Nyzul Isle Investigation

Nyzul Isle Basics:

The principles of Nyzul Isle assault is the same as the others with a few variations:

    * You do not earn Assault Points for participating or succesfully completing Nyzul Isle.* There is only one tier of Assault for this area.* Progress in this Assault can be saved as you progress.
When you enter Nyzul Isle Assault you will come to a Rune of Transfer which is used to continue progress on previously saved floors. For example if you have previously exited at floor 5, you can continue from floor 6 using this device at the cost of tokens.

Nyzul Isle Progress Saving Basics:

    * You are given the option of exiting after you complete each floor's objective.* Exiting on a floor which is a multiple of 5 (5, 10, 15, etc.) or more, provided you have cleared at least 5 floors since your entry, saves your data.
      * For example; Entering on floor 6 and exiting on floor 9 you will be able to start on floor 6.* Entering on floor 6 and exiting on floor 10 you will be allowed to start on floor 11.* Entering on floor 6 and exiting on floor 14 you will be allowed to start on floor 11.
    • Entering on floor 6 and exiting on floor 15 you will be allowed to start on floor 16.
    * Using the rune of transfer when you next start will allow you and your allies to start on the floor above the one you exited on.* Starting on a floor other than 1 will cost tokens depending on how high the floor is.* Starting on floor 6 costs 500 tokens and increases in increments of 50 (550, 600, etc.) up to floor 46* Starting on floor 51 token cost increases in increments of 100.* Only the member who selects the starting floor will have their data saved!!* You cannot save during a missions objective; you must clear the floors objective to be able to exit and save.
Nyzul Isle Objective Basics:

Eliminate Specified Enemy

Eliminate the enemy which checks as 'Impossible to gauge!'.

Eliminate Specified Enemies

Eliminate all enemies of the same family which check as 'Impossible to gauge!' These familes are Imp, Soulflayer, Poroggo, Flan, AQiqirn, and Chariots.

Eliminate Enemy Leader

Eliminate one monster that checks as 'Impossible to gauge!'. The leader will not be a typical NM that can appear in other areas such as Frostmane or Jaggedy Eared Jack, but one that is native to Nyzul Isle.

Eliminate All Enemies

Kill all enemies.

Activate All Lamps

To activate all lamps you must first understand the order they must be activated, there are three seperate methods to activating lamps:

    * When you check the lamp is reads "The certification code for all party members is required to activate this lamp."
    • All members need to check the one lamp to complete the objective.
    * When you check the lamp it reads "This lamp cannot be activated unless all other lamps are activated at the same time."
      * All members must find a lamp and activate them all at the same time.* If all lamps are on in a period of 30 seconds you will complete this objective.
    • If these requirements are not met the lamps will turn off and cannot be turned on again for another 30 seconds.
    * Checking a lamp turns it on.
      * Lamps must be turned on one after another in a set order.* Lamps lit in the correct order remain on while those that are not are turned off.
Secondary Objectives and Free Floors

In addition to primary objectives you may get one of two secondary objectives as well.

    * Avoid discovery by archaic gears!
      * Aggroing a gear will result in a time penalty, token penalty or a pathos infliction.* Attacking a gear before it can aggro you does not count as being discovered.* You can sleep gears in problematic areas without suffering a penalty.
    * Do not destroy archaic gears!
      * Destroying a gear will result in a time penalty, token penalty or a pathos inflictions.* You can still attack and sleep them, but just do not defeat any.
    * Free floor!
      * There is no objective for this floor. You can go up to the next floor or look around for treasure.
Nyzul Isle Rewards

Several familiar NMs are located here in Nyzul Isle. They will drop ??? gear which can be appraised and may possibly be their respective drops.

Also every 20th floor contains a HNM such as a Behemoth or a Wyrm. These monsters drop the new sets of armor, Goliard, Denali and Askar sets.

Completing and succesfully exiting Nyzul Isle for the first time awards you with 5 points towards your assault rank up. Completing it subsequent times awards you with 1 point, in the same way the other assaults would.

Players to avoid on Nyzul Isle.

Did a Nyzul Isle boss run with these players Wildjester, Ahileaa, and Augustin on Titan server. They have no integrity and certainly no morales. I dcd and returned with enough time to lot on the item. They would not invite me back into the party to have a fair chance. Knowing this Wildjester character had a low lot just like the life he probably lives. Wouldn't stand a chance against my lot. So beware of these characters if they are in your party or shouting for fair play.

Watch out if you get Caraway Custard as a Leader Floor, he hits like a truck.
Hits very very very hard.

