Hey TDarkmoon what are you doing right now that's keeping you from FFXI?
#29 Sep 11 2004 at 4:06 AM Rating: Good
my comp that I play ffxi on has been dead for 2 weeks, lol. Waiting for dell to get around to sending me the part I need to run it. They said it would be here by last friday (one week from yesterday) at the latest...I'm still waiting.

Ouch, I have a Dell too. Guess that's a good heads up if anything dies on me.

Poor CD Drive is sounding like it, but I think it's more of a dust thing that I need to clean out.

From what I understood, NONE of the content was going to be unlocked until NA release september 21st. Sounds cool though man. Can't wait to hear about all the new job abilities.

What would be the point in releasing it on Sep. 16th is Europe then?
What would be the point of the update Sep. 13th?

The point would be to get everything ready for the releases several days in advance. As for him recieving the game, like he said the company he ordered through is notorious for shipping really early.

Also it's a fact game stores get some games weeks in advance.

Wow, that was a mission.

It ended up as a race between my scanner and a couple of cavemen carving it on a stone tablet.

Anywho.. Below is the first 2 pages...

That's everything from the CoP part of the UK manual. If anything else crops up i'll scan the offending pages in and upload them here.

Now, everyone get to bed so I can go actually play the damn thing! ;)

I'm assuming that you got 1 big book to cover the game and both expansions, as it says page 134 and 135 at the top of the book.

By the way, this puts you in my good book.

heh ^.-

Yeah, it's just one big book, like the US did with RoZ tacked onto the end of the main manual. It has RoZ and CoP tacked on to the end of this one.

If you venture into any of the new areas be sure to post any pictures, and input. Not sure if you'd be able to though.

Thank you for the scans - as much as it didn't reveal anything new, it's still cool to see what the book might be looking like (at least for the CoP section of the book). Hopefully, the expansion-only booklet will be a lot thinner than what you European folks received with your copy of FFXI and CoP.

Good thing is that all of the updated contents will be activated on the 21st of September, which falls on a Tuesday, and naturally, the JP folks gets to get it first before we do, unless they meant that we all get it at the same time on the 21st, or 20th for the rest of the world. We'll have to wait and see about this part.

You won't be able to access the new areas that you have installed with the CoP discs, at least until the 21st. It'll still be there, but it's not activated yet.

i believe that they will activate the new area's on the 16th of sept for both the JP and EU release. this way they have 5 days to see if any prob's arrise, and also stress test their servers with the new material and iron out any bugs they see before the 21th of sept.

PLEASE answer the one important question for Euro players.

If you have a NA version created acccount, can we REGISTER EU COP with that account? Or will POL spit out a message about incompatible versions and make us have to import the NA version?

Square have given about conflicting advice on this one. If I buy EU all in one and can't use my 74 Dragoon with it, I will not be best pleased. If you have the EU all in one pack, you can answer this question and save us all a week or so of agonising over which version to get.

Hey, I live in England to, and as with Gaharay, I am confused over which version to get.. At first I thought, get the european all in one, and just use the expansion disc, but, of course, compatibility problems would probably pop up and slap me in the face.

Which version can, and did you order from simplygames.co.uk?

If that works for you, with the American version. I'm ordering my copy now.
