Ilrusi Atoll - Golden Salvage

In-Game TextDescriptionDescription: Rumor has it that the golden figurehead from the Black Coffin, the ship of Luzaf the pirate, can be found somewhere within Ilrusi Atoll. The objective of this Assault is to recover a figurehead located in one of twelve chests on the map. One contains the figurehead, the other 11 are Mimics. Search the areas to the southeast, northeast and northwest examining any chests you come across. If it's a Mimic you will need to fight it to move on or it will use 'draw in' on you until either you are the mimic is dead. Throughout the map are Percipient Fish which are True Sound pugils. They have a small aggro radius but can cost valuable time if you do aggro one. They can be slept and by using deodorize you can lose aggro if you are far away enough. If you have a Summoner with you have them have Carbuncle out while approaching a chest. If it's a Mimic the Summoner can run away until the Mimic isn't in view anymore and release Carbuncle. The Mimic shouldn't have any hate on the Summoner and you should be free to move onto another chest~

Garuda is your best friend for this hands down, I think any other avatar will die before you manage to run out of range. Something to remember though is not to sic Garuda on the chest, just let her auto attack the box. Someone on a run thought they had to (God knows why) and the box wouldnt leave then alone long enough for them to get away.
just went in as drg+blm+smn to do it properly.... was reading this as we went in (hadn't planned on glitching as I'm not {I hope} a loser). Tried it before smn opened box, no difference on real or fake.
