Die, Riddel. Just f*cking die already. I will not do what SE says. I refuse to pt because they "say so".

Again, die.

I'm curious to know why you play their games then.

The very fact a SE rep did show up is proof the bottom line is hurting!

at the high point of SE's FFXI era there was well over 1 million players the number has dropped into the low hundred thousands no where near half a million now and every update they implemented a Nerf of one kind or other more players jumped ship and since its become a standard to Nerf one job after another they are alienating their customer base with every move they make.

they had to come ask "what do you want?"

but one more time SE's reps show just how far up their rectums they can bury their heads!

they act like mcpukes does by not listening and implementing the virtual equivalent of the BBQ rib burger that flopped so bad! but unlike mcpukes they keep tossing one lousy idea after another at their customers eroding the customer base steadily!

SE is sh*tting itself over WOW's numbers 4 million players for a far more simplistic game is burning their asses and the continuing loss of players for FFXI has forced them to actually ask whats wrong with our game?

but the question however well intentioned was too little too late and about the wrong thing!

also by all evidence they decided to unilaterally implement changes in a way that does little to actually fix the underlying problem!

say what you will but taking a game from over a million players to barely 1/5th that shows how poorly SE has managed the game and they don't have a chance in hell of reviving the player base!

1)customer support:

A)if its not a technical matter the likelihood of anything ever being done is almost ZERO!

B)take a look at the support structure its set up in a way to keep a very real barrier between the paying customer and SE even the direct phone in support brings you to a company NOT actually part of SE!

C)Email support is laughable at best so is the suggestions Email address since both are direct lines to file 13 or did you actually believe they read 500,000 Emails+ a week? only the technical aspects get even the slightest support since their required to otherwise they could be dropped by the BBB and other groups that monitor software and service companies(by the way SE has an F rating by BBB already).

D)Updates are one point of contention that SE fervently ignores its problems with! they have yet to deal with getting updates to the players with any semblance of caring how bad the downloading of which is! never have they tried to set up any form of temp servers to alleviate the congestion that invariably occurs every update!

2)the game in General:

The game was developed to be a proactive community based game.

A)yet the very nature of online players is exactly why this system will force out the best people while leaving the scummiest most self serving lowlifes behind to remove the very community the game was intended to create!

B)the chat system was created to bring large groups together which at first worked great until the onset of HNMLSs where the LSs created even greater rifts between players and outright hostility and MPKs among the players! it also kept the two major language groups apart denying the very melting pot SE was so full of itself about!

C)the economy was made to be player active and worked quite well during the Japanese year and about the first year after NA launch at which point the Gil sellers had cropped up and the greedy players willing to burn their fellow players to get ahead started the ever increasing inflation the game now boasts.

D)Notorious monsters were created to have multiplayer challenges with some rare rewards for conquering the monsters.
good idea in theory till you add thousands of players all vying for the same targets and compound the problem by having some items far more popular than most and you get even greater animosity among the players further eroding the community SE wanted the players to have!

E)characters have several major flaws the most glaring being lack of customising and individuality even simple color choices when receiving AFs would have added tons of possibilities that were left out making towns full of same looking characters.
the skills characters have and are by peer pressured into developing are quite narrow making most any rdm interchangeable with a like leveled rdm or same for any job, sub job choices are not individual choices but what the parties will accept or demand of the player.all of which removes any individuality a player may try to achieve for their character!

F)Zones overall the graphics and lush looks of most zones are wonderful yet great views and vistas hardly make up the lack of out of town places the overly barren zones seem to have few ruins or houses and civilisation exists other than the few dungeons the zones have. outposts don't qualify very well considering how large most zones are! since when does humanity not live outside of three main towns and half a dozen small towns? there's no farming, hunters shacks ...etc....and what little there is has no interactivity empty towers with ladders we cant climb or a set of useless stairs....etc shows how little they thought about things out of town!

G)Quests are long and drawn out and only about 1/4 of them are actually worth the effort of completing yet many quests are forced upon the players simply to be able to do other quests.
some quests are total time sinks like the chocobo quest with its six hrs waste of time only to be licenced for rent-able chocobos after a story that leads to believe that a personal chocobo was gained (probably a crappy translation issue).
this is where SE gets mostly accused of monthly fee fishing, by making quest after quest time sinks for some crappy reward only so you can access a good reward quest!

