, he was decently tough to me as a 60 PLD, so he is sorta high.
If you go to the silver beastcoin door and go north into the circular enclave instead of entering the door, this puts you in the spawn area. There are two treasure chest spawns over here and a kill-spawn for a Mermaid quest NM. As a result, this area is high enough traffic that you can plan on never "stumbling" upon Fyuu sitting out.
4th kill got me the drop. I had different friends helping me with each spawn, but to give an idea to any wondering, here are the group layouts with which we killed Fyuu: (I logged out for at least 90 minutes in between kills.)
11:25pm 1) 45BST, 60DRK, 60NIN, 60RDM. Nothing in the room stood a chance. 1200 gil, kelp.
3:30am 2) 45BST, 57BLM. Won this fight only thanks to a well-timed Freeze. Used 2-hour on pet, pet died. 1200 gil, kelp.
6:40am 3) 45BST, 56RDM. Won this fight with relative ease. Used 2-hour on pet, pet died. 1200 gil, kelp.
10:45am 4) 45BST, 64RDM. Even easier, and got the drop. :D 1200 gil, kelp, FROG TROUSERS!!
Spawn timers in this room are 12 minutes per Sahagin, probably the same for crabs though I wasn't watching those.
Seww the Squidlimbed sometimes pops in here, but if he pops it's because someone wanted him to and consequently will kill him.
Fyuu has two placeholders in this circular area, Riparian Sahagins, which pop one to the East and one to the West of center. Fyuu will always pop to the west when it's his time, or at least, the 5 times I've seen him, he's popped in the water or dead middle of the west side of the circle.
Fyuu seems to be on a 2-4 hour lottery timer which does not appear to be related to the 2 brook or rivulet sahagins who also share the room, though those were regularly killed by those seeking Mermaid parts and by the unfortunate Japanese player who is waiting another 3+ hours for their trousers. ;)
The following players are some of the coolest friends I have on Midgarsormr: Hellsing, Ashn, Orreo, Shrunkenjackal, Kamikazz, Zenei. Thank you.

Killed this guy 3 times in 2 days, still no drop (Quus, kelp, cobalt jellyfish). He spawns off the 2 Riparian sahagin in the corner pool. With just Phalanx his regular hits did about 12 with crits around 40-50, not sure about his specials because they never landed. The only hard thing about him for me was that he spammed Magic Finale during one fight and slowed me in another ._.
Seems to be on a 2 hour+lottery spawn, could be wrong though, not sure if he links but i DID end up with him + 3 sahagin the first time i fought him lol..

Ok, I spent the night camping this guy, so I thought I would do a good write-up on him.
Firstly, the map of the place is harder to get to than the NM is.

For a map of chest locations. The mobs that drop keys are, happily, the mobs that you need to fight to get this fellow to pop. If you look on the above map on map 1, he pops JUST east of the top left blue dot, in H-11. He popped there both times, in the exact same spot.
We spent a total of 3 hours in Sea Serpent Grotto tonight (3 of us, myself there as a 45BRD/WHM, a 63RDM/BLM and a 62RNG/THF. This guy is not tough at all, I was the one to pull him, and I was not getting hit all that badly, and I am a taru.
He didnt use his 2hr in either fight, why, I dont know. He uses the Hydroball ability that all the other Sahagins use, which is relatively weak. The highest LVL song we saw him sing is Foe Requiem 4, which is LVL 57. So he is atleast LVL 57. We had no issues taking him down, the RNG was tanking as rangers tend to do, and didnt get into yellow. I would not say he is over 60, not by a long shot. He has 4300 HP.
We stayed in the circle dead-end at that area for the full 3 hours, only I went off in search of chests when we got keys. You only need sneak in Sea Serpent Grotto. The easiest way to get to the NM is to hug the left wall from the Yuhtunga entrance, if you get to the Silver Beastcoin door you have gone too far.
Most of the chest spawn locations are beyond this Silver Beastcoin door, so do take 1 or 2 if you plan to go map hunting also.
The drop is not 100%. The first time we killed it it was just me and the RDM who was able to easily solo it, and we got no drop. The second time we had TH1, so I guess that helped.

My brother and I found and killed this without general intention while doing a quest here. We were killing Brook Sahagins near the Silver Beastcoin door which you go through to do the Utsusemi quest. If you know where that room is, it spawns in a small circular room to the left of the door before you go through it.
Basically, just stick to the left from the Yuhtunga zone, you should see an "Ornamented Door" after two small rooms and a large one... keep going left from there until you reach a large room with Rivulet and Brook Sahagins, as well as a ledge in the middle with Delta and Shore Sahagins. Again, turn left, and take the path to the left- follow that then left AGAIN. Go straight until you see the unnamed door, but stay left until you get to the circular dead end room. It spawns a few steps to the left of that room. Since it's a bard, it pops off of Riparian Sahagins, although it's easier to pull from the right side since no Sahagins spawn there. It's really easy to find if you have a map which you get from the treasure chest.
Anyway, we were really hesitant when we saw it since we had no idea what it's level was. We killed all the Sahagins we could without it linking, then rested to full and my brother pulled it. I saw him located in the Gold Beastcoin area, I got lost while wondering around doing the Utsusemi quest. I'd watch out, I saw a few lvl 75's with sneak on.
Misinformation. You might be thinking of Whatshisname the Waverider, but Fyuu pops behind no doors at all.

Was wondering if anyone has any details on how to get the map of this place... i.e. what mobs drop the keys to the chests, where the chests are located, etc. The first guy who posted here gave pretty thorough sounding directions but I would still feel better if I had the map lol. Man... I want these Trousers so bad I can taste them! Any help at all would be much appreciated thank you! ^^
