I only live about an hour away, and I'll be skipping this event. I just don't feel the need for this sort of event, especially since my age probabaly places me higher than most people going.

If the event actually gave me the possiblity of giving direct feedback that would make it's way to the development team, or to be able to ask questions about the game to the development team, I would go.

Hurray! i can't believe they're actually having this in San Francisco. Lucky for me I live in San Francisco, yet i don't know if i can make it because i have to study :_( .
if i did go, is it a faux pas if i don't dress up as a FF character? i'm addicted, but not that addicted.

well, if i go, hope to see all the crazy fans of FF there :D

I would love to go as well. Unfortunately, it is too far away. I think it would make sense for SE to hold events somewhere in the middle of the country. (i.e. Chicago) So that no one would have to travel all the way across the country, onyly half at most.

Like many other people on this thread, the party is just to far away with so little notice. I can see the reasoning behind having it in SF but I wish that the mid-west could see some of these types of conventions/gatherings.

Oh. At first I thought you meant in game.

Would I go? Depends on where it's at, and the price. I'm not going to travel 500 miles, but I might travel 150 miles or so. Hold it in more than one city.

I'd be there in a second if it was closer. Even remotely close.
I'd even go as far as Vancouver, BC (I live in Edmonton, AB)

Would be really cool to have more in more places during the year.

Well, my rl wife and I will be attending, especially as they lowered the cost.
My only problem is, what the heck will I do for a costume?
I has to be cheap, I don`t care about winning the contest, as I`m sure there will be some De-lux costumes.
Also, `online events`? as in: `exclusive online events, and/or items`?
Well, I hope to see as many as possible, there!

Good Hunting!

I'm also mildy disturbed by the age difference. SciFi/Fantasy events can get a bit... Well, you know. It's awesome that FF lets you totally break age (not to mention race and nationality) boundaries for teams and friendships! But, unfortunately, in the real world that doesn't work quite as well. What are the 15-year-olds going to do? They _will_ be there- are they going to be escorted by the parents who don't play? (Oh yeah, THAT'LL be fun, poor kids ^^) Or are they going to get dropped off and run around on their own? :::shudder::: That seems like a disaster waiting to happen, I'm afraid. It only takes one predator, and you know there's got to be at least one...

Sorry I guess I'm a glass-half-empty kinda guy. But I think that is a valid fear.

I'm 15 ; ;

I agree that bringing my non-playing parents wouldn't be very fun, but then again, my friend and his mom both play... >.>

I would kinda like to go because I only live an hour away, but I don't have a costume ready and I have an annoyingly large homework load. :(

Basically, if it's something that young players can take their non video-gamer parents to without having it be a bore (or embarassing, etc.), then I suppose it's worth going to.

Man... When I found about this party wow I was excited! There is no way I will be able to go because of the location, I am in the Seattle, Washington area. i think it would be an awesome idea to have these kinds of parties in the different cities at the same time. Seattle, LA, Portland, NY, etc... I would definitely go if there was one in Seattle. Thanks Square-Enix! =D
