oops wrong button,
could someone please direct me. i got my coffer key in 3 fights last night and now i need to find the chest. i've been looking around the bone room for hours but all i found was a treasrue chest. where does the chest pop the most offten????

PS- I really recommend you check the north one, accessed from Beaucedine Glacier, first. It gets stuck up there a lot. And if it's not there, you can run straight down to Batallia to keep checking the rest.

http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/ is a much better site for maps and coffer spawns and all kinds of other map-related things. Just click on Eldieme Necropolis and click Show Treasure.
Just did this tonite with 75PLD 71THF and 74WHM. within 30min, not only did I get my coffer key, we got a 2nd which the PLD took for his efforts^^! Luckily, he had also marked the spawn points for the coffers, and in no time, (after an NM fight, skelly type ???) we found the coffer. Waited for mobs to turn away, got the gaunlets, and re-sneaked then <flee>.
Imediatly had a 65BST from LS join to fight Dark Spark. We had done it before, when I didn't have my quest flagged. This time, we died before it's health got to 1/4 T_T as the others got sleepy, and were done for the nite. oh well. next to perfect AF run!

I got lucky on this, was getting coffer keys for 4 people, including myself, in less then 2 and a half hours we had them all. I later went back and found the coffer chest in the first spawn location I checked. Unfortunatley I deleveled in Castle Oztroja trying to get the coffer key there :(

Dang that sucks i was just in that place the other day with a 75 thf and got 2 keys in 30 mins but he poped a chest after he got the key and then he got the second key... i hope i can get key fast this time.
got my coffer today less then 10 mins this time spent over 6 hours camping it b4. found it in the open room on far west room not where the bomb pop in the open room on the side. when i saw the coffer i was happy i run over to it opened it got my old gauntlets. did a few tells and shouts on ls. didnt see my sneak wear then started walking got an aggro by wolf ran a little more knew i wasnt going to make it. then started using trick staff II. would have make it but moved at 80% tryed again and died right when i warped. lucky me hp was in jeuno and got a r3 in less then 5 mins^^ just need to get a pt for the flame :/ those gloves better be wroth all this.^_^.
damn... Eldeime Necropolis is friggen retarted... took me about 10 hours to get a damn key... now I've been sitting here camping the coffer for 5 hours, its getting to be quite ridiculous.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, anyone that has to get this coffer is in for a long, PATIENCE NEEDED, experience.

Next time think it threw, if there is no coffer pop in the battalia downs side its on the beucidine glacier side. I looked around for mine for about 10 min, then ran over to the other side and got it in the time that it took to walk there.

Can anyone tell me, if you have a THF in your coffer party and he picks the lock of the coffer do you get the AF item or not. Can this even be done?

unfortunately no, the thf picking the lock will recieve in the party treasure pool the item that comes out fo the coffer normally, and respawn the coffer elsewhere. you gotta find your key.
you know aside from looking really cool... i think i would preffer the +3acc from my RK gloves... but on the other hand these would be very very nice using in an equip macro with Weapon Bash
Why is the Topaz Quadav Blood needed?

The topaz blood is needed to spawn the NM for the DRK af helm. The blood has nothing to do with the gloves^^.

its not orc blood its a Topaz Quadav's blood that you need

Just want to add one small addendum to the requirements for this quest. I couldn't get this quest until I started the AF2 quest by talking to Cid. Once I did that, then Guslam coughed up the quest details.

I got the map but i forgot the exact <pos>. The Tomb Mages, Tomb Warriors and Spirrigans can be found under any of the piles of bones all the way on the left side of the map. I reccomend buying a map because it shows the exits when you are in that scary place.

The Lost Manitou Arm Guard of Bolghertz
Prerequisets: To have cleared the AF1 quest. Dark Knight of LV50 at least.
Recommended PT configutration: 2 members of LV55 at least. (for the key). 6 members for the latter part.

Start: Guslam - Upper Jeuno / Protective Equipment Shop
Talking to Guslam: Somewhere in the world, there told to be The Arm Guard which was specially manufactured by Bolghertz, a craftsman whose maitrise was one in a hundred years...
1.) Acquire the 'Old Arm Guard' from the Treasure Coffer in the Eldieme mound. The keys are dropped by Tomb Mages, Tomb Warriors, Spriggans and Haunts.
The location of the Coffer is currently confirmed at the following places:
- The room of F-8
- The place fallen down from the room G-6
- The place fallen down from the room G-9
- The small room in the north after falling down from G-8
- The room of Utukku at the mound located in the path from Beaucedine Glacier to Batallia
2.) Talk to Guslam at the Protective Equipment Shop in Upper Jeuno, and talk to the mithra Yin Pocanakhu at Tenshodo. Investigate ??? in front of the tax-free shop and an event takes place. And make a contract with Bolghertz. Then you are told to bring 'Flame of Darkness' from the Castle Zvahl.
3.) Go straight the crossroad of the Castle Zvahl Baileys, and at the furthest place where demons flock together, there is the Torch. Investigate it and an NM 'Dark Spark' appears. Kill it and get the flame of darkness.
4.) Bring it to Port Jeuno and investigate ??? in front of the tax-free shop, and get the Arm Guard.

I i just completed my AF2, and i am looking to start my Af3 i cant seem to find information on where this quest begins, so if anyone could post a link or tell me who i talk to to begin this quest... thanks alot.
