I am having a problem. When ever I try to synth these it says "Synthesis canceled. That combination of materials cannot be stnthesized." and I know I have the correct items. Can someone help me out?
The only thing I would think it could be, and I had this same type of problem one time, is make sure your using earth crystals, I've used wind crystals and things that need earth, not thinking and just assuming "woodworking uses wind crystals" but besides that I have no idea what the problem could be
The day, the lunar cycle, the crystal and your current skill lvl. are the deciding factors on whether or not you get a +1 or not. For example if you use a Light crystal on darksday there will be more of a chance that it will fail, but theres a higher chance that you'll get a +1 and if your skill lvl is 'x' lvls higher than the item you are trying to create you have a higher chance of +1's. Though it's a vague explanation I hope that answers some questions.
Between the Wooden Arrows and Stone Arrows. I can't see any difference between them (besides that stone arrows are 400 more gil then wooden). Does it effect your skill-ups or what?
Needing a total of 3 'ingredients' and 2 types of crystals, these are quite easy to make.
There are 3 main parts to the arrow, and each part needs to be 'carved' with a wind crystal before you can 'bond' the arrow together. The arrow's head, shaft, and tail all have to be built individualy:
This makes 2 stacks of 99 arrows. Obviously, you could only buy (or procure through other methods) half the amount of crystals and lumber, but since the arrowheads and fletchings are made in quantities of 6, I'd rather just get rid of them from my inventory altogether, rather than be left with 3 of each.
I'm from Bastok (why they pronounce it Bas-took is a mystery to me, anywho) and go to Sandy once in a while just to do some logging in East Ron for Arrow and Maple Wood. Heh, although I occasionally get the useless Chestnut(s)...btw, they just don't sell in any of the 4 major cities. The Stone arrows have three advantages...1. you can make them despite craft skill (although, you'll lose some items in the process from time to time)2. The items needed for these arrows are extremely easy to obtain at little cost. 3. and most importantly, they sell extremely well. As far as making these with just logs and not lumber...I tried and it does not work. And getting 66 arrows in one make, not that it's impossible or ppl are lying, but I've yet to see such a result and I've been doing this for quite some time.
I've got a woodworking skill of only 11 and I synthed an arrowwood log into two lumber, and immediately followed it up with a synth of 66 Stone Arrows, so I can attest that it does happen (and that I got very lucky for having it happen at such low level).
Yes, if oyur skill level is high enough you can get +1 to an item (Like using arrowwood log to make 2x Arrowwood Lumber), or +33 (Like making stone arrows and making 66 at once).
Actually, from what I've heard it does also have something to do with your level. As your crafting skill level gets higher than the trivial point you have a higher chance of getting a +1 or more result, or in this case 66 arrows.
