Obtained key item: Dkhaaya's Research Journal. DescriptionGet yourself some pickaxes and head to Bhaflau Thickets. Go to the (G-7) entrance to Aydeewa Subterrane (same as for BLU flag) Go to the Excavation Site (H-9) and trade the Pickaxe to the spot until you get a key item. Note: pickaxes may break, so bring several of them with you. The name of the key item will start with "Electro" and there are several different ones, but you can only get 1. Return to Aht Urhgan Whitegate and talk to Dkhaaya, who gives you a Lightning Band (rare/ex). The band has no stats. At this point, the quest is finished. However, take your Lightning Band and go to (G-8) of Wajaom Woodlands, where you will find a "Leypoint". Trade the Lightning Band to the Leypoint and you receive an "Olduum Ring" (rare/ex). SpoilersDkhaaya can be found at (G-9) Aht Urhgan Whitegate.

I heard from an LS member that he was leveling around the leypoint (hasn't done the quest yet) and when they left, his party took him to a gate that is a shortcut to Al Zahbi. He said it was in the same map square of the leypoint. I spent 30 mins looking for that gate and didn't see anything... Anyone know what I'm talking about? I think he might be smoking something, everyone else I ask about this has no idea what I'm talking about. They don't even know what the leypoint is....

Pretty easy quest..just a lot of walking. It was also a nice surprise to run into Hydra on the way >.> /sigh Be careful!
This Olduum teleport ring is useful especially for quest 'What Friends are for'. It saves me a lot of walks. From the teleport point(known as Leypoint) to E-10 of Wooland , which will then lead you to Aydeewa Subterrance. Click on the ??? at G-10 there for CS. You will have to come back here. if you break more than 5 at same spot. Give it up and try the other 2 spots. I got mine at the 2nd spot at first try. ^^ Electropot (key item).
None of the monsters in the BLU ??? room aggro (maybe Chiggos, but it wasn't rain) and I found 3 points there.

Some of you seem to be having trouble getting your Key Item, going through multiple stacks of axes but then getting it first try next time around.
You should note that there are more than one excavation site in the area. Personally, the one on the North East corner of the platform for the BLU quest gave it to me first try.

anyone thinking the walk back isnt worth the tele? im all for catching a boat >.> however, i do beleive that it is of use if your prepared. it is quicker that taking the boat^^
Would be a great item... but level 60? Man, that is so unfair to all us low levels :(
All of you "low levels" would get a royal beating if you were to teleport directly to this place. I really suggest you take the boat untill you can take a pair of hits before running to the zone ^^;

My husband got it on the first try.
I, however, broke a whole stack of pickaxes and had to run back to town to get more. I did get a stack and a half of pebbles though. Oh joy. Then I got it on the first try after I returned to excavate.
Save yourself some time and bring a *couple* stacks, just in case.

Key Item obtained from excavation point is called electropot.

damn...i was lookin in the wrong area for this >< I was told buy someone that had it its a long quest and u need a pickaxe.... then i get a cut later on in the mountian above Halvung from some platform were a troll wanted a pickaxe. So i brought a pickaxe there and got another cut saying it was too small for him.. thats it. Glad someone finally was able to post some info....people not too helpful about that ring. Everyone pretending there afk or dont speak english when ever i asked for details. Thankyou for the post ^^
The quest you got in halvung is called "Rock Bottom"
Head to Mt Zhayolm.
Examine the ??? at L-7 for a cutscene.
Trade a pickaxe to the ??? for another custscene.
Zone out and return.
Trade a Mythril Pick to the ???.
Choose "Yes"

Ok, I did the quest as specified and even found the LeyPoint at G8, but all it says is "your lightening band is responding to the (whatever)". What's the deal? Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Just a suggestion to add the BLU mage quest stuff to the guide. If you're on both you can work on two quests at the same time and get a warp home.
Except if you have a noob moment like me. I read this and thought 'great I'll try this since I have both quests open'.. buy my pickaxes..walk all the way down...lalala...right over the blue circle.. *crap* cs and warp back w/o being able to get my electowhatever. I suppose I could have refused the immortal when he asked but I wasn't sure if that would mess the quest up.
So remember: stay clear of the blue platform till you get you mining item.. its a waste of 30 mins to walk all the way back. You don't have to click on anything to finish the blue quest...the cutscene automatically starts when you step in the area.

Dkaaya wants an artifact from Olduum, and ancient civilation. Grab a pick axe and head over to the Aydannae Subteran and look for an excavation point. (I found mine near the Blue Mage Flag Fountain) Use the pick axe and you should get an electropot, take this and go back to Dkaaya.
He won't be too impressed, but will give you a lightening band as a reward for your effort. Take the Lightening band to (G-8) in Wajaoram Woods and trade it to the Triangle platform, it'll tell you that the ring is reacting to it, and if you're sure you want to bring it closer. Do so, and the platform will "recharge" the ring in it's own special way, giving you your Olduum ring!

A friend had been trying to get the BLU quest (he tried the questions about five times unsuccessfully).
I got him through the questions and then we had to go get our items. We got together the next day with our items and he told me there was another quest in the same area. I agreed we should kill two birds with the same trip.
He had me start this quest and off we went to get BLU and work on this quest.
Reaching the area the first thing he said was don't step into the pool. Instead we used F8 and found the Excavation point by the pool. There may be others but it is point right beside the pool.
We hit the point with our pick axes and got the key item. Stepping into the pool, I finished the BLU mage quest and got warped back to the city.
So if you have yet to do BLU and this quest, I recommend doing them together. One trip, two quests, and a free warp back where you can continue the Olduum Ring quest.
