Vana'diel Bestiary: Zi'Ghi Boneeater  

I've been camping this guy for 3 days now, along with Howlblade (got 2 Marine Shields, but their pretty cheap on Ifrit >_<), i've killed him 5 times and gotten 5 coarse gauntlets. I missed him once and the BLM that got him got the gauntlets as well. At least I got a good amount of Gil from Quadavs and the stuff they drop, selling stuff to the shop does help.

I was dreading having to camp this thing for my Drk, but it didn't turn out too bad. As soon as I enter the room, he pops! I kill him no sweat with my 34mnk/war, and got coarse leggings. I wait. I wait somemore. 3 hours later (good thing there was a good movie on TV), he pops again! Bam bam bam, he dead, plus, a brand new Bravheart! Boy was I happy.

I'm on the Phoenix server and I never saw one person that camped this NM, they all just passed through. I had a friend on ls with a lvl 20 thf that was bored of fishing, so he agreed to come pt with me (and give me all the drops). Nice guy. I guess you can call me one of the "lucky ones" cause when we got to the room he was there- coarse gauntlets. We camped him twice more and :bingo: 1 braveheart lotted to me. By the way, I timed how long it took him to spawn. Both times it took him exactly 93 minutes. Now my drk will be awesome.... when he gains 6 more lvl. Good luck to you hunters out there.

I was helping a friend of mine get his first kazham key the otehr day, but it was getting late so I just logged right in the mines. The next day, I log back on and proceed to run towards the boat to zerehun mines. Guess who's right there waiting, none other then Zi'Ghi Boneeater. I attack, a Veteran Quadav links with him, I finish them both with ease, thanks to my insane evasion as a thief. I got the braveheart too! I couldn't believe my eyes. This guy isn't much of a challenge,but he does use invincible during the fight, which is kind of annoying.

Sorry to make the pain even greater Imsobob, but I got the drop while mining with my 35pld/17war. Decided to wait for one spawn and it actually dropped, I just couldnt believe my eyes when I saw it.

the only thing that has caused me to actually think of never playing final fantasy again is hunting any Notorious Monster. I swear someone very high up in the system is monitoring when I hunting Lizzy, or Spiny, or ZiGhi or anyone and is extending the freakin spawn times or decreasing the drop rates on me. I have sat for 4 hours(yes, real life hours, with wide scan at the rdy) 3 times waiting on Lizzy to spawn, killed her one of those times, and not even gotten a lizard tail with my 36 thf. Ive killed ZiGhi 12 times with my thf now in 2 days(1.5 hour respawn), Ive seen him killed 3 more times in that same 2 days, killed it with my ranger once also, and NO ONE has gotten the drop. Also, there are none on AH at all, so either no one has gotton drops while I was logged off, or people kept them. since when I am trying Im the only one there for the majority of the time, I dont think anyone has been getting it. All I can say is to the Powers That Be: dont punish others for my trying to get it or for my being there. I will buy the damm thing from them if I have to. And to the lucky monkeys that get it in less than 10 tries: I hate you.

plese dont complain if u dont get the drop from a farming experince if u dont use lvl 15 min thf sub, ur drop rate will be extremly affected.should always have lvl 15 thf for tresure hunter ability. I was there running trains as a 40 blm/15 thf and made 3k in gil just in 1 1/2 hrs while i helped a friend get the braveheart sword "ON FISRT DROP" Sorry to here all the wasted time farming and no drop though. use thf sub and make smiles all day long :)

anybody know the exact spawn time of this nm? and does it spawn every 1day(game)/1hour(life) or what? just need to know cause my drk is growing up to be a killer and is getting hungry for good stuff... thanks (#^.^#)

Level 20 WAR/ 8 THF.. solo camping this evil little thing and just tandem kileld Easy Prey quadav when he spawned.. I used a few quick poitons and attacked.. Invincibility is evil x.x

0 for 4 so far.

0 for 12 now.

Going for a goddamn record.

7 kills, 7 Coarse Gauntlets, and a death to delevel my 30 War. whee.

camped this guy all day got 3 bravehearts and 5 gauntlets so who knows about drop rate i think its just all luck and extremely random

Just wondering is he resistant to sleep while under the 2HR or if i slept him and waited would tha work?

It took me about 15 tries with a lvl 30mnk/12whm to finally get the drop (just started a drk and wanted that sword). All the rest were those gloves. Now that I dont ever have to camp him again, Ill share my stratagy as it may come in usefull to others. When clearing the room, clear either the greater or onyx quadav first before killing the placeholder veteran quadav. That way when you see the first quadav you killed respawn, you know that ziggy/veteran will be the next quadav to spawn and you tense up and can get ready(saves you a bit of eye strain). I have almost always locked him up before any other camper by getting out my dia cursor ontop of the first quadav respawn and just kept pressing ins/tab as I knew he would/may spawn very soon and as soon as I see the cursor change to ziggy i click with my mouse, which is much faster than any other player actually clicking on ziggy then pressing their macro(this really only works here because the area in which he spawns is so small, so dia reaches the entire room). The only time I didnt get him which was only once, was when someone trained a pile of quadavs into the room and I didnt even see him in the pile, but was more luck on his part as he wasnt camping ziggy in the first place. He drops the gloves most of the time, so all you can do is be patient and keep trying(easier said then done I know, but I eventually got Braveheart). After you kill him theres about an hour gap for a chance to spawn, so what I usually did was head to howlblade or if he wasnt there clear the bettles which are his place holders, the marine sheild that drops sold for about 3k on my server and some of my camping trips I came back with 2 or 3, you can just head to the edge of the refining machine and look over the edge to see if he spawned, and then you can just drop down over the edge if you want to get their quick.
