ok I got this ability and wanted to post what I've noticed about it.
No, you do not get a message when the status effect is inflicted on the enemy BUT you do get one when the effect wears off. Yes, the evasion down is a respectable amount. I have noticed that if I use it with SATA WS and do a fair amount of damage along with feint, the EVA down is stronger and lasts longer.

I've just hit lvl75 and just have a few questions about this ability before i unlock it.
The descriptor states that your next attack will reduce an enemy's evasion, does that mean your next has to land for the ability to proc? In other words, if you miss does the ability not go off?
Also, approximately how long does the evasion down effect seem to last?

It's the next hit you *land*. That means if you miss, the buff will stay on you until you finally land a hit. You can also combine it with sneak attack to guarantee you land it, but it's usually not necessary. The effect seems to last about 30 sec.

This is a great skill to use in the begining of a NM, BCNM, HNM, ect, fight. There is a noticeable drop in the mob's evasion, so your meeles will hit more and gain TP a bit faster. Stacking it with your opening SATA to make sure you hit it is a good plan too. Combine this with +acc spell/song and the total TP gain for your ptary is immense. Assasin's Charge has a bit more of an indivdual aide, but still helps with a thf's TP gain. Anything to get to your SATA+WS faster is a big help for a Thf.
Use Feint, land a hit, and then try to miss. It's damn near impossible. You might not see the message, but it's still going through, don't worry about it. This is certainly a great ability.
Also, no damage increase(so we believe so far), so no reason to stack with SATAWS.

So is it supposted to say "Evasion down" or something cuz when i use this i dont see anything happening that tells me its working.

You will get a message when the EVA-down on the mob wears only.