H)End game activities are all large group only and set up in such a way to force groups to play against each other defeating the very community the game was supposed to be!the items available from these activities also creates problems among the very groups it took to accomplish as well as the never ending nightmare of co-ordinating times for so many people in different time zones and differing lifestyles!

at this point i'll stop simply because i'm sick of typing and have better things to do than point out why I was willing to drop my account and toss the 300$+ in fees and the cost of the game to the wind not counting the countless hrs working up my characters!

this game had a ton of potential but SE really droped the ball on many counts and is not likely to ever get this one right maybe they will get the next one right we'll see!

It's pretty sick to see how some of you have noticed that a SE represenative is here and all you do is talk s*it. You don't even try to be civil, or make some reccomendations now that you know they are here now listening. /sigh

I think the mobs were fine before the update. It is much more realistic when the mob doesn't dissapear out of thin air just because someone died or /escaped. As far as mpk goes, I have always said that GM 's should have more power, and more tools to be able to tell if someone has been mpked, so they can punish the offenders.

Finally, on the topic of gilsellers.. the only thing I can think of that would even do anything is that you need to make more of the top items quested for, rare / ex, or crafted from quested or rare/ex items. The sad truth is that greedy players gave lazy players the oppurtunity to cheat.... and that in the end it is probably the buying players that have created this atmosphere of popular rare items available at all times for five times as much as they cost a few months ago... this is why if there were a new server with no migration option (only new start) I would be there in a second.

Well that is my final request... you may have already been thinking about making a new server for xb 360 players but I would ask that you consider either making that one lv 1 only or make another one that is lv 1 only. Much of the excitement gained from this game is from discovering new things, and doing things that noone else can do, and I don't think many people have had this oppurtunity at all.... Anyone remember this video ?

the person calling people idiots and brain dead pathetic rejects yet it seems hasn't read all the posts wrote:
Are you people that pathetic that you have to harrass employees of SE because you dont like a product. If you dont like the product, dont pay for it! It seems like most of you idiots dont get that this is a video game. Are you that sad that you need to revolve your life around a video game.

If SE update is that much of an issue quit the @#%^ing game!

It's pretty amusing to watch people say that SE does not know what they are doing but at the same time the same people are paying SE for the game and making SE money, what a bunch of pathetic rejects.

Actually, quite a few of us aren't paying SE anymore.

Calling the public relations dept is not harrasment. Calling yuou to sell you magines might be, calling you just to prank you, call anmes, yes. Anyone calling SE just to curse etc, would be doing wrong, but don't lump everyone into that catagory, its getting old fast. The BS of claiming that we are harrassing/threatening SE employees needs to stop, its a baseless and slanderous generalization. If you know of a specific instance of someone harrassing or threatening, yell at that person, quit lumping everyone together.

I made exactly 2 calls. The 1st was hung up before I even said anything. The second was placed on hold for 20 minutes and I hung up. I have not harrassed or threatened. But I'll bet people who want us all to shut up and "suck it up" will ignore these facts. I have not "spammed" email or the feedback and suggestions form. I tried to make my feeling known, then cancelled my account.

yeah you'd think people would actually read the posts and responses to the same thing they are about to post, instead of repeating what someone else said which was already refutted, and insulting each other while they are at it. Hell I don't think theres one thing in this thread aside from haggans posts, and all the claims that people are harrasing/threatening SE that have not been posted else where. I actually thought people might read more. Silly me.

What we all want: SE to open a dialog, we have questions not being answered. Heres a small sample:

1) Is the patch buggy or really "as intended" becuase it didn't fix MPK (disbelieve? you have some reading to do, I'm tired of quoting).

2) The "as intended" script come from SE or SoE's end?
SE has SoE people handeling support in NA, who themselves have stated they thought bst was a solo job also but now SE tells them its not. Communication breakdown with SoE?

3) Are you going to do anything about linked agressive mobs (possible patch bug, possibly wrongly thought not a problem) which can still be used to MPK (I've seen situations where they disappear and some where they don't).

4) Are you going to do anything about AoE MPK's (again if you are thionking of saying something about an atempt at serkit, you have some reading to do) such as maybe lowering AoE damage on non party/alliance members.

