pretty sure SE said in an old interview when asked does THF kill effect drop rate?

answer was: no.

they did mention that thief had to be active though.

On my linkshell's website, soulfire.dnsalias.org, I've got all our drops for the past year in a database. I don't have moon phase, but I do have the date and time that each run took place at, so it ought to be possible to figure out what the phase of the moon was when we did the run. I may see what I can do once I get some other stuff done that I'm working on.

If you don't count total number of mobs killed how does this data tell us anything? Aren't drop rates based on percentages?

Unless a GM determines how many drops your LS will get before hand by entering day, moon phase, and number of THF's in his calculator.

Kill 200 mobs in one Dynamis Bastok (moon 50%) and then 250 next time (moon 0%), if your drops increase from 4 to 5 then you still can't say that 0% moon drop rate is higher than 50% moon. Without percentages this data is useless.

each zone is cleared except xarcbard to the right of typical camp 1.

Same way every time, same number of mobs, give or take 5