I have not been able to find out some info i need to know on this assault. It says 3-6 players, does the assault scale to 3 if you take 3?Otherwise it would seem ridiculous to even mention 3 since the bosses would be scaled to combat a party of 6.
Also if you have saved to level 40,can you go back to 20 and fight one of the boss,or i guess you would have to goto 16? and fight to 20?.
Also do you still get tokens if you go back, reason i ask is because yo uget a lot more tokens for beginning levels,so would make sense to stock up so you can buy vendor items for the higher levels.
Question

I've been gone from ffxi for almost 2 years, so I know nothing about all this Nyzul Isle stuff. xD

Anyone know if it costs -everyone- tokens to go to higher floors, or does it just cost the person who's accessing those floors? I've never done Nyzul before, so I don't have a single token to use ; ;
It'd be sweet if I could tag along for free though.

If I haven't even started nyzul can I join in on runs that are not on floor one or do I have to have one successful save?

Can do any floor if your just tagging along with someone that has access to higher floors, it just wont save that floor for you.
Is this possible.
# Jul 25 2008 at 5:07 PM Rating: Decent
I was wondering, is it possible to do Nyzul without recording your own memory?

Like, per say that I'm at floor 20, and the party leader's max is floor 60, would I be able to go up to floor 60 with him even though my progress is only to floor 20? I was just wondering cause I can't ever find a group of people willing to do any of the lower floors. ; ;

Yes you can go in on floor 60 in your case. However, if you completed through 65 you wouldn't be able to "save" on your disk.

If on the other hand you went in on level 20 with other people who were at that level, when you completed 25 you could all save.

Hope that clears things up a little.
Min Lvl?

Everywhere says the minimum level for this is 75, but I've done Nyzul Isle with a 74 BST. So does anybody know the true minimum level?

tokens?

how u get tokens and how many u usually get?
Confused

Trying to get my head around this...
Ok. So lets say I have my data saved on floor 15. I can spend however many coins to get in at floor 16, and then get up to floor 20 and fight the HNM. After I fight the NM what prevents me from simply not saving my progress so that I can start again on floor 16? I feel sure there must be some limitation which prevents you from doing that, but I can't see what it is from the information I've found. It just seems that would be too easy, very unlike SE.
On another note, can anyone talk about the drop rate on the HNMs? I was told after youve beaten 100th floor and start in again they drop 100% but not before that. Is that true? What's the drop rate like originally?

So if I have my info saved all the way to floor 80 I can always go back and start on floor 16 if I choose to?

I've found information on the number of tokens required to access a floor but I haven't seen anywhere how many tokens you get for each victory. I guess it depends on number of pt members and how many floors you complete? Any information on that?

50/50 drop rate is a lot better than I thought actually. Kind of gives me a little inspiration, I was sort of disenfranchised with the idea of going through all of that for a low chance at one of several armor pieces, potentially getting either one that nobody wants or none at all...

Does anyone have any suggestion on the best way to get the most out of a Nyzul Isle static? Is it best to have 1 person save data and attempt to run all the way through to level 100? Or alternate who saves data so that you collect more tokens and have more opportunities to do the NMs?

There is no point in not saving your progress. You get tokens on the Save point when you Exit an area (providing that area was a multiple of 5). You can go back and restart on floor you have a save from (in multiple's of 5) providing that you have enough tokens.

Drop rates seem to be 50/50 or so. I've been skunk'd on many Nyzul bosses that didn't drop anything. Also that 100% drop rate only applies to the successive time you reach floor 100 and not any other boss floor.

My static-mate went as BST w/ us last night. We tried it for the first time, did 3 runs. Never got up to floor 5 to save. It's not that it was that hard, we were just unprepared once, got hard floors once, and messed up once ^^

Anyway to respond to the BST question, him and CC did well most of the night. Not much else to say about it, but having the extra pet around was good for a link or two.

Have anyone tryed this assoult as bst? on some of the floors the mobs are normal like the ones out in "the real world" (Vanadiel), and if i remember right they con about Deasent chalange. Now if you on that floor got the Order "kill them all" or what ever it says, would not bst be a great job for this assault.
Bst would be a gimp job on the HNM`s i guess/know. But im only thinking about using Bst for the floor climbing.
Have anyone tryed this? got any experiense?
how many ppl?

Aspidochelone has been the HNM on floors 20 & 40 as well as Fafnir and Behemoth. Hydra has been seen on 60, so potentially Cerberus & Khimaira are also possibilities. Unfortunately, it does not seem that the HNMs drop their usual pools of loot...but at this point they haven't been fought THAT often.

Who wants to put gil on Odin being on floor 100? :)

Best of luck to everyone who is progressing through this assault!
