An xp party took me to this place and we fought these very effectivly for a while. They have AoE Sleep & Paralyze. And they have some hard, stun, and tp draining attacks as well. But thats not the fun part.
When the NPC penguin is there, they are nomral behaved xp mobs that will not agro or link. But once that thing leaves....they begin to link. They are as hard as empty's to control when it comes to hate, and when a mage casts ANY spell, its as if they used Provoke on them. Not worth it...for how many flees we had to dodge to get there.
These mobs were nice & squishy during xp party. They have AoE sleep and Paralyze, as well as several hard and stun attacks, as well as one to eat TP. But once the NPC penguin leaves, they will start to link and any magic cast (on them or on anyone) it will act like a "Provoke".
Arrapago Apkallu are not charmable so any Beastmaster who wishes to charm one of these cute, little green birds (Protected by the Empire by the way.) don't try it.
They link but don't agro and I am told their hate builds up worse then Toonberry and Formor hate (Formors in CoP area) and the more hate you build up the worse their attacks can be.
Still have not heard if there is a way to get rid of the Arrapago Apkallu hate or not.
After npc apkallu disappeared, they rapidly gained hate towards members of our pt and started linking like crazy. When i erased a member of my pt or paralyna'd them, i would get soo much hate that the tank could not get them off of me.
Do not xp on these, its fun til the npc disappears, then u are screwed.
Out of pure curiosity my party on the way to the COR??? decided to kill one of these. They're DC @ 75.
They're pretty much a MNK type mob, they attack twice each round. They have an AoE Sleep move called "Yawn" and that's pretty much all they ever do. We fought two and only had them use Yawn for TP move.
We pulled one close to another to see if they would link and they didn't. It was right infront of the other so I think it's safe to say they don't link.
