This NM is by far one of the oddest NMs I've ever camped.
His spawn time seems to highly vary, anywhere between 2-6 hours (according to experience and some of my friends)
There's not much info. on here about how he pops. And honestly, I have no idea as well. I've seen both cases where I was taking out PH's single handedly then someone came in and stole Flauros, and then another time he popped right when another PH was supposed to. He does only pop in the main room, however.
The safest thing to do (and is what I do) is I kill all the Toramas in the room (hey easy farming, not to mention good skill ups) by grabbing them then pulling them into the main room. I take auto-target off and keep my camera looking around at all angles. Keep track of the Toramas re-spawn time (roughly 16 minutes) and never leave the main room unless you know there's no one else there. Even then while you're waiting, go outside the door grab a Wespe for Bee Larvae then go back in.
Overall, an obnoxious NM to camp. No wonder an NM with a 100% drop item still goes for so much on the AH in today's economy. He's obnoxious, no doubt about it.

Ok that 2 to 3 hour window is BS

anyone have any clues as to which are the PH? Ive been killing the 2 toramas in the hallway to the north but still no pop. Anyone got any ideas?
I've been camping Flauros to obtain whiskers to finish lvling my woodworking and I believe that there are no PH's for this mob, it spawns every 2-3 hrs in the main room whether or not the other Torama's are killed. He spawned several times with the PH by the door still alive. This may be new from the last update possibly since this is the first days I have ever needed to camp Flauros.

i took this thing down with my 75rdm/nin my wife was in party with me as whm so she took care of the paralyze......had another rdm in party but he kept geting aggro so it was just me and my wife lol
Which Toramas are Flauros's PH? Is it all 4 that spawn on that side of the door? Is it just the 2 that spawn in the hallway? Only time I've spawned him, it was in place of one in the hallway.

This thing is no 75 at 73 monk i took him easily while having 3 tonberrys on me at the same time i didnt 2 hour he died too fast for me to waste my 2 hour on him. Very easy.
Was out in the Temple trying to solo my Dagger Trials and level my NPC at the same time and i spawned this guy. For those any questions on how you spawn i'm guessing its any Torama from the first door till a little further out in the hall way were the other 2 are. When i saw Flauros, the Torama thats right behind that first Granite Door was there and it was in the middle of the tonberry room. I'm so glad i had made some sleep bolts cause he would've posed a bit of a problem for 75RNG/NIN with only 30 Holy Bolts to use for DMG. Just kept using Sleep Bolts till i got TP and switch to Holys for Slug Shot. And at the same time the pizza guy came by... don't ya hate that?
Whisker has to be 100% drop like Ose, gave me 19ish EXP and 2500gil solo. And i don't think level 75 cause i would've been pwned ; ;

just took this with 65 drg, 64 rdm and 67 brd... it wasn't an especially tough fight, but the paralyze from blaster really messes up a drg/whm's ability to self-heal!

No way this thing is level 75. Easily duo'ed by 75 BRD and 69 RDM. 18 exp from the fight.

This thing can't be level 75. It only gave me 34 exp as a DRK73/NIN36.
Simple ****, sleep bolt till 100TP and WS. Rinse and repeat.
He paralyzed me once, np. Sleep > Sleep II. Rest and it was gone in less than minute.
Chaotic eye, np. Simply turn around when he uses it and it will have no effect on you. (Similar to U.Range Demons using Doom - just turn around)
Easy solo fight for anyone with /nin and status bolts.

My friend solo'd this as a lvl 72 THF so there is no way that this is lvl75 like the page says.
I think mysterytour's estimate of Flauros's level at 59-60 is closer than the 75 posted here. Solo'd him as 66BST with 2 Wespes and a Funguar Familiar (used 1 gamma biscuit on familiar).
Awesome! Our pic got posted :p Anyway, we were just rumbling throught the Temple of Ugly People to get unlit lanterns for ZM's, saw this guy and took him out. Dropped Flauros whisker and some other odd junk. I lost lot on the whisker (of course). Sigh. Anyway I've seen him two or three other times but I never have any potions on me, or I'd take him on. Not a terribly tough mob unless you lack someone to use Paralyna and Silena. Obviously a lottery pop of the Couerls in the immediate area. Spawn point is just past the door immediately to the left as you first enter The ToU.
Saw this guy while exploring. The Velocity bow+1 worth 2M on Bahamut

We shared the tanking whenever it needed to be swapped. It wasn't too too hard, and some amateur trained like 7 mobs to use. Luckily Sleepga managed to succeed every single time.
Got the Whisker too.

Check the 'HNMs' the first guy said he killed.
After reading it was 6x 70 on *ahem* another site, I was kinda scared to take this guy on.
Beat him easily with 75 BLM and 73 THF. Whisker seems to be a guranteed drop, 65k on Quetz.
