I try to get this shield and Aspir Knife last nite. I work it out with lv17 RDM/WAR (me) and a lv19 BLM/WHM. Zxuu Buxu the Silent is pretty easy to us since we have Shell, Protect and Barstone. We manage to kill the mob and other 2 worms twice and each of us got the shield (statistically, 100%).
Spwan tile is about 15min (real time).
P.S. No THF is required.

EX mean it is exclusive items and it CANT be trade

paralyze is an ice based spell... this4vs ice put me on no paralyse from 14 till recent...:)
He's pretty hard, struggled with him with a small group of 12's
The shield is pretty decent till you can get the Fish Scale shield.

Also, it cannot be traded to PC or sold in bazaar or AH, however it can be traded to NPC which leads me to believe it may be a quest item.. can anyone confirm this?

This shield is marked with a green ext. (extrordinary?) and dropped by a level 16 Yuggado Ninja by the name of Zhuu Bu the Silent who resides in Gideus. Zhuu Bu will stand back next to 2 earth worms and use ranged attacks, or if you melee him, his hench worms will cast various spells on you... bind, earth, etc. He seems to drop the shield frequently.

i think EX means its Exclusive... hence then no trade or sell

EX means exclusive. You can't sell on AH or Bazaar or trade to players. But you CAN sell it to NPCs.
