I camped him last night for 4 and a half hours, saw him pop ONCE and i didnt get him. I was clearing the Quads the whole time, never left sight of that room. 75 RDM with fast cast Dia will always beat WAR to it.

I hunted him for 6 hrs on the Ramuh server (lvl 23 whm 11 thf) and managed to kill it 4 times and i got 4 GAUNLETS, i think the drop rate for the braveheart has to be pretty low.... not hunting this guy again for awhile ;)
I was hunting him today with a couple of friends. I was in the H7 room clearing out every quad in sight. THen i look thru the grate and there he is! i start running thru the maze to him and a couple of quads aggro, I keep runnin cuz they con wrothelss, but then after a while a HUGE *** train came, I ran right to the Zhi'gi and id mighty strike. I start wahcking at it while 10 quads are attacking me. I kill the zhi'gi but it doesnt drop! only stupid guantlets. I'm down to 300 health atm ( I was at 400 when I saw it). And i star tkilling the otehrs meanwhile my friends are running towards me. I managed to kill them all ( so many I couldn't see myself in teh screen hah) with 100 hp remainging. Trying agin tomorow.

LoL! I ran into this BoneEater while I was helping a friend get 1 of 3 Kazham Keys. I knew about this NM but at the time I didn't realized that where I was going was thru his spawned area. I Voked him and completely tore him apart...And what do ya know...I got the "Braveheart" w00t!!!

This has to be easily one of the most undercamped NM's on my server. I've gotten him 9 times in a row, and only twice did I see anyone stay in his spawn area with me for more than 5 mins! I've noticed that you do NOT have to clear the adjoining room through the grate for him to pop, you DO have to clear the two hallways leading up to his room. Also his spawn rate seemed to average between 45 and 75 minutes RL. Out of those kills, I've gotten 4 Bravehearts, the rest were the crappy gauntlets. This easily paid for my two Balance Rings and a bunch of other +1 equip. Lastly, I was able to solo him just fine with my 25THF/WAR, even with a couple Greater's and Onyx's linking up. When you're done you can just take the nearby underground river raft back to the enterance of the Zehrun Mines! Happy Hunting! (btw the current going rate for this sword is 20-25K on my server)

ive killed boneeater 5 times, 4 gauntlets and 1 braveheart; with TH1. ive seen him spawn between 0:00 and 6:00.

it's not 1/3 chance to drop, I had been camping it for 2 days in a row and killed him many many MANY times but all I got was a **** load of those crappy gloves, and TH1 seems to be not helping either, I am a 31war/thf, however, it is true that it will spawn faster if the room is clean, I even clean out the "toolbox room" through the close gate to kill boredom :p, it also seems the more qvs you kill the faster it spawn because I had a time watch of 60 min and it spawned on me once at only little over 30 min, but over all it was a waste of 2 days for me :(
you don't need to go around and kill the quadavs in the area. you just need to kill the 3 quadavs in that room. there is always 3 different quadavs that spawn in that area. the Veteran Quadav is the placeholder Boneeater and so if you see a Veteran pop up, you can relax a bit because the NM won't be coming on that round. kill the 3 quadavs and wait again. got 2 bravehearts in 9 tries without treasure hunter.

I have camped it yesterday and have gotten 3 drops of braveheart and 4 course gauntlets in the time period of 4 hours. *Note that I trained all the quadovs in the f7-f8 area. To train efficiently, u need lev 28-30+(30 melee class preferably if u solo due to the job traits in def or att boost bonus.). Note that there are alot of noobs camping it along with the all knowing high level japanese PC's. To maximize ur chance of NM, clear the room in F7(room with pile of sand straight from boats.). Note that NM Zhi-Ghi boneeater spawns in that room. This room is also very efficient in training due to the fact that you will have a clear view to enfeeble the surrounding mobs.
*Note, do not not leave the main spawn room for any reason & if u do, do note wander far due to the fact that the ranger wide scan ability is very efficient in palboro due to its small parimeters and u will lose ur chances. Zhi'ghi has a 1/3 chance of dropping the braveheart GSD. Course gauntlets are usual drops from Zhi'ghi.
On a personal note, I trained with 30war/15pld. Clearing the immediate area may attribute highly to the spawn rate from my own observations. Also once Zhi'Ghi has spawned and has been defeated, you should move to 2nd foor I7 and camp pixie staff(25k). lotting with bettles in the area will trigger Bu'Ghi Haulblade to spawn.

