I would go but it's too far for me to travel. (Chicago)

I agree with what some people said earlier. If they make a list of cities they will have this party at, and make them like a month apart. I think it would get a higher rate of attendance.

They should make warp 2 available to everyone on the day of the party so we could all go :)

Maybe a tele-frisco free to all players on that day?

But seriously, id love to go but cant travel all the way across the country for it.

In general response to this as a masquerade event, I would have chosen los angeles over san francisco, since that's where the majority of the costumers in california are. San Francisco would have been 2nd choice, but then again, maybe it was.

When it comes to pure practicality, the announcement for this wasn't made very long ago.. .maybe a month or less? That's barely enough time to make a costume especially for someone who's never made one before. 3-4 month notice would have been nice, and i think you will see a much better turnout of participants if you give them more time. I help run the Anime Expo and Pacific Media Expo masquerades and that's just a bit of my advice. :)

I want to go, and might be. Just 2 hours from SF. I think it's a great idea and love that SE is doing something like this. I just wish I had a really niffy costume to win with. ; ; Maybe SE could annouce events a little bit earlier? That way people have more time to plan and get ready.^^

You guys are all missing it! Yes SF is a problem not because its so far away (60 miles or less) but because SF sucks, have you ever been there? granted there is chinatown and strip clubs which are nice but thats it. The rest is just **** and want to be ****, and if your gay you should go you will have a great time, but I would be more likly to go if it were in NY.

Plus I dont like to dress up much, but a DRK or PLD set up would be sweet. And if you go lots of pics and all that.

last thought the strip clubs sound nice maybe I will swing by on the way to one.

I'm going with my girlfriend (she also plays and is probably a bigger FFXI nut than me). I'm going as Edge from FF4 and she is going as Gogo from FF6. It sounds like an awesome event. We went to the CoP preview party they did and that was a lot of fun (3 free meals!). The raffles have good prizes, the trivia is fun and the online event was really cool (preview of CoP, I wonder what kind of online event they'll have this time).

What I want to see is an unique online event, fun costumes, and cool prizes in the raffle.
What I want to hear is some good dance music! Hopefully some good drum and bass to get excited over, this is San Francisco, if any town in the U.S. can do a dance party it's here!

I can't wait till Saturday!

I'd love to go and meet fellow FFXI'ites except 1) California and Montreal aren't just across the country from each other..it's pretty much across the continent lol. Why couldn't they have an event the times I was in Cali ooooooo why :: sob ::...ok enough drama. 2) Even if I wanted to go school completely PWNS me.

In conclusion if it was in Montreal or somewhere drivable I'd go but no way am I going to take a plane to SF just for that heh.

I would love to have attended, but as usual all the events take place in california or are announced the weekend before so i can not make time to attend,(this being the event in NY just a few months ago at one of the gaming conventions up there). I wish that these events were a little more localized so more people could be able to attend. I live in Kentucky so its a little hard to get to california without spending alot of money.

i would love to go almst more than anything, but it was announced rather to soon to the actual event and can't get time off work to travel there :(. i hope it is amazing and all the people going have tons of fun.

i hate california ; ; they get all the good stuff... cute girls... nice beaches... decent weather... SE HQ... NYC stinks ; ;

they should hold a cosplay event in pennsylvania... that way its like the center of all the people on the East Coast... its kind of annoying that EVERYTHING happens on the west cost ;; (i think more people play on East Coast then on West Coast anyway...ah well) maybe someone will actually read this and feel sorry for us.. ;;

i was going to dress my little brother as a taru for halloween, and for the event, if it was on the East Coast... as for me... Live By the Dark Arts, Kill by the Dark Arts... BLM AF is pimpin' ^.~!

PA is center of east coast? Not likely. Try somehwere around Virgina.

But yea, there needs to be something on the East Coast, we don't get anything cool.

I just want to weigh in here. Echoing the Location ideas. There should be at least an East Coast and West Coast location. I would drop 50 bucks to get in but I don't have the time to fly out and back. The U.S. is a big place with a large numbers of players. I don't think 2 locations would spread us too thin.

