I got a cold bone off the second Doom Soldier i killed in Cape Terrigan in the area just in front of the outpost with all the bushes, that night at least 2 or 3 poped in that area, and some might pop on the ledge that is just NE. They'll lottery spawn from various gobs killed in the same area, so i just camped at the outpost and pulled all the gobs i could see, if you take on the bst type gobs make sure their pets don't link with surrounding bunnies.

This really suxs. I dont know how many h i have spend in gustav tunnel (likely 8h+) and how many Doom mages i have killed but no drop so far.
I went to Cape terrigan but i only saw 1 doom soldier and it was claimed lol.
Is there anyone out there who accually got a cold bone from a Doom soldier in Gustav tunnel?

I've had "Nothing Matters" logged before BLM artifact and had no problems in acquiring my gear. I still haven't gotten the Cold Bone after a few attempts in Gustav while farming Doom Mages for Blizzaga III.
On three or four separate days I've killed Doom Soliders in Toraimarai Canal for about 3 or 4 hours each. I have never seen this drop. I did some rough math and I've killed just over 100 Doom Soldiers. I don't count the Doom Mages since it doesn't say anywhere that they drop it.

I did the same thing, with the Doom Soldiers in Toraimarai Canal and Gustav Tunnel & never saw Cold Bone. Have not been able to find Doom Soldiers in Cape Terrigan. I've heard Fantasmas (ghosts) in Cape Terrigan also drop the Cold Bone, but haven't been able to find any of them either. :(

Im bout to go looking for a Cold bone right now. They going for 100k on Valfor right now, and they unrelated to af quest by the way

50k would be nice but on fairy its gone from 100k to the more recent entries at 140k!
the AH on Garuda has it going for 60-80k. I posted mine up for 75k.
The cold bone and the warm egg free up the "nothing matters" quest which may be blocking the start of "The Root of the Problem" quest (AF1-3 Wizard's Petasos (hat)). Once old Koru-Moru is locked into something you cannot get him to do anything else. The 50,000 gil price tag for the cold bone might have something to do with that quest locking and unlocking potential, for those who want their AF hat. What category at the AH is the cold bone in?

No, but the NPC that gives out this quest also does the AF quest that was mentioned. Why somebody would buy this for 50k is so they could finish this quest and move on to the AF quest. ^^

I was having similar problems with Shantotto when it came time for me to do my BLM AF quest bc I had activated Warp II quest but never completed. In a fit of rage of decided flip Shanto off maybe times in a row and some where in all that typeing i hit enter 2x and got her to talk again and give me blm af speech i needed.
Whenever present with the problem of an NPC saying something for one quest (such as Nothing Matters) and needing the NPC to say something for a different quest (such AF) just talk to them several times in a row. if you have met all requirements then the NPC will eventually say what he/she/it needs to say to you (or give you as the case may be)

This thing is 50k on my server... and from what I can see it's only good for a quest with a 9k reward. Anyone know why? O_o
This is used in the quest "Nothing Matters", from Koru-Moru in Windurst Waters.
