Peridot was 20k on all basic city AH's on Asura, but then on a whim I checked Jeuno AH (normally more expensive, especially when its a quest item for that city) and it was only 9.8k.

Is there anyway to get the Peridot cheaper than playing 35k at AH in jeuno?
I got this quest with 38 seperate quests done in my home country and around 20 repeated ones. None for other countries except for some subjob/advanced job related quests. So I guess you need a pretty high fame. I also got the Gobbie Tailor quest at the same time.

I think getting enuff fame through non-jueno quest is the hard way, least once you are 30.

Also the job I had at the time was level 22 so i think it is a fame check not level check, tho you do need 30 to get the adv job quests to get fame.

I was able to get the Tarut Cards and Your Crystal Ball quests without completing this one, so it's probably a fame issue with those two. Haven't explored all of Jeuno yet, so don't know about the others!

The peridot is supposed to be an alchamest synthesizing item but no sites list it as an item that can be made, anyone know what level and what ingredients are required to make peridot?

Is there anywhere to get peridot other than the Auction Hall? I have check every AH in every city and its not for sale anywhere. Unless its sold in a normal store or dropped somewhere don't look like anyone on my server is getting one any time soon.
I had quite a bit of money from the
"Making the Grade" quest in windhurst
(4 k spent on test answhers, immediately sold
aspir for 25 k, HAR!)
I bought all the items in windhurst, except for
the steel ingot which I ran to mhaura to buy.
Then I ran to Jeuno, died once. Luckily, on the odin server, Meph was under windhurst control and I had home point at zone to Sauromugue (it should be SauroMORGUE! HA HA !) so though I died once I had a short run.
Before going to jeuno I had:
34 different windhurst quests done
20 different San d'Oria quests done
2 Mhaura quests done
0 bastok quests done
(plus some repeat windhurst and San quests)
In jeuno, upon entering the city, Mendi in lower Jeuno said:
"oh, so you're Aniedi... Yes, I heard some travellers in a tavern talk about you. It seems you've a fair reputation..." etc.
I talked to the goblin and he gave me the quest, I then gave him the items and it said I have an increased inventory! YAY!
He does not give me the second quest, though I zoned and came back =/
I also don't have fame enough to get the wonder magic set quest, child's play quest, cook's pride quest, etc.

I had 34 quests done in windurst, 12 in san d'oria, 3 in other and 2 in jeuno when I was able to receive and complete the 2nd gobbie bag quest. Those are all unique quests, not counting repeats.
At the time I was a level 23 blm on pheonix engaged in mission 6 of windurst (so I was at the end of rank 2), had completed the sub-job quest, first gobbiebag quest and the first mog house expansion quest, amongst others.
There's a theory I heard that you need 50 different quests completed in order to receive it. Although it's not always true (I know someone with 65 who can't get it), in my case it worked.
So I suggest completing 50 total quests (doesn't matter which town(s)) before trying to get the second gobbiebag quest.
Square of Ram Leather, Turquoise, Square of Wool Cloth and Mithril Ingot are the items you'll need for the second quest.

Not sure how many quests I have done at home town... About 30 unique, tons repeated, but at level 18 I walked into Jeuno and got the quest.

Completed this at lvl 21. When I was lvl 12 with 29 home missions completed I still wasn't offered the quest. On my way to lvl 21 I most likely did a lot more of my repeatable home missions in addition to about 3 Sandorian, 6 Bastokan, and 1 Selbina quests.

I did this with 25 different windurst quests complete at lvl 20 thief, with NO jeuno quests done. Also, I did turn in many, many mandragora parts to that repeatable quest, so it is possible I have heard the quest completed fanfare 50 times.

Tried this with 28 quests. Failed.
Decided to give the 50 quest theory a shot. Took my 28 quests from Bastok and went to Windurst.
Went back at 35, 40 and 45 quests. He wouldn't give me the bag until I completed quest #50

TIP: You can raise your fame by turning in masses of rabbit hides/bat wings etc. to the repeatable quest NPCs. This is how I got the drain quest, AND the gobbiebag quest

Since if seen MANY sites not explaining exactly what you need to do to get the quest and misleading people. I did it, and from what i've gathered, heres what you need to do:
You NEED Jeuno fame... people think you need to do 28 quests in your home town to get it, this is not true nor false. You need to get Jeuno fame which is the sum of the fame in all other towns, so. I would suggest doing as many quests you can in all of the nation cities. Doing around 20 in each would be a perfect way to get fame in Jeuno and would most likely assure you the availability of the first, if not the second or third gobbiebag quests.
I hope this helps you all in getting the extra inventory and i hope you do not waste as much time as i did trying to figure out what exactly you need.

I was level 20, Bastokian, Rank 2 and I only had somewhere inbetween 13 - 19 quests done total and I got the quest from him, just haven't done it yet hehe.

I've completed 31 quests in Bastok but I still can't get the quest...
Could it be that you have to finish 28 quests in the town your race "belongs" to? I'm Elvaan but I picked Bastok as my kingdom at char creation.

The requirement is have a total 50 quests completed (it doesn't matter the towns, just as long as it's 50 quests combined complete). My bf got the quest at lvl 23 with 50 quests, I am level 23, but only have 35 quests completed and I couldn't get the quest. We both completed 18 quests in Bastok (hometown).

I have 31 quests completed and got this quest. It's all about the Fame. Have to have Jeuno fame. I did the Streetlamp quest and Chocobo quest and had enough fame to get this one.
The only Jeuno specific quest I had done was the chocobo quest. I have 25+ unique Bastok quests done (home town), tons of repeatable Bastok quests ("mommy's helper" and stardust), and I believe 20 unique San D'Oria quests done (no repeats). In Bastok, the fame guy says something to the effect of "[name]? Yeah, I've heard of you, you're not doing too bad for an adventurer."
I dropped by the gob shop to pick up a scroll and checked to see if he would give me the quest, and sure enough, he did.

I completed this quest today, and it did seem u need to complete around 28 quests. After I recieved my new bag with +5 inventory space, he mentioned that it's a good bag but is still not as good as his. I assume there is a second quest to this, anyone know of anything?

Peridot is only 30,000 gil at Auction House.
