You can cast it on another player but they must be in your party.
invisible cannot be cast on...
# Mar 10 2005 at 11:25 AM Rating: Good
Is it just me, has SE changed something about the spell, or is the Target Type for this spell wrong?

I've been using Invisible for a few days now as a WHM in Yughtunga Jungle and yesterday found myself incapable of casting the spell on some player asking me for it to return home safely through Goblin land (in fact the log consistently showed something like 'Invisible can not be cast on <name>').

I haven't been experimenting with it a lot, but as far as I can judge... invisible can only be cast on yourself and on any party member... not on just any player. Therefor the Target type 'single' is not really correct.

Can someone please confirm this?

Not as such.

If you attempt to interact with an object (talk to an NPC, open a door, etc) you'll be given a message saying that you can't perform that action whilst invisible.

Basically you will need to manually cancel invisible. To do this on the PC: Press the + button on the num-pad twice to move the focus to the row of status effects, and click on the one for invisible. I'm afraid I don't know what button it is on the PS2 to change the focus, but it would be the same basic procedure.

On PS2 hit the triangle button twice to target buffs and status effects, then move to the icon you want and hit X to cancel it.

Invisible is the only one of the spells (invis, sneak, and deodor) that wears off when you cast another spell on a PC. Sneak wears off when you attack a mob, as does this, and I don't know when deodorize wears off, as I rarely use it.

noob question, i assume the duration of this spell

The largest factor in determining the length and effectiveness of a spell is the amount of Mind and Int. you posses. This is increased with the type of amour you choose. This is combined with your lvl of Exp (skill) you have in using the type of magic you are casting.

I got this spell off a Goblin Leecher in Lower Delkfutt's Tower. Dropped on the first kill, along with paralyze.

Duration is Determined by a Certain Number of Factors including but not Limited to The Number Of Buffs you Have Casted on You, If Sneak or Deodorize is Casted, MND At Time of Casting, Enhancement Spell Skill Level, Time of Day, What Day it is. I have seen Invisible last anywehre from one min to 15 mins. I am a RDM myself so I do know that I speak the truth.

Duration is also affected by the job level of the target. I had invisible cast on my lvl 1 job and it wore off immediately.

Edit: maybe this means the MND of the target?

Where to find

Im not a WHM myself, but here is where you can kill a average monster and get the scroll free.

right outside of Lower Jeuno in the Rolanberry fields I was killing the Goblins that hang around the damaged brick walls that are rather close to the entrance gate of Lower Jeuno. anywase it wasnt such a rare drop or anything but the Goblins droped spells like Invisable,Curaga 1, Sneak and some spell of lesser value, sorry but I forget its name. and i am not a theif or have Theif subbed so any average guy can go killing those gobs and have a fair chance at getting the scrolls for free.

I'm sure you've figured out by now, but for everyone else, I got this spell from a drop in "The Dunes" off of a Goblin Leecher. I also got it off a Goblin in Lower Delkatt Tower. Also, the easiest way to get spells if off of casting goblins, I think. I've seen bind, blind, invisible, sneak and many more spells off of gobs.
