This was the first NM I had ever seen,fought,and killed.I didn't get the drop after running by and seeing and killing him after a few times.So one day I decided to camp him just so I could say I got the drop,and the pocket change would be nice cuz the sword is also going for 60k on Diabolos.After a long days work,I finally became 1/23 on this fella.

I'm reading this and realising just how lucky i was when i fought him. I was doing some sort of mission or something or other in the mines (i forget what it was), when low and behold a NM. I don't know you Mr NM. But i'm going to take my chances and kill you anyways. Braveheart. First time. Only time. Thanks Mr NM. I didn't even have TH on. I'm a fricken BLM.
Good luck to the rest of you, and keep trying. But not too hard. I might want to go back and try my luck again sometime. Don't want all you bastards around crowding the place lol

Camped this thing for 5 hours early this morning with a ranger from my LS. I was about to give up on Boneeater due to the ranger saying the Crimsonarmor had popped.
On our way out the room, Boneater popped right in front of me. A minute's worth of battle and the quadav was toast and Braveheart was mine.
Only cost was the time spent. The price for the ranger helping me out was my synthing a goldfish bowl for him (after he gave me all the materials).
Camped this thing for 5 hours early this morning with a ranger from my LS. I was about to give up on Boneeater due to the ranger saying the Crimsonarmor had popped.

I was in the process of doing windy 2-3 mission and came across him. Took him out with my 32blm/whm and got the braveheart. Guess it was my lucky day

I was bored in Palborough Mines on Sunday. Had my 37WHM/18SMN. We were going to do a BCNM 40, but had to wait on a Storm to pass for one of our members. I'm standing in the room where he supposedly spawns, and I look behind the gate and I see a few Quadav. So I position myself to where I can see him and Cast Dia. Rather than the gate opening like I thought it would, all three Quadav ran out of the room. Odd. So I wait for a while, doing some LS Talk, then I see this Huge 13 Quadav Train coming, led by the Two Veteran Quadav and the one Onyx Quadav from the room.
I kill them with my Staff, one by one. I did have to use Benediction when about 5 of them hit Criticals at the same time, and my HP was already in the Yellow. So then I just have one Onyx Quadav. Then I see one spawn behind him, right in front of the Gate. Zi'Ghi Boneeater. I told my LS I saw him and my RL friend is like "That's the one that loots Braveheart. Get it!" Didn't have to worry about Claim, since he aggroed me. I just switched target. It did take a bit to beat, because that one Onyx Quad kept curing him. But I was able to beat him. Only dropped Coarse Gauntlets though. Still, it was pretty fun.

Sounds like you have my kinda luck.
I was mining on my 30 mnk and started getting up to this area when I ran into this room, just passing by, and turned around and found out I had aggroed at least 12 of them. Take about fun, I beat them all down and started to rest when I saw it pop and I figured it wasnt going to get taken since I was the only one there and the only one I had seen so I kept /heal'ing and all of a sudden a BST comes up, hits upside the head, /cheer's and runs off....

this is a good nm to farm since its gooddrop isnt rare or ex (thank god) whenimthe lvlim gonna farm it

You DO know that the 'Rare' tab on an Item has noting to do with it's Rarity. It just means you can only carry one.
Ive been campin this ******* since 8 p.m. only one in the mines. Killed him maybe...6 times. Gotten those damn gauntlets every time. Swear to god if I get those again im trainin and killin every goddamn mob in Palborough. Need this sword for my 17 Drk. Gettin real tired/bored, if anyone wants to help on Leviathan, your welcome to, just gimme a /tell
Edit: Finally got the sword ^^. Damn thing linked at least 15 other mobs from other room lol. Swords 45K on Leviathan

As a 25WAR/12MNK I was waiting for people to help me get the kahzam keys and started killing this guy. I had used Braveheart before switching to a Neckchopper so I knew how much it was worth. I killed him 3 times and got 3 gauntlets before I got a party. One time a high level DRK was running by and started buffing for the fight but I had been camping and voked it faster than I thought I could!
That was a long time ago and it was about 80k on Midgarsomr, I've been in the jungle so long I have no idea what it could be today.