5) Are you intentionally forcing bsts into party or was that an update side effect. The phrase "working as intended" tells us nothing. Your update details said the change was to fix MPK, and it did not, bst was impacted, some thought it was a bug, so they talk to support and get that phrase. Again, communication breakdown with SoE?

6) Are you aware of the not so great support SoE provides and stuck in contract, or deliberatly avoiding contact with us?

Please note that the despawn does not even need to be undone. Several changes would bring back bst solo ability to what it was, but that doesn't seem to be what SE wants, and therefore should have been mentioned in the update details. The reasoning should have been mentioned to. New solo content that bsts would be to strong for in the new expantion(theory by someone else)? Fine but warn people, and further, that expantion is not here yet..

And ther are MPK issues to resolve.

Final thought: yes you can tell me how you don't get treated better on other MMO's all you want, but I doubt you've played them all. And in MMO's in general its not that great on {i]any[/i] game, because so many customers simply take it. I personally would like to see an industry wide change to that, but its not likely to happen anytime soon. I had high hopes for SE. Perhaps my expectations were simply to much for the "new" SE. I liked them better before they started outsourcing staff.

Its even sicker that you actually think they listened to anything in this thread wake up and smell the ****** your trying to kiss!

The only reason there's a rep from SE here at all was to bolster the idea that SE gives a crap about the players. so! they toss a rep at one of the larger forums for one thread and do exactly as they have up till now ignore the players and force another poorly thought out patch creating one more job tossed onto the pile of NERFED jobs!

think about this before you condemn the players who have voiced gripes vs SE "if SE was actually doing a decent(not even a good at that)job of keeping players happy there wouldn't be tons of dissenting posts here and the game wouldn't be barely a hairs breath away from folding (when you see the worlds start to consolidate it will be the end)from the ever expanding exodus of players"

SE has from the onset placed as much distance as they possibly could between the purchasers of their game and themselves.

they carefully avoided releasing information about the game or stayed as vague as was possible in effect they strived towards having a MMORPG where they dished out whatever they pleased while completely ignoring the very players who were funding them after the original launch they wanted us to buy and pay for the project without ever having to cater to us at all!

if you don't believe that SE had to suddenly come begging for some feed back consider this:
when FFXI was 1 million players they were making approx;$157,000,000.00/year

now that they barely have 2,000,000 or less players they are making approx;$31,400,000.00/year

or a loss of about $125,600,000.00/year and you wounder why SE is tossing a rep to the forum to keep your fee's flowing?
this loss has happened in barely one year they never had the full year of 1 million plus players. in effect when they started to back pat and pop champagne to congratulate themselves about how great they are doing the players were already leaving the game in large numbers!

players aren't nearly as stupid as SE seems to treat them as we don't just blindly keep paying a company that doesn't deal with problems repeatedly voiced to them in many forms and when it became painfully obvious that SE was going to continue turning a deaf ear to those complaints people just packed up and left for other pastures!

I did leave the game and will never return to playing/paying for it again. it was a great game but SE continued to remove the fun of it by some of its actions but just as importantly by its in-actions on things all of which degraded the game past my willingness to pay for it!

ps: by the way if SE really wants to kill the inflation they just have to drop rarety of items by increasing drop rates of all items by doing so they will devalue items makeing it impossible for players to gouge on the AH!

Since the implementation of the new path, the Beastmaster job has taken a serious nose dive. Here is a solution that might work for the benefit of every one.

Those who end up with linked mobs, the mobs will all be red named to the person if the person and/or the person's party attacks them. This eliminates the problem when you are camping a NM and get some links, you're team mates kill the links but some gill seller steals your NM cuz the red name switches to the mob that's being hit. On top of that the idiot GM's say "It happens".
Also I think the mobs disapearing is fine, but for Beastmaster you need to make it so Release causes the mob to act like before: walk slowly back home. Or you can make it so the mob doesnt agro any one when they are on their way back. But with the current system in place, many beastmasters are in a uproar.

Lol, pretty soon this game will be 99% Gilsellers and 1% n00bs who wise up after about 10 lvls and then quit altogether.

I'm only at lvl 12 and am already discouraged to continue and I haven't even witnessed most of these problems.
