Anyone think about macro this in for a little more ACC during a WS? Obviouslly untill O.hat.

There is a Frenzy Fife that has latents also. The fife latent is activated with having a song status on, I wonder if this could reduce or remove the bad hp drain?

Actually with the New Updates to Merits and the Monks Chakra + Regen makes this item that much more usable for Mnks. Max out Merits on Chakra and the Group 2 Job Trait Invigorate and you have a mnk that can heal himself along with a regen to lessen the blow of this latent effect. Add the AF2 Body and this peice becomes very Plausible
As a WHM I would totally throw my hands up in the air and beg any person in my PT wearing this to take it off. What a nightmare! Souleater is bad enough without giving your friendly neighborhood healers an even bigger heart attack...
I'm hoping to god there's some way to counteract the 99hp/tic drain.
How many people do you think have died just trying to figure out if you can get around it? >.>

maybe if u have war subbed and use beserk it doesnt make u loose any hp/tic >.<
it says up at the top that 4%HASTE is NOT a latent affect O.o. i'm getting this for my monk :P
haste and acc are both latent effect, if you had ever seen the item that would be apparent, whats listed here is misprinted.
This is exactly as the Herc. Ring for PLDs, it says the exact same thing but we all know that the Refresh effect is not on all the time.

I'm guessing there is something that slows down, or decreases the HP drain rate. Even for a Monk you'd have maybe 45 seconds if you were playing it safe.
Maybe a warrior ability slows it down, like Zerk, or Warcry?

There is something that slows it down. Unfortunately, it can be slowed down/absorbed by Phlanx and Stoneskin. I say "Unfortunately" because no one [with the possible exception of DRG where /RDM and /WHM can have its uses] would sub RDM or WHM just to use this item.
To my knowledge, there is nothing else to slow down or negate this effect.

BST sub WHM and RDM often, But the 99 hp drin can be catastrophic when soloing and being hit by multiple mobs ; ;

This isn't R/EX, it's on the Jeuno AH on carbuncle... there was one up once i bid 2MIL on it and got nothing ; ; I want to hunt this NM though, that would be an awesome piece of armor to add to my gear~

If this is anything like the Frenzy Fife bard instrument, then the latent effect is activated by having any song currently active on yourself.
just a guess, but from the name, might it be triggered perhaps by having the JA "Berserk" active?
if so, that would require a /war subjob, and explain why war cant use it (if it is intended to be used to enhance the usefulness of the subjob vs mainjob)

This also only pops during Dark Weather, I do believe. Making its conditions annoying as hell. (Dark+Fog)
That's impossible. Fog can't occur during any other weather effect, such as Gloom (dark element). I should know, from hunting Odqan in Misareaux for the past 3 weeks ><

Its droped in sacarium by that there Elel NM corse undead dude at J-8 on the first map, pops during foggy weather so can be quite a sit waitting for him to rear his ugly head

I saw a japanese Site that had this item as a lvl 64 Sallet and it does have defense like 22 i think but i dont know the latent effect. I also get the feeling its a Rare EX because its not on my AH in jueno. Does anyone know how to get one?

No clue how to get one, but a single Frenzy Sallet has sold on Ragnarok for 1 million. Interesting that WARs can't use it, when a majority of sallets are WAR/PLD/DRK.
Yeah I'd love to get my hands on one of these. I'm just surprised there is no defense being that its a sallet, which is a helmet and not just a cloth or something light.
im happy this is usable by thf, since Haste would be a nice boost for a job that attacks fast already ^_^ any idea yet on LE trigger?

both the accuracy and haste boost are latent.
finally a real true reason for a Samurai to buy Fuma Kyahan.

Uh.. Haste+7% is still crappy, I don't see why anyone would waste gil on this or the kyahan...
For melee, Optical Hat is much better(@70+).
