i recommend leveling blu for the first 10 levels around windy,i tried to level around bastok and sandy and never learned any spells,i went to windy and started to kill stuff there and the spells popped up in my magic slots back to back...hope this saves some of the new blu's alot of time
This one took a bit of time to learn for me. I think I may have went close to 1/30 in East Sarutabaruta. Great Spell! Once you have it, it will more than likely stay activated in your BLU spell list until Wild Carrot. This should be the very first spell you should set your sights on.
Spell cost: 8 MP Ecosystem: Vermin Type: Magical (Light) Blue Magic Points: 1 Stat Bonus: CHR+1, HP+5 Casting Time: 2 seconds Recast Time: 5 seconds You can use Pollen as part of a combo to create Resist Sleep. Can be paired with any of the following spells to create Resist Sleep combo. * Wild Carrot * Magic Fruit * Yawn * Exuviation # Self-target only. # Can be used with Divine Seal to cure for more than the typical amount. # Amount healed increases with MND and VIT. # Seems to cap at 36 HP healed. # Affected by Light Staff/Apollo's Staff.
any bee at any time at any HP will use this. good luck spell hunting
My first message in the forum! yay! :) I think it should be a nice idea if we write where we learned blu spells. At the moment i have some trouble to learn Bad Breath, magic fruit and light of Penance.
i ve been trying to get this spell for like 3 days lol,can any1 tell me how to get it cause i ve killed a bunch of bees and all of them have used the ability on me but nothing lol
Wonderful spell at low levels; you'll find yourself turned away from the mob spamming this spell while waiting for it to use whatever spell you're trying to learn.
It caps at 34 HP healed, unfortunately. You'll still use it for the aforementioned purpose (since Cure II is much more interruptable), but it declines in worth. You'll just have to wait for Magic Fruit.
The highest it has done for me was 35. I have seen high level bees use it to restore 100+ if I am not mistaken. Makes me feel a bit gipped. They could made it capped a bit higher like in the 50's or 60's.

Reading posts about people skilling about BLU magic... Hmm. Maybe you aren't doing something right... Spending hours casting spells on yourself outside of MH? You make BLU out to be the next SMN in terms of dreariness. I am 51 BLU. My Blu magic skill and my sword skill have both capped within minutes of Lvling up. Head Butt should be going off quite a bit, this is better than Paralyze effect if used a lot. Especially if you have NIN tank. Use head butt during Utsu cast and you have a near-invincible tank. Self SC earns good skillups too. I've noticed that multihit spells seem to be more accurate when used with Chain Affinity, and net skillups quite frequently. But back to what I was saying before: Every single level I've achieved so far, my BLU skill has capped within minutes of leveling up. Physical spells seem to give me more skillups than magic ones. Physical spells have also done more consistent damage for me than any magic spell, and give a better MP to dmg ratio. So maybe you aren't excercizing physical spells enough. I gear myself up as a melee Blu. I eat sole sushi and wear STR ACC and ATT gear. ATT doesn't affect BLU spells, but STR and ACC most certainly do. Perhaps the people that are having problems getting blu skillups are playing the job more as a mage? Until the next update, when possibly BLU gets more balanced out, I feel it's more of a melee DD job, and its spells should be treated as weapon skills.

I need help with blue mage i suck at it i need to know how i get the spells is there something i have to do in the fight to get the spell i am trying to get i was on 6hs last night trying to get pollon and no luck what am i not doing right can any one help me
Well Kawar, Spells take a long time to learn and you have to be patient. However there is a strategy that allows you to have a better chance of haveing the ability cast on you.SO here is how I do it (along with most other Blu). You attack the monster and bring him near death, then you turn around so you dont hit him and allow th monster to gain TP by hitting you.Wait till the monster casts the ability wished and then kill it.
But on bees you have to be careful because if you bring them below a cetain amount of HP they will use all that TP on Final Sting.
Ps. I waited until level 7 for pollen.I got it by spamming physical attack spells on higher levels bees.
I see a lot of ppl using pollen outside their mog house to try and skill up their Blue Magic skill. I tried it once, went through my stack of mp with maybe a single skill up, and determined to never do it again. For skilling up in the lower levels (pre-20), use Foot Kick and/or Power Attack, and spam them on decent challenge mobs. A ls member used this tactic, as did I, and we found ourselves getting as much as a full skill point on a single mob. Much faster and more efficient than the Mog House Pollen idea. Plus, you continue to advance your character's level. :D
Between Foot Kick and Power Attack, assuming you have both, you can almost continually cast these two spells, and if the mob level is correct, you'll get skill ups coming in at an incredible rate.
Post-20, I don't know if this works as well... I've put Blue on hold until I finish some other jobs.
I agree with you completeley Galen.I tried to lvl Blu magic by doing the MH thing but all i did was waste time and 5 pools of MP(I got no skill up) I think pollen has more of a chance of skilling up if it actually has HP to restore.