I just got him today finally... Indeed, I believe all Quads that spawn in those two rooms in H-7 and H-8 have to be killed for him to spawn. Both times I've seen him both of those rooms had just been cleared.
Unfortunately, I only got course gauntlets :( But it does work. The best way is just like you said above, kill them in his room, then run around and kill them in the other room, then run back as fast as possible. When I saw him he had spawned within a minuite of the second room being cleared... your mileage may vary.
For me he was pretty easy to kill, though he does use invincible on himself, so time your WSs right so that you're not using powerful attacks when they're just going to hit for 0 anyway. And be careful since I finished him off with 289hp and a Greater Quadav had just spanwned o_0... He didn't aggro.
Also a note, someone said he'll call other quads from the other levels... This is not true. What happens is if he links through the grating between the rooms (this is true of any quadav you take on in those two rooms). On the run around to you, they will link with any and every quad buddy they can get their hands on. One time three of us got aggroed by about 8-10 onyx, greater, veteran quaddies... we miraculously survived that one (there were three of us, 22 war (me), 21 thf, 23 RDM), healed, and then accidentally did it again, but this time had around 13-15 on us o_0 and we were killed. so be careful with linking.
My suggested level is 23+ since at lvl 23 you won't be aggroed by Greaters anymore. (21 was aggroed by Greaters and Veterans, 22 was only aggroed by Greaters... 23, nothing will aggro in that area).

Ive waited 3 game days in that room and he didnt appear once, i wonder if this weapon is really worth it

I've killed this guy twice. Both times I was helping someone do the dragon in this area, running to the circle and see this NM. So I go and kill it, naturally. First time, he drops Coarse Gauntlets. Ick. Next time, helping a different guy a few days later, kill him and he drops Braveheart. Now that's more like it. Very convenient; as he is right on the path to the dragon.

Zi'Ghi calls up a bunch of Greater/Vet quads from level 2 of the mines to help him if he gets in trouble. I didn't realize this the first three times I killed him, because I was just nuking away from a hallway, but when I walked out, the quads got unstuck and rushed at me. Thundarga II saved me, but it was close =\
I tested it a few times fighting him in the open, instead of pulling him into a hallway, and they arrived in the middle of the fight. This time, however, as soon as I killed him they walked away. The times where I killed him and they didn't get there before he died, they continued to attack.

....If you have Thundaga II, these things won't even do any damage to you. He's a level 15 mob, the surrounding ones aren't much higher. Thundaga II is a lvl 61 spell.

Black mages are frail. So a group of low-level fighters would still do plenty of damage. But the fact of the matter is that he was high enough level to take them all down. And killing them one at a time (which is the only tactic that really works) still leaves the others time to pound on you.

Ok.... I know ppl hate hearing it but after reading the posts, I started hunting. First time as I thought nothing!!! Second time Braveheart=P!!! All I can say is patience pays off. The only downside was it was stolen once or twice!!! After I spent all that time making room for the spawn. Total time 3hrs.... Not too shabby!!! By the way I think the spawn time is around 1 1/2hrs real time!!!

I waited for 36 hours (game time ofcourse) for this guy to spawn in the indicated area... he never spawned?!? I was using the BST wide area scan repeatedly just to make sure. Are there only certain days that he spawns? The only thing that I have to show for my effort is I used a skeleton key on the chest and got a Flame Boomerang... which wasn't bad

Ok here's the deal with this guy. Im a lvl 31 THF and so I have treasure hunting. It took me 8 tries to get the BraveHeart to drop. He spawns about every 30 hours game time... so bring a book. Sometimes he takes a little longer... but you have to kill the Mobs in the area to free up the spawn slot for him. He uses the Pal invicibility skill when you get him below half life. Which means you do 0 damage for 30 seconds. There is no set time... like spawning from 0-3 on such and such day.... it's just a random time but about every 30 hours.

it seems that he spawns one of the days at 0-2 and the other at around 10-15. may just be random but thats what happened to me. i fought him twice and got 2 pairs of guantlets

I have seen him once at 10-1300, but then not again on the next day at that time. I'm assuming then he alternates between 10-1300 and 0-2 every day or so? I'm also guessing that you have to kill all six quadavs in the area (both on that side, and the other side) because when I had seen him spawn, we had just killed all the quadavs (on the wrong side lol).

Killed him 3 times yesterday. 1st Braveheart, 2nd Coarse Gauntlets, 3rd Coarse Gauntlets. And about 4K gil from killing other quads while waiting.
Just a warning, the two times I've fought him, he uses the Paladin's 2hr skill 'Invincibility', so you may have a hard time with him.

Yep got the gauntlets twice. Spawn time is much better than that of say lizzy maybe once or twice an hour, Id say. Seems klike every dang NM does me this way. I wish those people who are lucky enough to get a drop the first time would quit posting it in our faces, as it makes me all the more pissed when I spend hours and get nothing.
