I think these parties they've been having should be located in more areas. I'd really like to go but the problem is I don't have the ability to because I live in CT...the party's about 3-4000 miles away from me -_-. Just make some in other areas and I'd be glad to go no matter what the price.

Next year throw a party in New York, then the year after that throw one in Houston, Year after that make it LA, year after that Chicago, year after that Miami..... etc etc

I'd love to go. ^^ But I can't, cause I'm too young, can't afford a plane ticket from MN to the party (forgot where it was. ^^;; So there might be another problem), and I'm too busy with school and stuff.

But it'd be so awesome to go! :@

I would love to go, and was planning on it. but unfortunately i am leaving the country on business for my job... heh

Honestly, I am tired of any and all events occuring, in-game and in real life, on the west coast. I am in Illinois, near Chicago, and would *love* to see an event out here. I'm sure there would be a bigger turn out here than in California. I worked with Game Stop last year and our region had the second highest sales in the country. The midwest region (Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, etc.) has more sales than any California, yet we rarely get a decent conference out here. I really hope to see SE in Chicago sometime soon.

On the event itself, I would go if it weren't for the distant factor. These events/conferences/parties are always fun because I can end up meeting people in my area with the same intrests as me. Switch between locations, that is my 2-cents. Not everyone lives in New York and Los Angeles.

I won't be there... I got a job to go to and the game takes enough of my life already hehehe.

Sounds like a good time - but extremely iscolated for the very diverse range of players. From all around the globe, only someone with a big chunk of money can afford to take a week off work and travel for a masquerade party...hehe, i don't qualify into that category. But have fun....maybe next time, try and get more people to sponsor events, all around the globe, so everyone has a better shot at being a part of it.

Well from the posters here who are going (and some who aren't) it sounds like everyone would be in RDM costumes! That doesn't sound like too much fun ...

I'd go as a Beastmaster!! Or maybe a summoner, and my girl would be Shiva =)

I think I'ma have to agree with the general thought of the response of the thread .. I live in Tampa, FL .. dont feel like trekking cross country for a few hour SE event .. I would gladly drive to ATL or even NY for a SE event .. I <3 SE and own all Square games .. but please accommodate us here on the east coast .. preferably make several events for those fans in the central and mountian states too .. my 2 cents

Anyone who needs a Refresh, head to San Fran this weekend. You'll have all the RDM you need. :)

Once I'm out of college me and my girl will travel to wherever it is held cuz we're both game junkies. Still think it would be way cool if they threw these parties at different locations... California cant have all the fun.

I personally think the Masquerade Party is a good idea.

If I lived in San Francisco, or within easy driving distance of SF, I'd probably attend the party.....unfortunately, as I live in Dallas, I wouldn't be able to attend.

Perhaps in the future, they might pick a city in the center of the US to hold this party.....would make it easier for people to attend....

I don't live that far away from San Fran, but the one thing keeping me from being able to go:

Time

They gave us 1 whole month to hurry and plan if we were to attend this party. No matter where you are in the US, you can usually get round trip tickets for only $200, and hotels are decently priced in advanced. But to give us only 1 month, to plan, ask for time off, and get a costume ready just isn't good enough.

A lot of people seem to be complaining about location. I think this should be a 1 location event. If there are 5 locations, then that lowers the chance of meeting someone you play with on your server. If given enough time to plan, then everyone should be able to get affordable plane tickets and hotel rooms. If they had this in 5 cities, a lot of people would discuss where they are going and one would be huge and the rest would be pretty small.

Everyone saying it's much too far away, well, it has to be held somewhere. It can't always be in your back yard. I would love to go... maybe next year.

i TOTALLY agree with all the people who comment on having more than 1 event in different area's

i'm from SC, ( USA ) and i'd go in a heart beat, sounds like soooo much fun. but alas i cannot travel like someone else said 1500+ miles to attend... work, school, and other responsibilities (sp*) won't allow that much of a travel to happen.

but if there was one in Atlanta, thats only a 2, maybe 3 hour max drive one way. i'd attend that in a sec !

to all who do go, PLEASE take ALOT of pictures and post. i know me and alot of other would enjoy see'ing what goes on in those events that SE does. too bad i won't be there to take the pics, but oh well what can ya do right....

thx,
Sky

Sounds like a wonderful idea, completely and utterly cool.
But... like most, it's too far. As usual, if you're not at the centers of the world (California and New York) you miss out. Such a shame really.
I live in the Dallas area and we get A-Kon every year... why not come out with the A-Kon Krew and do some events there, SE?
That would be awesome. I'm sure some other big cities have conventions and so on as well. Not everyone can live in sunny California :P

I would go, however, I get my fix of Japanese hatred and bigotry toward North Americans the old fashioned way: in-game. No need for me to hear it from them in real life.

Rate me down.
I don't mind.
The truth hurts.

I notice the RDM part too, lol, guess it'll be a RDM only party!

Actually that's not entirely true, I've read posts of people going as FFIV or FFVI characters, and the pictures they showed were clearly of Lulu and a chocobo I think.

My theory on why so many enthusiastic responses from RDMs is:

1. cuz our AF is so pimptastic!
2. cuz it's one of the easiest to make. No armor, very distinctive, anyone with a red get up and a red hat pretty much qualifies as the RDM AF.

And I'm sorry Haggan and Pikko aren't going, would have loved to meet you guys in person!

It'd be nice if SE would hold several events at the same time in different areas. Not everyone that plays this game lives close to the west coast. They should have 3 different parties spread out over the nation...something like West Coast (like they have), Mid-West (St. Louis?), and East Coast (New York City, maybe). Spread them out and more players would have been able to attend.

I'll be going. It should be a bit of fun. It will be nice to mingle with other nerds like myself who, instead of going out on a friday night, sit around and play ffxi all the night through. And I like the metreon. Ive only been there once but it was dope when I went. Its also an hour and a half away.
