I just got a puppy for christmas from my girlfriend. He was adopted from a shelter because he became orphaned at one point in the last 10 weeks. This little mut has officially been named Aldo making him the most baddassed pooch on Earth.

After looking after what ya'll have been writing, I've come to my own ideas.
First of all: It's the same face and same hair both "Aldo's" got, I've checked.
Second: How can you say Aldo is a PLD? He might got some white - but ****** - clothes, but if you see around him none of them there is high levels with AF gear. So why only him?
About his "Sis". This guy here's message says the arrow from the orch hit some metal. Actually, I think so too, but still not quite sure since I've haven't watched it in slow-mode. You can't see a **** wether it hits the wall or a sword. You don't hear any screams from his sis, so we are not sure if she got killed or not. And when Aldo tryes to look over again, this orch tryes to grab him. Well thats what everybody believes! What if it actually tryed to run from the blade of a knight? Maybe there was a knight or something in there or that came just in time who saved her? Cuz when Aldo runs, you can suddenly hear som grunts from the orchs, like they were suffocating or something.
If the woman in Selbina is his sis or not, I got no idea. I got rank 4 today and my highest level is RDM 38.. So this is just a conclution.
Ps. It is NOT an axe the orchs throw, but a arrow shot by a bow. You can hear the bow be taken up, thats how Emmelin (sis) got away from the arrow who came right against her.

It is almost certain that this is a different also all together. Using the basis that this is a similar character model is a very flawed argument because of the limited amout of character models in the game anyway. Also if you look at the starting FMV again the Aldo from that has different coloured hair.
Also there is no chance of the first Aldos sister being alive. They where chased into a dead end appart from that one gap and an orc makes a grab for Aldo when he attempts to look back over, so there is no way she was rescued.
The chances that this is the same Aldo is almost none exsistant, though not impossible.... though it wouldnt be the first time Square have recycled a name.

I seems higly liklely hat the Aldo in the Tenshodo is also the Aldo from the opening movie. He looks EXACLY like the same character model as this so called "Paladin" leader from the end of the opening video. He also mentions wanting to run the Tenshodo as a promise he made to his father long ago... who could his father be/have been?
As for his sister in the opening video... I'm guessing she's Mathilde from Selbina. It is revealed in a CS that she was adopted when she was found by the older couple (the old man who has the sheep and his wife), and that they changed her name. She also has a son whom she named "Aldo" and can remember someone with that same name, who was once very important to her. HIGHLY LIKELY, SE wouldn't just throw that in as a coincidence.
Now when it comes to Verena from most of the Zilart mission... it has me a little stumped.
Sure it's possible that Aldo had been adopted by Verena's family, but who's to say some of Aldo's family didn't just either;
A. Also escape from Tavnazia during the attack
or
B. Live in Jeuno as well
Considering the fact he quite obviously remembers his real family, it seems unlikely he would start calling someone else "sis'". But all in all, wo knows.
Hopefully with some future updates, more will be revealed with this cool storyline.

Aldo's sister in the opening FMV is named Emelyn (watch it again, he calls her by name twice). This is a different Aldo. Remember that at the end of the FMV he's a PLD. This particular Aldo is about as far from a PLD as you can get. Aldo is probably just a common hume name.

That may be true... but SE loves people who fall from grace to rise anew and a darker version of themselves. Kain, Cecil are two great examples, the latter becoming PLD from DRK.
So this could be the same PLD Aldo. Who knows >.>
Though I highly doubt it, it's been many decades of rebuilding to restore the cities after the great war so most likely the original Aldo is dead, buried, and dust by now <.<

From what I can see when I rewatch the opening movie... Aldo's sister in the movie is older, which means Verena might not be a blood relative. I am going to go with the opinion that Aldo was adopted... possibly by the pirates or something, maybe? Additionally... at the end of the video, you get a shot of Aldo in his shiny armor... that pretty much proves that Aldo is the same Aldo from the opening movie because they have the same hair color and style. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the Zilart missions are all about. Anyway.. that's my two gil.
I haven't done the Zilart Missions so this isn't a spoiler, just conjecture.

Aldo's sister (the girl in the starting movie) might not be dead. Notice when the Orc's throw an axe at her it is blocked by something metal. Is there somebody with her? ;)
Also we never see her dead body. Interesting scene.

Aldo is the boy in the starting movie! You hear the girl say his name before she's killed by the orcs.
The girl is not killed by Orcs. Verena (Aldo's sister) is in the Zilart missions.
Even though the girl who was killed/not killed by orcs had a different name and was older?
