Hachiman Hakama  

All the Hachiman gear with latent effects are *** stupid. The whole point of of SAM is to build TP as fast as possible and WS every time you can. To have gear that gives you a bonus when you are >=100TP is silly since as soon as you are over 100TP, you burn it. So what you are supposed to do is hit 100% and NOT WS so you can get these latents? The whole Hachiman set is so poorly designed against the whole purpose of the SAM class.

I'm currently a 65SAM on the Remora server. Lately, I've been looking at a lot of the endgame gear that I will need to be buying soon. After checking many 70+ sams, I've noticed almost all of them wearing the AF legs instead of these. Some of them have even told me that these are complete junk because they don't give a STR bonus. I disagree with that.
Though the last 3 sam weaponskills can do a lot of damage when STR gear is worn, the most important thing is for the weaponskill to actually hit. This is not so much of a problem for sams using a thf sub, obviously, because of sata. A sam with war sub, however, has to deal with the possibility of missing these weaponskills. It is in this situation that these legs are most useful.
At level 70, an excellent sam/war setup for gaining TP quickly would consist of wearing an o.hat, hachiman body, hands, legs, and feet, life belt, peacock charm and 2xSniper's. When a yukikaze or gekko macro is hit, the head, neck, ring and waist equips can be switched with the hachiman head, spike necklace, victory rings and warwolf belt(lv71) for a big STR boost. 40 accuracy is lost when this happens, and will often result in a miss. Then take into account the +20 ws accuracy from the 4 pieces of hachimans and you're only losing 20 accuracy. Since all of these other macro'd in equips give such a big STR boost, the absence of the 3 STR from the AF legs won't even be noticed. But not being able to land these weaponskills definately will be noticed...
So what I'm basically saying is, sam/thf would benefit most with the AF legs. Sam/war would benefit most from hachiman. It makes sense if you really think about it...

I've noticed that this piece of JSE is the only one without a STR bonus. AF pants give STR+3, which helps SATA+ws, and since SATA+ws never misses, you wouldn't even need WS ACC. Store TP+3 is also only .3% or so..you would have to have a lot of Store TP bonus to notice a major difference. And finally, AF pants also give parry skill+5, which I would prefer over the latent effect RACC, since I dont have Archery high enough for it to make a difference. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Sweet thanks for the info on the latent. In that case I think I'd use Haubby pre 100 TP then post 100TP swap on all hachiman =P
