Could a 50smn kill it? Have all avatars but fenrir. I wanna kill a tonberry cause they are my favorite monsters (next to cactuars and mandragora) and i wanna be able to kill one lol ty for any replies ty^^

I solo these, the Creepers and the Hexers (all EP-DC) all the time as 51DRG/WHM with "ease". They don't hit really hard and it's no problem to take them out with their elemental, because you should be able to kill the elemental (EP) before the Tonberry uses Throat Stab. It seems to be a hate reset or something because they always start beating my wyvern after stabbing me and I am able to cast Dia or Barfira to get a Healing Breath. I got killed only one time because I scored a critical hit and got aggro right after Throat stab which reduces my HP to about 16 of 869, always, even if I have only about 200 HP left. So it's possible as DRG/WHM but the Hexers CAN be annoying, if they cast Aeroga II which killed my pet after the Firaga (annoying beast, I don't know why I wasn't able to interrupt it with 4 hits -_-).
The Creepers are also annoying because they hit hard after some special attacks (100 dmg per hit.) But with enough MP not really dangerous.

These also drop Water Spirit Pacts.
that thing hit me with throat stab as a 54 pld for 800+ damage o_O was left with like 46 hp if I remember correctly, lol.

Reincarnations of the "Pug" creatures found seen in the later area of FF6 & 7. If you remember those nasty buggers...
They don't have the rediculous amount of HP like in the other games (They die rather fast actually). I am a RDM57 in partial AF and they conned Easy Prey to me so i figured i'd give them a shot. Found a camp of them on the EAstern half of Yhoater on my way to mine in Ifrits Cauldren.
With all the red mage buffs on they didn't stand much of a chance...
HOWEVER, this guy (Harasser), used a Special called "Throat Stab" that did ~630 damage to me with a worn out stoneskin on. Not sure if this is just a massive damage special or a "reduce HP to 1/4" move, or if the other Tonberry's use it. I really don't want to find out, :/
Got some xp, a few light crystals and a poison potion out of the deal. If you want try to solo these be careful, and be at least lvl55-ish.