I was killing cooper quadavs for the garrison item, after 12 kills i had the drop, couldn't use my warp cudgel so i did a train to kill myselft, they were so much quadavs that i started takin SS when i notice that one quadav as a different name.
I was bout 300hp and he did Invincible,I was 120hp when the 30 secs passed, with the cureII that others quadav gived to him i killed him 2secs before i died, only droped gaunlets... was Mnk43/war

Hmmm, that sucks to hear. Because when I got it, it was after killing him once, then logging for an hour and showing up to kill him again, etc... (for 3 hours).

I went as lvl 35 BLM/THF. Got the pop fast the first time, but alas, no Braveheart. I killed everything in there for about 6 hours and no pop ><; I even dragged a couple friends in to help me, lol. One day i will have my revenge!
This guy no longer spawns each hour...sorry. I spent 15 minutes killing all the quadav's in that room, then he popped. Killed easily as a 57smn, I didn't get the Braveheart, so I stayed around to try again. After 3 hours (killing everything in that room), he didn't spawn again.

Ya might want to fix your signature if what you just stated is true. You just said you were camping it, yet your signature says that your retired?

I can confirm that he does not spawn once every hour anymore... Several months ago I camped Zi'Ghi a few times, and, like clockwork, he spawned every hour. Now that I NEED the sword (and have been camping Zi'Ghi for 7 straight days), he seems to take 1-3 hours. Also, I am of the opinion that his drop rate has been reduced HORRIBLY. Before this last week, I was 3/7 on the Braveheart. This week, I have 23 coarse gauntlets and ZERO Braveheart swords... I know that I could probably farm the money for it in under 3 hours, being a thief, but now it's personal between Zi'Ghi and I lol. Oh, and as an added point of interest, my girl got the drop w/o having TH... go figure lol. Hope this clears up any confusion on this particular NM's spawn times.
I finally got the Braveheart for my Warrior (L15 at the time of this post). Got it on my 5th try, only got Coarse Gauntlets up until then.
Going off of my own experiences and what darksirius posted, I have concluded:
His spawn timer is one hour + lottery (but pretty good chance of spawning).
The veteran quadav is indeed the only placeholder that HAS to be killed, and the three respawn every 8 minutes.
Usually after he's been killed he'll show back up in 1 hour + 1-3 spawns (so 1h - 1.5h roughly).
Also convenient because after you finally get the damn sword you can take the boat back to Zeruhn to save some time.

Reason Im using it is because I'd like to have G.Sword capped for whenver I feel like soloing as PLD, since I dont get a chance to cap it in parties. Also going to skillup G.Axe before 23 when I can get Sturmwind (only L21 atm).

this nm is on a timer, he pops around every hour. his place holder is the vetran quadav thats in the room. the place holder pops every 8 mins. hope that helps.

quadavs will come from the other side of the gate and train.
was doing the dark quest/rank 3 mission and as I was running throu I saw him. killed him in about 1 minute 30 seconds, only hit me 2 times for total of 20 damage. I was a 30mnk/rdm dropped the crap gauntlets. most of the quadavs in the area died after 4-5 hits.
Was lost in palborough with 3 other ppl n this guy spawned in front of us. Tried to kill him n we died. No we didnt kill the other quad round him 6 were still there n he still spawned for some reason they linked n we died.

Saw him at the end of a mining trip. Killed him and he dropped the Braveheart. Considering the mining trip had been terrible, it was nice to see.
Killed him as a WAR32/MNK16. Even without any armour on, he was quite easy.

I was wondering around trying to get to the egg room for WAR AF2, and I ran across this guy. I provoked him, hit the old Agressor/Berserk/Warcry macro and hit him witha Spinning Axe for 524 damage. He used Invincible right after that, but 30 seconds later he was as good as dead.

I fought him and got the Braveheart on the first time with TH. Fought him 3 other times and just the gauntlets XP
