I was running through Yughott Grotto last night trying to get my ghelsba key and I saw my friend the Ashmaker standing there. He put up a good fight and dropped the robe! 40k right now on Ragnarok

i love camping this thing!
first time i fought it, it dropped robe, then the next day i killed 2 more times in about 2 hours, no one realy camps him in bismarck (exept me) so i spend most my time here getting ????ing rich!

hahahaha, your the only one on bismark that camps ashmaker? thats so wrong that its funny. i spent over 4 months camping this guy. i stopped for about 2 months for pure lvling, and i'm back to camping him constantly again. better try camping him more often so you can see me take him from you every time. i've claimed him well over 500 times now. i get the wand constantly but i get the robe every now and then. i don't even sub THF w/ this guy.
Lol, I guess there is a reason that nobody camp this *****. The drop rate sucks, I just killed him 4 times today, and still no robe >.>

i find it funny how all your jobs have a zero and u proclaim yourself as great.
It seems like no one camps this NM on Garuda. I've run into him no less than 4 times, just standing around unclaimed. I'm about 1/15 on him, I got the robe after the second time i fought him and I just keep going back.

<Sigh> Fought him again this morning and still haven't gotten the rob. I'm like 0/15 with this guy. I haven't played in a while and it was a nice surrprise to see that the hermit wand now sells for 5k on Odin instead of 1k in the past. (Odin is going through some major inflasion right now lol). The good side to hunting this NM is that I always get him. I hunt him around 6 a.m. East Coast time. Not many Americans are on at this time and the JP's are starting to get off. Ghelshba is pretty much empty when I go to hunt him. I kill the orcs in the area and in 15 min when they all spawn, Ashmaker usually spawns with them.

I kill the ashmaker atleast 3 times a day for the past 3 days and got him to drop the robe 2/10 times :)....

I said someday last time and last night was the day. I was heading through Ghelsba and took a detour through the Grotto. I knew the area he spawned in. He appeared a couple minutes after I got there but someone else beat me to it. I stood around killing orcs for an hour then he showed up right behind me while I was healing. He really wasn't difficult for me. I only used 1 cure spell.

I am a lv 23WhM/11BlM. You think I could handle him? I have been lurking around his area of spawning but I haven't seen him yet. Then again, I always see a bunch of people camping him.

It would be a close 1 but if u use the right spells at the right times u should jus skim by. Silence sounds like a start cause alot of posts say he uses manafont especially and throw in a few nukes too. U always have divine seal for your last cure and 2hr to back u up. Jus watch out for linking orcs and correct me if im wrong there might be a few DCs to u in that specific area but if not EPs still aggro, so be careful.

Well me and a fellow LS member killed this today - we were running through, it was just standing there. All it gave was a wand.

What would be a level that a war could run around, kill placeholders, and get the NM with as little resting as possible?

Well the higher lvl the less resting obviously but u can run around with a 30+ war and im almost positive all the placeholders con twtbw. But when i 1st started hunting ashmaker i used a lvl 25 for the few exp and lots of fire crystals^^ (i like to be efficient) But yes a 30+ war should be capable to run around comfortably. NOTE>>a 30+ war enables u to have a 15 thf subbed (TH1) which helps on the drop just to help:)

Hey all. First post, this NM inspired me. It wasnt too difficult of a task. I used my friends 42thf/21war to give it a shot. As soon as I arrived, Ashmaker spawned, I killed him, got the wand, no robe. So I end up running around for the better part of an hour, more or less, killing every orc I see around the entire area, netting a good 2-3k from it. Ashmaker spawns again, Im alone in this endevor, I smash on him with SA/TA and end the fight with Gust Slash. Again, only the wand. This little game continues for -6- hours, fighting Ashmaker -6- times. And never once did I have any competition. I finally got it on the 6th drop, those fabulous robes, which now adorn my pathetic little 21whm/10blm taru. I walked away with 33k total, counting the price of the wands which sold in about...30 minutes. Had I sold the robes I would've netted 63k, starting from 0 gil. Not too bad, might do it again in the future.

From experience Ashmaker spawns about every hr depending on how fast u kill placeholders (orcs) For those of u who dont realize (there r some) almost every nm only spawns if u kill its placeholders which r usually the same mob as the nm, only bigger in appearance. The placeholders r only the orcs in the circled area above so jus keep killing them and u will get it. Drop rates r useless to me cause Squenix changes the rates so dam much it jus doesnt matter anymore>>>so jus keep trying guys.

This is the 1st nm ive ever camped and didnt really understand the concept of nms>>>meaning i told some1 not to take it on me>lmao Ive been camping nms ever since and understand the competition part of it^^ and im getting alot better at it. Anyways ive camped ashmaker as drk/rng at 1st realizing that rng was useless cause spawn spot is small (0/3) so i switched to thf sub (just TH1) giving me a total of 1/6 on the robe drop (btw i usually only hunt nms cause i USE the drops>>giving others a chance at it) I missed ashmaker a bit as a rng since it was my 1st few nm hunts but dont mess with me now cause i have extreme patience and i am very persistant^^ Ty for reading my 1st post also and note i have many more exciting hunting stories to come yet.

Was just running around mining, doing great too. (3 gold ores, 1 DS from 1 stack used so far)...and there he was. Stunned him, in case someone else saw him too...and killed him. Got the robe, an added 35k profit to my mining excursion. It was great. I had thf subbed, because i had forgot to change it from when i was farming the day before. Guess i got pretty lucky. I highly advise bringing some picks if your going to camp this guy (as stated in posts below). Just my 2 cents.

What is the spawn time for this guy one of my friends told me it is a 1-3 HR spawn he said he camps him alot he is a 32 or 33 THF/NIN on Diabolos!
If you kill the place holders off it spawns alot faster. I don't keep track of time, but I'd say if you killed placeholdes off right after kill then it should only take 1 hour.
ive gotten 3 priest robes so far out of like 15 kills its a great idea to mine while you wait for this NM to pop i made 25k just mining while waiting for him to spawn and then once you kill him and get drop that can make the total 30k (wand) or 70k (robe) so its a great money maker considering it takes about 1-1 in a half hours for him to pop
[b][/b]I logged on and I was alredy in the pop zone. Five min after I logged on it popped. I took it out and got the robe, Finally. I went off and mined a little then I got the Ashmaker 3 more times within 5 hrs. I only got the hermits wand everyother time.

1/4 so f'in tight!!! I missed the first pop when i got there. so i came back in 1 hr and waited!!!
And waited!!! And waited!!! he didn't pop again til 2hrs exactly after the first pop. i got the pull and it dropped!!! I'm so stoked! 1/4.

so far if he popped he didn't take any longer then 1hr and 10 mins and no shorter then 1 hr exactly.
And waited!!! And waited!!! he didn't pop again til 2hrs exactly after the first pop. i got the pull and it dropped!!! I'm so stoked! 1/4.

(10:07) - Third Spawn - i didn't get XD
11:20 - Fourth Spawn
see if you guys can get a pattern. i talked with the dude from the 10:07 spawn and none of the 4 spawns dropped the robe.

LMAO after about an hour and a half of waiting ashy has just popped again. The funny thing is this time i tried something new knowing his tricks. Right at the same time he used monafont i casted Silence and shut his @$$ up!!! Not that it really mattered most he ever took me for was 13 dmg. I have another **** poor wand to sell. let's hope my luck turns and I get the robe. i need to get the rest of my cent armor and i need to buy stoneskin and phalanx.
