This recipe information is not correct. It takes 2 silk cloth not 1.
Dunno how you can say this synth blows unless the economy on your server is way different than mine. On Ragnarok if you were to purchase all the materials for 12 synths from the AH you'd be paying about 680k. Each NQ sells for 60k. so even if you go 12/12 NQ's you're coming real close to breaking even including AH fees. If you HQ even 1 of those synths (since it's tier 1 thats pretty likely to happen) you just made 800k. Nowadays in this economy 800k is pretty nice, especially when the NQ synth is break even. A lot of other synths are huge losses and you will only break even or make a tiny profit if you can HQ at least once.
Heehee just woke up at 4 am and got the urge to try one of these, after being 98 weaver for almost 2 and a half years and never hqing one i just went 1/1 on windsday new moon just for fun. Obviuosly this synth kinda blows now as its only like a 1.5 million profit cuz economy is ****** but this was more of a personal thing for me =)

usually on odin things are really expensive but Black Cloak goes for i think max 100k but for some reason i thought i saw it in the AH for 20k. either way i think ppl just want teh HQ ver more than NQ so NQ is liquidated
i picked this up in dec for 150k on my server prolly gonna sell vermy tho for demons
The price of this jumped from 1 million to 3 million in 2 days.

is the refresh effect on demons cloak any stronger then that of the black cloak?
Unfortunately no.
Would you suggest a BLM to have this cloak or the Vermillion Cloak?

Black Cloak is better. That +8 Elemental magic helps with resists.
Why do these things have to have "cannot equip headgear"? >< It is a tough coice between this cloak and dropping two pieces of AF (the hat being probably the best piece followed closely by the gloves) Only if the AF body had +10 elemental magic instead of enfeebling.... the choice would be a no brainer :/

um, BLM af hat sux ? 25MP and a meager 4 INT is all but great. Shaman cloak has 4 INT and 25 MP already, black cloak got 4 INT. . .if you wanna see a really good af hat, look at rdm (INT+elemental skill+enhances fast cast). 4 INT isnt much at lvl60 anymore. And the af body is only good for solo actions (enfeebling & some VIT). So i can't see why anyone should seriously hesitate to trade. . .
And about -enmity. . .right. . .BLM hate is far more about thinking before nuking because the (possible) dmg output is just too big for some -enmity to handle it.
EDIT: only real good pieces of BLM AF are hands (15 elemental magic for nukes / elemental enfeebles) and pants (15 dark magic for drain/aspir/stun).

I know BLMs love there af hat but the refresh stat that stacks with red mage refresh and ballads and drinks. And it's much cheaper than Ver cloak or it looked that way.

i love this cloak so much im hopeing to wear all the way till endgame
They really should change the effect to say Mage's Ballad as Refresh gives 3mp and this version of Refresh gives you 1mp, like Ballad. Of course, I may be wrong on the mp of rdm Refresh, as I don't get it a whole lot. But still, I'll take that 1mp!
Well, there are different strengths of Refresh from different juices, ranging from 1 MP per tick to 3 MP per tick. As far as I know, any armor with Refresh effect is 1 MP per tick. Also, SMN's Auto-Refresh is 1 MP per tick.

doesent the items to chlothscraft cost more than the cloak itself? i still cant wait to get this cloak its gonna rock then i go hang out with some newbs and they will worship the ground i walk on..MUUUHAHAHAHAHHAAAA!!!!

this is how alot of crafting goes.. u either HQ or you loose a lot of gils
actaully i figured out on my server the clock sells for at least twice the price of materials.
Surprisingly, I did a rough calculation, and found that the items used are roughly equal in price to the finished product. A little less than the finished, so you can make a small profit, but about the same. The HQs are going for about 1.5mil-2mil. The lowest I have seen the HQ was about 1.45mil. I figured too that, just like Amemit, the items would be more than the result.
This isn't fair... just isn't fair. No offense, but I hate you BLM's and S-E all at the same time. Blm SUPER ARMOR, 150k, Whm SUPER ARMOR 10 million. Well.. not your fault I guess.. but I hate you like a jealous wife hates a mistress!

Yea...one of the reasons i switched to blm is bcuz of that nobles cloak....but dont forget that nobles cloak lets u wear a hat and this cloak doesnt let you wear that oh so awesome blm hat >.<;
If it makes you feel any better, Igqira Weskit (the new BLM "SUPER" armor) is 2mil on Asura.... <_<

A lot of that is due to the fact that the items used to synth the Noble's/Aristocrats armor are a LOT more rare and much harder to come by. Raxa is easily farmed from NMs, where as Shining cloth has an extremely low drop rate from the mobs. I'm sure as more and more people get to the 'end game' Lv, and more people start killing gods and HNMs, the price of the WHM JSE will slowly start to decrease.I don't think it will happen fast or in large numbers, but it will happen eventually.
this hit 45k on Ragnarok last week. i bought one and put it away in storage because i figured that's about the lowest it'll sell for.
It's 200K on Midgardsormr with the Demon Cloak going for more than 10 times that. /sigh...
according to this site, raxa and damascene are only dropped off high level mobs. lowest level mob listed to drop raxa is 77, lowest level mob listed to drop damascene is 55. so how is raxa easier to get, is there some place that sells it that i don't know about. (damascene currently selling for about 550K, compared to raxa @30K)

Its because the "level 55 mob" is actually a HNM where as most people dont exp off HNMS but they do exp off of golems. I'm guessing you're referring to king artho who is also a somewhat heavily camped HNM on many servers. Theres another reason, the damascene cloth only drops off HNMs as far as i see
It may have something to do w/ the drop rate
a lot of ppl around lv73-75 have xp pt in sky, and raxa is drop from the xp mobs golem, ppl are basically killing these lv 77 mob for hours and chain#5
so there is a greater chance for the raxa to drop
and damascene cloth are drop by BCNM(30 kindred seals), or crab NMs(which have very long spawn time and are highly camped)
thats y the chance for ppl to get the raxa are much higher than damascene, and damascene are use to make vermillion cloak which could be used in lower level and all job than the black cloak, both with refresh effect. which explains y raxa is cheaper than damascene

Well, be great to tell us your server. Servers don't share AH's. By the way, is it hard for you to look in the AH? ;P
Most crafted materials are priced based on materials used in the synth. Not what it does. Go look at vermillions synth list. Then look up the price of in the AH materials in AH and you'll figure it out. Trust me.. you'll see =)

I'm on Ifrti Server, and can someone explain to me why this cloak costs 100k at the AH in Jeuno, and the Vermillion cloak costs 3 million? Seem pretty comparable to me...
1) Vermillion Cloak is level 59, 9 levels lower than Black Cloak
2) Vermillion Cloak is usuable by more than 1 job (8 to be exact)
3) Materials: Raxa is a lot easier to come by than Damascene Cloth.

Prives amount to several hundred thousand on my server. The HQ Demon Cloak costs millions.......
I cannot wait to wear this....or better yet the Demon Cloak.....

You should look up Demon's Cloak then.
I dont know if its equipable to BLM or not, but Vermillion is also very, very nice. I think Vermillion is better suited for WHM/SMN though, I may be wrong in that. But I do know that the Demon Cloak is a better than Black Cloak. Harder to get, however.
