I just got a pair of these last night on Bismarck, this BC fight is not hard at all and currently my static is 1/3 on Barbarossa's Zerehs and 3/3 wins on this BC.
Targeting the Captain Stratgey:
There are a total of 4 mobs in this BC, 2 imps both are the same level as Heraldic Imps in C. Mire, the main NM are Cutthroat Kabsalah (corsair) and his pet Buddy or Bubbly (Opo-opo) can't remember the exact name. Killing the imps should prove no problem for a party of six especially when compared to the preveious quests. Next, pull the opo-opo, if possible try to pull him without getting the Kabsalah's attention it is possible. Unfortunately, last night when we pull the pet seconds later Kabsalah followed. Our static is nin/war, blu/thf (myself), blm/rdm, rdm/blm, rdm/whm, and thf/nin. Our thf did all the pulling and kited Kabsalah as myself and the nin spanked the monkey. Afterwards, our nin took over for kiting myself and the thf focused on meeleeing. Mages did there thing casting elemental spells, dots, and cures so often, this NM is beast if you don't have shadows of some kind up or stoneskin he hits hard and fast. This BC goes went on for us about 8 minutes, once the NM died our chests popped and we had our thf w/ his THII+1 opened the chest and behold a pair of Barbarossa's Zerehs dropped and I won the lot.

Does anyone have an actual strategy for these BCs, or knows a link that does?
I saw a taru wearing these, but because he was a taru I couldnt see much. Someone please post their pics!

Ok... I think we are something like 0/20 now. We get the third chest (close to) everytime, does anyone have any clues as to wether this affects droprate of the pants? What I mean to ask is, did anyone ever get the third chest and also Zerehs?

the drop rate was very rare. you could do this bc as many times as you like before the recent update. you can now only do it once a day. (not sure if it is RL or van day though) I am unsure about the drop rate either since update. I will be running this again on the 29th. hopefully, but doubtful, it is a 100% drop with the daily restrictions now. I will post up after the bc and let you know
Can anyone confirm this? I heard it's 10% drop rate. And is it unlimited of tries?

No they drop in the new BC's added in update. I don't really know all the details but Barbarossa is the 3rd BC in a series.
Here is what i know...you must be past mission 15 on ToAU to get the BC's (well i read this dont' know for a fact) but the BC's are in the same place as the BC for mission 15...on that ship.
if you want to know the starting NPC check the forum for the barbarossa hand piece there is a post on there about it too.
also there is a pic on killingifrit forums under ninja of someone who got the drop in the BC.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and just say this
SE added the 3 Troll general's as regular NM's that can just be killed whenever (as long as they're up heh) so im guessing find Barbarossa and ull find ur pants. I would assume he's on Mt. Zhaolym or however u spell it

How much do you want to bet you're going to have to kill a rediculous NM in Besieged for an ultra rare drop and then lot against 500+ people to get these? Why SE, Why?
Ok...for those who don't know its ridiculous with an I, not REDiculous. I see TONS of people mispelling this and I don't know why, its pretty simple.
