Me (50 RNG) and a 50 THF *(ashburnitall) were looking for RSE keys to sell out of the "Treasure Pool" and the first two scorpions we kill droped 2 of em... i guesss it was a lucky break, or the fact that we had TH2... yea thats probably it.
In the game, there are lots of RareEx items that can be used in synthesis. I am disappointed that this is not one of them. Or is it? Does anyone know if you can craft with it?
Lol, first scorpion i ever killed dropped this, no clue why it was rare/ex, came here, saw that it gives 1.5k, rejoices!

Ditto that. Just killed me My first Maze scorpion with a 29THF/14NIN. Got a claw and stinger. And it's not even what I came for!

took me at least 3 hr to get this, but did managed to get like 13 claws in the process. So that would explain the over abundance of scorpion claws in the AH.

Palborough Mines in N. Gusta. also has some scorpians, which will drop the stinger.

It cannot be found at AH, it is a Rare EX item. Used only for this quest.

yes, thats exactly why it sucks.
What a lamer. The whole bassi of this game is questing and team play. What would a game be if all you had to do was buy something to finish a quest?? You, my friend, are a waste to the FFXI server space, bandwidth, and time.
