Funny Noob Sayings. ^_^Follow

I was in sand the other day, and I decided to do the eco-warrior quest. I made a macro that said something around the lines of "We need lots of lvl 20s and up for ecowarrior quest, send me a tell if u want to join, great reward."
So I do every idk... 2 or 5 minutes and I ALWAYS got at least 1 tell from a lvl 7 or something warrior with no subjob saying he wants to come, and I would say scarcastically (however the hell u spell it)are you level 20 and up?
Eventually I came to a guy who didn't understand levels and kept asking to join and after an hour I said ARE YOU LEVEL 20 YOU DAMIT!!!
and he said "why are u so mean" and it did make me feel kind of bad, but I just rolled my eyes and left.
Dam quest took 3 hours by the way =PPPPP.

2 mins ago I didn't something that made me feel like a complete idiot. I opened up my cup noodle only to find that I forgot to take out the seasoning package before I put water in it......Yes, it is not FFXI related, but I feel like a noob anyway since I just finished reading this thread :P

This was't really a quote but a funny little story at least to me and the other more skilled player in our group of noobs.

I was leveling my THF up after hiting 25whm/17blm and was currently 15thf/7mnk so where do I go --- The DUNES of course.

Anyway I get into this party with 4 obvious noobs and me THF and another exp WAR. Anyway After the first battle I notice that the WHM is resting as well as everyone else except me ant the exp war. The other two melee/tanks were resting. So we are standing there and finally the WHM says why arn't THF and WAR resting. So I chime in well actually none of the non mages should be resting since we need to save our TP to do Weapon Skills so we can kill the mobs faster. So the WHM is like FINE but it will take longer if I have to heal you after the fight. The WAR and I just chuckled to each other in tells.

So the next fight goes on and we take a good beating. The 4 melee people are 1/2 hit points and the WHM is sitting down cause she has like no MP. So after gaining half her MP she stands up and starts casting cure II on the 4 of us and she only gets half of us healed and sits down again. Rinse Repeat. I say nothing.

So the third fight goes on in the same way...its over 4 melee people are half dead she rests gets MP stands up to start casting cure II on us. So as a WHM myself I chime in Hey your a lvl 16 whm right, you have divine seal. Why don't you cast mini benediction on us after the battle (Divine Seal + Curaga) it only takes 60 MP and it gets the job done faster and more efficeintly then CURE II one at a time. She was like I would but I used divine seal during the battle to save WAR. I was like oh ok.

So fourth fight same senerio, and I once again chime in You have 60 MP you should do Mini Benediction now. She was like well I can't I used divine seal during battle. I just chuckled to myself, how did I make it to lvl 25 without ever casting divine seal during battle..lol..just lucky I guess.

But in the end the funny part is. We are playing on and during the break between fights there was a Goblin Leecher near camp and we were set to fight the Damslefly. So our WHM chimes in hey make sure you kill the Goblin before fighting the fly or the Goblin will kill us.

The war and I just chuckled to ourselves...now the noob whm is giving us Tactical Advise....lmao. So I politly said we can't just fight anything that comes our way that Goblin will kill us.

Don't get me wrong I was new once (and in many ways still am) and I was in no way yelling or mean to this WHM in fact I tried hard to help her be a better more efficient WHM as politly as possible but she just wouldn't listen and the tactical advise just made me smile. Something I hadn't done in the Dunes in a long long time. So I guess I had her to thank for that :-) A succefull smile in Vulkurm Dunes.

Thanks and hope you like my long probably not to funny story.

My little noob story: When I first found out what a linkshell was I really wanted to be in the one that looked like a bag. It seemed like *everyone* was in that "shell". ^^

I finally have my own noob moment...And the most horrible/funny thing about it is that it envolved a JPN player. *DOH*

I was in W Saru playing my lvl 8 RDM. Hunting crawlers, and finding harvesting points. I get this tell and it all goes down hill from there.

>can you speak japanese?<
I know how to use the auto translator..but not USE it...so I reply with a :(
Then I get cocky and try using it but I can't find the translation for "no". I finally find no...start looking for apologize or sorry, or forgive me...but just at that right moment when in the S's...my brittnay spaniel decides to use my keyboard as a spring board and hits ENTER. I have no idea what that 2nd word was. I know what it said in english..but have no idea what it was or what it ment. And no way to explain that my dog had stepped on the keyboard. ROTFLMBO!!

