Hmm... just to let you guys know, I hunted this item on Darksday and it's been 6 hours and we got no drop, so as far as I'm concerned it's either personal luck or just placebo.
This droped 3 times trying to get an unlit lantin and key when killing random stuff because some of the dd where a bit slash happy down there.

Haha, same here, I was just clearing the room and waiting for cutters to repop so I could get a key, and this dropped. Well, I was going to be wanting my opo crown anyhow. :)

Was killing these earlier today for Giant Fish Bones (for Opo-opo crown quest)
After about the 10th one, the giant bones dropped. I guess I got really lucky.
Was happy though, cause 681dmg Everyone's Grudge hurts. ;;

Killed like 6 of them got drop, Watersday, as NIN/WHM not even TH >.> Thought was harder as I can see but not, too easy. Maybe I was lucky ^^
For the love of god go in on Darksday. lmao.
Spent 11 hours farming these over about 4 days.
At no point was it darksday.
I read up on here, told my BRD friend about the reported success on Darksday so we waited and went up there. First one dropped it!!!!!!
I even ate my lucky egg for him on the previous visits out of pure desperation.

I would recommend trying for the drop on darksday. My wife and I spent hours killing stalkers with no luck, as soon as darksday hit we got a drop. The next night we went back and killed stalkers for a few hours. At like 00:30 on darksday we got the second drop.

My husband and I got this drop off the stalkers near the enterance, fairly easy too, we were duoing mobs as 62whm/blm and 69drk/thf for seals and the temple key for the paintbrush and got it after like 25 kills. We stuck around and killed like 10 more little tonberries and got another set.

Had to get these for my crown. I was in Temple of Ugg. for about 3 hours duoing the Stalkers with no drop. We were right in the entrance area. Anyway a theif came by to help and still no drop. An ls buddy told me the Stalkers that drop it are the ones towards the Paintbrush room for ZM4. So we go thru temple, zone out to the jungle, walk around and zone back in. First 1 we kill dropped it.
I don't know if the stalkers by the first entrance just have a really really low drop rate or don't drop it at all, but the stalkers after you zone out and go back in definitely seemed to have a higher drop rate. I dunno, maybe it was dumb luck, thought i'd post my 2 cents ^^

This was very easy ^^ If you you have a nice pull skill you can solo or duo it. The droprate is really good, a friend of me got it after 5, another friend after 20-25 and me after 10-15 Tonberrys.

yes, the stalkers drop this ****...
i go to get this item as a brd/whm 65 alone
and i get it the 5 mob they are Easy prey for me
i cast the 2 song of evasion and i hhave melody earrings. so they miss alot... is hard but you can do it... good luck

OMG whoever said this was easy is crazy >.< I killed over 100 Tonberry Stalkers for this ; ; Maybe Im just really unlucky >.< god I hope not ; ; the next ones are gonna suck lol
As 75 whm/smn alone, I got my Giant Fish Bones on the 30th Tonberry Stalker I killed.
Ok, I finally did this Opo quest, so I'm posting helpful details on HOW/WHERE/WHAT so that you may all benefit!
Tonberry Stalkers ONLY drop this. No cutters, no harriers. Luckily, they are right by the entrance. Step carefully in there, since they do link, and be patient. My party got it in about a dozen kills.
This item is Rare/Ex. Make sure you get the GIANT ones. They also drop regular ones, which are useless for the opo quest.

It says that Tonberry Stalkers drop this. Is this true? And if so, then why do they also drop regular Fish Bones? >.< arrg..
No post on this so I'll say this one is easy drop, fought for 10 mins and got one, easier than the others for sure ^^
