when u turn in a +1 version of the item requested you get alot more points. most of the time +1 versions are way more expensive but in some cases they are actually cheaper. So check the +1 versions as well. Not to mention ash pole +1 aint hard to make so if you keep some ash lumber around and some wind crystals. you can make the ash pole +1 and get your points easier. at lvl 57 the guy was still requesting ash poles from me from time to time. So keep that in mind.

Look at Hachoo's posting date, Rikonzero...

Besides, Andreas DOES tell you how many points he will give you... each day has a new item, and each item has a different amount of GP you can earn each day. He doesn't tell you how much he will give for a single item though.

In hachoo's case, he could have turned in 4 zamburaks to top off his GP for that day.
Define the +1

Guys I was wondering exactly what the +1 does. Does it level your woodworking up quicker or is it just a better chance to make HQ or what?

Should I stop leveling woodworking to buy these first or just keep leveling woodworking till I can get it. Woodworking is currently at 48

maple tables
# Oct 28 2004 at 4:13 PM Rating: Decent
as a lvl 28 woodworking i was assigned to make a maple table to get up to 3k something points, not bad since they r ez to make, and each table is worth about 158 guild points, not bad, and a stack of maple table is only 2k (ramuh), so its not all that bad

maple tables are okay, but don't even think about doing maple wands or maple harps. Especially the harps are totally bogus, with their 12 (15 for +1) points...

The way it works is you can recieve the max number of points from a given item per day. That does not mean that you get that many points per item.

Example:
-you can recieve up to 5000 points for turning in "item x"
-you turn one in, you get 1000 points.
-you can turn in 4 more of this item this RL day to recieve the maximum 5000 points.

The trick is to find those items which are inexpensive to buy or craft and turn those in.
only 250k

Wow so you would only have to pay about 250,000 gil for the Crafters equipment if the other items were around the same price.
My Experience
# Apr 30 2004 at 2:23 AM Rating: Default
Perhaps you can learn something from my experience in all this.

Talked to Andreas in Carpenter's guild. I signed up as level 57 wood. She told me that I could get UP TO 5790 guild points if I turn in a Zamburak(lvl 43 wood) within 9 Vanadiel days.

I had one laying around from leveling Marksmanship and got all excited. I ran to my MH to grab the one I bought from Jeuno for 5k just 3 days earlier. When I turned it in, I got 1490 points!!! What a rip off! She then told me to turn in some more Zamburak for UP TO 5790 again.

There is no freakin way I'm turning in 50 of them to get the gloves.

So I decide to blow 200 guild points on a "High quality" wind crystal named cyclone crystal. You would think I would get HQ synth from this, but noooooooooo. I used it on a Holly Log during a
Watersday and it not only not give me like 4 lumbers, IT FAILED!

So sad.../cry

the cyclone crystal only adds your name to nonstackable items :(
Points per item?
# Apr 25 2004 at 7:38 PM Rating: Decent
How many points are your items giving you? Is is a set amount or a range?
If it's 1 pt. per item, there's no way anyone could afford this so I'm wondering how much the items have been giving you? Please tell your skill lvl and item too, perhaps the higher skilled items give more.
RE: Points per item?
# Jun 03 2004 at 11:57 AM Rating: Decent
the points per item are assesssed each day at 11am EST when the item changes. Points are derived somehow based on how valuable the item is to an NPC. you are given an item usually 5 to 10 levels below your current skill level, and it is not necessary to acually craft the item. you can go to an NPC and buy it, or you can go to the AH.

I check it every day, and if its something that i can buy for cheap, then i will buy it. If i can fraft it cheap, i will craft it. if it costs to much to craft or buy based on the points i get, i'll skip it and wait for the next assignment.

Hope this helps a bit.

how do you determine how many points an item will give without turning one in?
RE: Points per item?
# Jul 09 2004 at 9:01 AM Rating: Decent
i *think* it is 1/4 to 1/5 the vaule of the item that an NPC will sell it for, and 1/2 the vaule they would buy it.

most of the items i have turned in follow this pattern, but i have had a few deviations.

Guild Points:
# Apr 24 2004 at 5:32 AM Rating: Decent
Guild points are new to the patch, while I can't speak from personal experience, it seems that what happens is you when you have a certain rank in a quild, you talk to a new npc at the guild, and they ask you to craft as much of an item as possible.

You trade the item they ask for to them, and then they give you guild points.

You in turn can exchange your guild points for items (like conquest points).

Cool concept.
Guild Points
# Apr 23 2004 at 9:28 AM Rating: Decent
Guys it's part of the new patch. The thing is, there is a new NPC by each of the guilds. Talk to her (or him). For example, I at the Culinary guild spoke with the new Mithra NPC. She told me I could sign up, and I did. I have 24 hours (earth time) to synthesize as much Iron Bread as possible. Iron bread is just the item I was told to synthesize, based on my Cooking skill level. I turn these items into the mithra in return for Culinary Guild Points. I can later trade these guild points in for "exclusive items available only from the guild." Meaning you can't buy them anywhere else, and the only way to get 'em is to take a shot at this...umm..quest I guess you could call it. You can only have one contract with any one guild at a time. I currently have it with cooking, but I plan to go to woodworking soon. When I switch to woodworking and talk to THAT npc, then I will forfeight any culinary guild points that I have not spent. I hope this was clear enough for ya'll.
Uhhhhh.....

70,000 guild points? Sorry, but I've never even heard of guild points before in my life. Is it new in the patch or does he mean gil?
