Got it today :D dropped off Duke Scox DRK nm in Xarcabard, 5/6 at last Woot!

This piece is one of the last i need to get for full set, i have 4/6 so far, within 3 runs in xarcabard, i have missed 2 of the runs, and both runs it had dropped ; ; and seen as im the only DRK seeking it, it would have gone to me, people say this piece is useless, i dont agree.
There are situations where a drk does not need to stack on accuracy or strength, and is in a main tank role (when soloing, helping with NMs, campaigns etc.)
This piece is great when going head on, HP boost, great defence, VIT +7, i know that when i get hit, i only have 225 evasion capped, so im bound to be hit often by an easy prey at 75, i have found that bringing in my AFv2 set at this point is great, theres a lot of defence in the set compared to my other sets, and boosts my dark magic, which makes absorbs stick better, and drains and aspir to take more, anyone who has soloed as DRK, knows that those moves are essential to stay alive.
Also the one great thing about this piece, that people overlook, is enhance paralyze effect. DRK already gets an enhance paralyze, no other job gets this, it is one of the best traits DRK gets, when you go to fight an NM that does a nasty paralyze move, having this piece on gives you the best chance to resist it, meaning you can keep swinging that scythe/GS away with your Attack boost, while all the others are working through it, i have seen instances of this in game, and wished i had my AFv2 headgear there.
At the end of the day though, this is DRKs crown, it look badass, and all DRK should look to have one... i wish i had mine.

its come to my attention that most of DRK AF2 is crap. however this does seem to have one particular time for usage and that would be in dynamis. same goes for the rest of the set macro'd in of course with AF and JSE. no real reason to attain this armor unless your doing dynamis, well other than looking totally sexy posing for everyone in lower jeuno.

hopefully ill be getting this helm soon awesome for melee then macro in chaos helm for ws. until i can get a better ws macro (n head yes plz) but anyway yeah this is a great melee piece i think armada celeta would be better along with onyx celeta but those are very expensive so great normal attack piece for any drk trying to save cash

Got this helm free lot from Dynamis Xarc. and all I gotta say is, this helm is a joke, in fact most of the drk AF2 is, asside from the gloves, just look at the lol Abyss legs, Mind "Magic Defence" and Dark magic, granted dark magic skill is great to switch in for absorbs drain and aspir, other than that its trash, and the helm....god wtf SE I'll take Souleater Enhance off Chaos over attack+10 HP+30, at least make it MP+30 high lvl drk's shouldn't get hit so wtf at Vit+, when you compare this to something like Valor Surcoat, its just trash ;_; which is a shame, I luv the look of the set just hate the stats

ya... uh... MND is a guillotine mod.
First off this is probably the best head gear to wear (besides Adman Celata, i think, idk maybe not) First off the 10 Atk. is really nice, the most Atk. we can wear in the head slot. Second the +30 HP! now that can definitly save your *** in some situations. Than the +7 Vit can never hurt ;p I think DRKs have the second highest VIT in the game so that is pretty sweet. and who doesnt like the resist paray. effect, although it shouldnt be a reason your main reason while wearing this. Hope this helps ;) (the 30 HP reeally caught my attention, PLDs would prolly go nuts for 30 HP and 7 VIT ^^;
Nah, DRG, SAM, and WAR have about the same or greater depending on sub. MNK straight out have more though... alot more (Tested it)
wow, it seems like DreamsofDarkness is the only smart one here and notices the att. and y does anybody care if it has the vit? this helm is good for everything a drk does, from xping to ballista.
The VIT+7 is very nice, but by this point, DRK will never get hate with /thf. DRK do lousy damage with GS, but amazing WS damage.

does anyone know if there is a single thread that covers the AF2 gear? i've been looking and i can't seem to find anything, just individual pieces scattered here and there. any help would be greatly appreciated.

well i know this is going to sound wierd but the only reason i want the set is because it looks bad-a$$ lmao XD i have a tarutaru drk and ive seen like 5 tarus with all there drk Afset and the relic set and it looks phuckin sweet =D but i would only use the necessary pieces for pts that would help me out but the rest are to "Show-off".

Well that is a retarded comment, as someone said not every piece of equipment enhances your strengths.
Why? because there are situations that call for a more balanced stance, stocking up on str and att may be the way to go in exp parties when you kill IT+ but against T and lower most of that big str and att gives very diminished returns.

Because RSE, AF, AF2, etc. isn't always simply to boost your specialty, but also to help cover your weaknesses.
so they can survive an attack... DRK get a lot of hate w/ all thier ATK boosts

Why does drk have vit+7?

Last time i heard anthing about VIT was that Steel Cyclone was modified by it. Since a DRK can get that WS, then this piece would be useful only when using Great Axe.
It has +10 attack and Vit to protect you from the extra hate you get
Wouldn't the +10 Attack be nice too though? Say you get this and not have Adaman Celata. And it looks cool to boot.
