I was just getting skillups on this at 31. But no failures either.
I'm guessing it caps in the mid to low 30s.

My smithing is 35 and I made one. Was successful, but I did get a .1 skill up.
I only made one cuz I wanted to use some gear that I signed. ^^

lol i got it for free. along with a ring that has strenth +2
Same here, from a PLD/WAR friend who quit. Holding them and his Eisen/Kampf gear in case he returns. :'(

I was level 25 Smithing and I was able to initiate the synthing of this weapon but failed it, losing both sword and ingot. It was nighttime with 88% full moon.

At 29 smithing this is successfull about 3/4 of the time, with healthy skillups.

Got the recipe! I don't know what skill level yet, but this is crafted with:
1x Fire Crystal
1x Mercenary Sword
1x Iron Ingot