And yes a location in Europe would be good too. Probably 2 locations at least there.

I would love to go to an event like this. Doesn't have to be Halloween; I'd just like to go. Only problem is I live on the East Coast of the U.S. in Tennessee. So for me to take off work buy a plane ticket and hotel; it's just not worth it. If it were closer I'd go. Thanks for hearing us out. See all of you in game.

SE should realize only 1% of all the America-based US players live close to the designated area for the party. US is too large, in Japan, doing a party in one location is good enough, they can maybe get 5%-20% of their total player base to go, if they choose the right location, Tokyo, or Osaka, for example. But, in the US, they'd need to do, at least 25 parties to be able to get 25% of their player base to assist. For me, I highly doubt Puerto Rico will ever have a party of that sort, if they did it, I would definitely go, though.

Anyways, it's a great idea, SE, keep it up! I love everything you do, except EST Monday afternoon updates.

The problem here seems to be that too many people live on the east coast. You should be here in San Francisco, it's just better.

tee hee, jk!!! They should cater to everyone...perhapse a party in the Ukraine or Swaziland! tee hee

I want to go, but I won't be going. I also live in the SF Bay Area. The reason is that I don't think I'll be meeting anyone that I can interact with in the game.

I mean sure, we all play FFXI, we probably have some commmon interests. However, there is a high probability that in FFXI, "the reason I am going", everyone at the party will be on different servers.

I went to one of the CoP parties, and I think they need to do more to promote some sort of "server" gathering. Then we can meet/not meet/meet new people at our server, and gather online, say we had a great time, etc....

At the CoP party, the trivia and the in game race was fun. How about a Simon says emote contest, you have to do the emote from the particular race/gender, judging, on stage, it will be funny. I know it is hard to be social sometimes but, I think it is better than hearing about how much gil you have more than me, and how my equipment sucks compared to yours, and how you have +1 everything...

As a player, I really appreciated the CoP party. I hope SE does an even better job with this, since there is a $30 entrance fee. Maybe I'll change my mind and go :P

I'd agree with many of the other posters here on multiple locations for the event, since playing for eight months, I've met more people in canada and on the east coast than the two or three handfulls of people on the west coast.

My only beef is the short preperation time. I WILL be in San Fran, and I WILL have the door covor charge in py pocket, but theres a very large chance I wont be able to attend due to the fact that I've spent nearly three months preparing for a convention spanning the 29th to the 31st.

There was, what, eighteen days advance notice? Throwing a party for an expected large base of people should have more notice time than that, especially for those people that would have to come out of state to attend if at all.

Not to mention preperation time for all those people who wanted to make AF armor costumes, or someone like me who had been considering dressing up as Prince Trion (I'm a nut, go figure).

Those who do attend though, I hope they have a blast :)

If they had one in Chi-Town, I would be there. And I would drag my wife too.

Like everyone is saying:

Great idea, would love to go; but I'm from Jersey, and California is just too far away.

Well, I know it sucks for all of those who aren't near California or San Francisco at that. When I saw the letter go out to all ppl in FF Online, I got excited, cause I live only a 2 hour drive. I have that day scheduled off & I have my costume (going as a Dark Knight). I'm working out the driving logistics, as traffic is going to be horrible.

SE should have these parties available more wide-spread, so everyone has an equal opportunity to show off their elaborate costumes and have ppl from the same area meet each other in Real Life - always nice to put a face behind a name of a character you see all the time on your server. :P There's my input.

I'll thinking about bringing my trusty Digital Camera and gets lots of pics for all of you who aren't able to make it, so I can find a way to post them and get you to see what it looked like and how it was. Least I can do. If you think I should bring my digital camera and take pictures of the event, please E-Mail me at djjaytee@hotmail.com. If I don't hear from anyone, I'll leave my camera at home, as I'd rather not hafta lug around more than I need.

See ya!

PS - I'm curious to know if anyone from Quetzalcoatl are coming.
