Playing the 33% trigger pre 60 can mean that 1 crit has you face down. No this won't save you left and right, but it could help you stay up vs a nasty T.
This is gotten from ENM50 (Pulling the Plug) in Promyvion Vahzl. Possible drops from this ENM are 3 "visions" which can be traded to Venessa in Ru'lude. One of these visions grants you this item.
The whole Critical% thing is very strange. I was in a bones party in KRT (non-roaming) with a 75mnk. He was nicely equipped, Ohat, avengers, good stuff. While fighting I noticed he had an EXTREMELY high crit attack rate, I'd say every other combat round hat at least one, (considering monks attack at least twice, it's 25% or so). I asked him if he had merits in it, he said yep, capped merits for critical rate (which is 3%, 1% allowed each time, 3 merits). So, if dex is a factor in crit rate, I woulda had higher than him, taru monk vs. elvaan, would have had about 3-4 dex higher than him. So if just 3% is that noticeable to MAKING crits, I bet -2% on you for preventing them would be as well.
All things considered, there are alot of choices for back armor around 50. For average exp use this doesnt seem very usefull. Maybe against event bosses or HNM who tend to land critical hits noticably often, but otherwise it would be tough to say how usefull this is.
nah, i submitted this. it's -2% to opponents critical hit rate. i got the 4th one sold on my server. I'm using cause no one else has them. but hey, there may be hidden effects to it who knows. if the -2% saves mine and my partys butt one time i think it will have been worth wearing.
well 2% looks worthless, but when you think about it mobs dont have a 100% critical rate, or even a 50%. if the critical rate is say, 7% than this is a decent chunk removed from criticals. there has to be some use for it.
Yes i'm curious to know how the calculations are made when a mob lands a hit. If the mob has a 7% chance of landing a crit is this 2% off that 7% (I.E. 5%)? Or is it that when a crit is determined as landing is there a 2% chance that it wont?
