Gray Chip
Also drops off of Diremite Stalkers, and is one of the three chips needed to make CCB Polymer pumps, from the quest Chips, which are used against Ultima and Omega in the CoP Airship battle. The two other chips are Cyan and Carmine.

If you need a gray chip and don't want to run through all of Pso'Xja just enter the tower at Nue's spawn, go in and kill the two Diremite's up top, if it doesn't drop off those go to the East room, look in the hole until you see the Diremite Assaulter, target him and cast a spell or shoot it, chi blast or provoke would probably work also. You can fight it through the floor or back up and it *should* magically jump in front of you, hope this helps ^^.

just went in at the westmost tower near Nue and killed the two diremites that are near the entrance. got a gray chip on the 2nd kill. in and out less than 5 min.
Just soloed a Diremite Assaulter for this chip as MNK75/NIN37.
Entered at Nue's Tower (F-7) in the glacier. Uncapped area of Pso'Xja, killed the 2 regular Diremites in the first room a couple times then decided to try my luck dropping down to the right.
Ended up in a room with one Diremite Assaulter, checked DC. Easilly soloed, got lucky and dropped on the second kill, also dropped a beastmen seal and a Florid stone... and 50 merit points lol.
I would recomend taking a friend though, would make it alot safer and easier.

This Chip is used in CoP Mission 3-5 "Darkness Named"
Ghebi Damomohe at the Neptune's Spire in Lower Jeuno asks you to retrieve a Carmine, Gray, Or Cyan chip from Pso'Xja.
Trading this or one of the other 2 chips to Ghebi will get you the key item "Pso'Xja Pass" which will allow to progress deeper in Pso'Xja than previously allowed.

Just got one, off a Diremite in the west most tower (slightly to the south of the path of xarcabard). Uncaped Pso'Xja tower. These mobs are easy prey to a level 55rdm/blm, and fairly easy to kill. Also got Bloodthread and Avatar Blood.
Any idea what quest these are used in? They are Rare/EX so it's probably a quest or mission.
