I heard you could trade this item for a map of Rangemount Pass. Is this true? If so, where/who do you trade it?

No. You can use a Quadav Charm (which drops from De'Vyu Headhunter) to open a jail door in I-8, which you need to do for a quest you get in Selbina. Once this is done, return to the guy in Selbina and you'll get the map of Ranguemont Pass. The NPC in Selbina is Thunder Hawk (the galka at the mayor's office door).

its not ex., but it is rare, not in AH nor can you send it, but you can trade it, (sold it for 13k each, 39k for me!) and have it in bazaar, im not gonna be doing this mission for a while anyway....
Yes, the item can be bazaared normly around 5k it can't be sold on auction house also you do not have to go all the way arond to get him he can be pulled down from the entrance with provoke and or magic spells.
umm... actually i believe this is one of those rare exceptions where although it is not "ex" it can not be sold through the AH... the Tarut cards are another good example of this condition... you can trade the cards with other players, but can't sell em at the AH.... i happened to pick one of these shells up from a bazaar for 500 ^_^ guess i was just lucky

This mob is located at F6, u must pass two bridges to get there, in an area with huts and 5 other quadravs near him, so wait to he right moment to pull him away.
Is this ex? It'd be nice if it wasn't and just buy it at the AH.
though, I'm pretty sure you can sell this out of your bazaar... question is, how much are people willing to pay for this thing?

Correct, you cannot sell this rare at an AH.