So I'm feeling really bad..jeeze all he wanted to know was if I spoke Japanese..the :( would of sufficed..but NOOOOOOO I had to do what I did. I was certian that he'd never talk to me again....and was thinking..supid NA player.

But lo and behold...the other night when I was playing I got the same tell from him again. I knew how to say "no" this time...and he ended up asking me if I wanted to party. (so apparently what I sent him didn't make him think I was totally nuts)but I had to just send "no" again because I could barely keep my eyes open and I was scared to death just thinking of trying to party using the auto translate! O_o And having never partied with JPN players...I just don't want to give NA any more bad player stories on their end. LOL

Does player arrogance fit this thread? I dunno but here's my story.

I'm leveling SAM in Dunes and find a party fairly quickly. We're all levels 13-14. We find a camp and are there for more than an hour. The XP was slow because we didn't have a dedicated WHM and the RDM's had limited MP. Well, after we'd been at this spot for more than an hour, another party decides to move in too.

Ok, not a big deal, they're level 10 so we're not going after the same mobs. I'm out looking for a mob and find a Tink and I pull it. My arrow flies blissfully away right as I read, "Gob Pop at camp!"

...

So, I run back to camp with my Tink and we start fighting it. Well the other gob decided that he wanted to join in the fun. My party ends up zoneing and part of the other party ends up zoneing for some unrelated reason as well. I'm running to Konst and die. I respawn and start running back to camp.

When I get back to camp, this prick (I so want to say Jubiejanks name...oops) is blaming us for "training mobs to other people to get them killed". I pipe up and say we did nothing wrong. He threatens to call a GM, blah blah blah.

The Tink decided that he hadn't had enough so came running back to our camp. So I voke the Tink and start running back to Konst. While running I get a tell from this guy saying that we've violated the EULA and if it happens again he's calling a GM. I zone, rest a little bit, collect my thoughts, then go back to Dunes.

I reply back that my party had done nothing wrong. Explained the pull plus the pop caused problems. His response: "Whatever, you don't know what you're talking about. Blacklisted. And tell friends that if it happens again, I'm calling a GM." WOOHOO!! My first confirmation of being put on someones blist. I don't care. So I add him to mine as well.

I actually took him off because I wanted to see if he'd saying anything about myself or out party. He didn't, but the nerve of some people. Oh, I didn't bother to find out his job levels and rank.

Yeah I know..LOL. This person has been on the last few times I have been...so if they are on tonight I might just ask them if they want to party. We'll see though. ^_^

I'm sure this one has been stated but I found it hilarious. While leveling in Quifim our blm kept telling our puller: "Would you please pull the worm to us!? I'm tired of chasing you guys around!!" XD

This one is a funny one ^_^.

My real life friend Greg was playing ff11, had just gotten his second moghouse upgrade so I said can I borrow your bed. He whined about how his bed was already on the auction house, so no. I was like ok whatever, it's cool I can buy my own bed *grumble*. He was like I would but I have to buy my third upgrade and thats spensive. *Grumble ******** from me.

A few hours later I get this tell and hear it over the linkshell.

Greg: *bleep (explicative deleted) bleep bleep*

me: what?

Greg: I just threw away my royal bed!

Me: Lmao *thinking (serves ya right you greedy jerk wink)

Greg: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Me: Are you serious?

Greg: Well you see I was heading back from the Ghelsba Outpost and I had an extra key but no room. So I went to throw away the key so I'd have room. I came back to town to place my bed. Hmmn, why is that key still in my inventory and I have room? *Panic* Shhhhhttttt! WHERE'S MY ROYAL BED!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!80k down the drain. /cry

Me: *translator* /comfort
Secretly I'm laughing so hard I'm about to fall off the chair. Later when we were discussing it on the phone I was teasing him about it. He makes quite a good impression of a wookie crying. ^_^

Not Trying to start an argument but would like to learn more.

