Leveling RNG and lfg.. decide to visit my favorite spot in all of Vana'diel (that's right, the AH).
These rings are going for 5K now while the Horn +1 goes for 15K. It's nuts I tell ya.
Anyway, I see why the price is low (only jobs these are really good for is RNG and COR, neither one of which is leveled by alot of people anymore), but I don't get why its lower than the Horn +1..

Kinda funny, on my server these are running 25K(Phoenix), and the Carapace +1 which I believe has the same boost to Ranged Accuracy is going for 50K... this ring comes 5 lvls sooner, has no accuracy penalty, has a defense stat AND its cheaper. Weird the way this economy works eh?
Was looking around the AH in Jueno the other day and saw these running for 10k, a very nice alternative to the other rings at that level, plus it adds defense, bought one immediatly even though my Ranger is only 35 didn't want to risk a hike in prices.

It doesn't sell because of the green thinsg on the right side of it. You can't buy or sell it any where.
You can sell Rare Items just fine, it's the Exceptional ones that you can't. Rare only means you can have only one in your possession (On character, in mog house, etc) at any given time.
Exclusive, not Exceptional. ;D

Guess I lucked out when I passed by this on the Auction House in Asura. Checked the history, saw it around 10k, but 6k and got it ^_^. This item is easily a replacement for Snipers Rings and yes as stated below, you can easily ignore Snipers rings all-together as a Ranger.
wow. definitely a cheaper choice for rangers compared to the snipers ring.
The best part of Final Fantasy XI is its rich storyline. It separates this game from other MMORPGs. I chose to give my character a storyline that goes along with the game's storyline. I find that this is a more fun way to play the game. Playing the game just to fight in the endgame and collect elite equipment is very boring and is totally missing the main objective of the game, which is to guide your character through the storyline which is to save the world.
no RNGs really need to ever own a sniper's ring. Horn Ring +1 at lvl35 has the same +rang. acc. or if you don't have the several extra mil. for sniper's +1, carapace ring +1 have the same +rang. acc. but lvl45. really, i don't see how sniper's rings are worth it for RNGs. I do however completely understand for melees, acc. equip is much rarer, and these have great +acc. stats.
only prob is u can only equip 1 ><

are these crafted? or from a quest possibly?
you cannot wear two... you are only allowed to have one of each rare item at any given time in your inventory/safe

Hmm.... To buy or not to buy. This thing costs 100k on my server, with 1 guy getting it for 80k. So far I think 7 have been sold. DEF:2 is nice and so is not having -ACC. But worth 100k? I used to think those +2 VIT latent effect earrings weren't worth the 20k they startd at, now they're at about 70k.