I am mostly a WHM but I do have a THF leveled up that I enjoy playing. I pull or try to pull as often as possible with my THF and from my experience if your out pulling a gob and another gob (in this case) spawns in your camp shouldn't you zone your gob or run him far away. This gives your party time to zone their gob or fight and kill it (hopefully) before you get back with your gob.

This is a good piont about pulling I would like your input on.

Thanks,

The post above about those bazaar bags made me remember the total noob thought I had when I first saw those. For the longest time I thought those icons were horse heads! I thought you got that if you could ride a chocobo and I couldn't figure out why there wouldn't be a chocobo head instead! :-P

Um...maybe back away a few feet from the screen and you'll see it too? *blush*

One of my noob moments:

I'd just gotten into a lnikshell and was going back to my moghouse. Right outside, I run into someone with the same colored linkshell icon and I automatically assume we're in the same linkshell. I say hi and he responds, then checks me and walks away. I felt so embarrassed when I checked the linkshell list and found out he wasn't on it.

In most cases, yes. The pop was far enough away that I thought we could battle the tink and then get ready for this new gob. Well, according to SE, gobs are nomadic, which means the move...a lot. Which is what happened with this gob. >.< He wandered to our camp and joined in the fun. ;_;

From the exact opposite of noobs:
I'm in Altepa as a 32 RDM grouping with part of a SPT levelling their subs. Gobs of fantastically expensive stuff and HQ items.

After a few pulls I get kicked.

<me>: ??? Why'd you do that?
<party leader>: You haven't cast Refresh one damn time so far!
<me>: ...

Then he remembered we're all 32 and brought me back in. Ended up with plenty of XP.

Oh my god, this is the most wonderful thread ever. Here are my additions:

-- Yes, I too at one point thought that the bazaar bag icons were an LS icon. I was like "man, that's a cool LS icon, I wish my LS had an icon like that." -_-

-- One day while logging in Ghelsba Outpost with my mentor status on, some Lv8 MNK ran up and /telled me, "I really want in an LS." I didn't want to say anything, because my LS is a very limited thing, like only to a few people that we really really like, and I don't like having to turn people down. A few seconds later, though, he /tells again, "I want the one with the 'M.'" I was in nice guy mode so I /telled the guy "the 'M' is for mentors ^^;;;;;;".

-- The other day I was reading a quest forum here on Allakhazam, I think the SAM quest one. I noticed how some guy posted that he soloed the Forger easily, and used Barrage and Sidewinder to nearly kill the thing. So my LS is wondering what level and job this guy is, and I'm like, "well, I think Barrage is a RNG ability." So I check the RNG page here and I'm like "no, looks like RNG doesn't get Barrage...ooh, but we do get an ability called 'Rapid Shot' at level 30." I was promptly enlightened that Barrage is Rapid Shot. -_- It gets better. After that, I was still confused as to which job exactly Sidewinder was for. So I checked MNK and THF too, and neither of them had it, and I was like "okay, what the hell is Sidewinder, it's not RNG or MNK or THF..." My LS-mates then had the pleasure of informing me that it's a weapon skill. Ahh, the fun... -_-

While heading to the Kazham Airship I was stopped by a panicky Taru who said the Galka wouldn't accept the keys for the airship pass. After confirming he had the correct keys, etc. I finally asked, "Do you have the expansion installed?"

He paused. "The what?"

/facefault "The Zilart Expansion. Kazham is part of the expansion."

"Oh... What's an expansion?"

I was over at my friend's house and he had just gotten the game at the time , it must have been 2 weeks ago, we had made a Taru BLM and made him in Sandy and this Elvaan Warrior was puzzled:

War:"How did you get to San d'Oria so fast?"
Us:"I kinda started my character here."
War:"Stop playing with me , how did you get here so fast?"
Us:"I started here , I'm a citizen of San d'Oria."
War:"There is no sense in talking to a little noob **** like you, you noobs always think that your right."(This guy was only level 5 and he though of himself as a superior player)
Us:"Well in this case I am..."
He left and started shouting:"Dont talk to the ****** over there and pointed at our character."

Im getting the game the last week of school, and my friend has seen the guy lately , Im ready to confuse him once again
