I am going to definately play this job! And to the ideas about puppetmaster using MP for puppets don't make sense.

Considering the trailer I am sure we all watched that shows a Puppetmaster resting with thier puppet, and we all know we can't rest with avatars out on summoner.

Puppetmaster just seems different, a gem I would think, also the AF used to be ugly for my eyes. . . now it's kind of growing on me.

(*'-')b I just wish the belt and sleeves were the same color!

I might give the puppetmaster a try, assuming it's not gimpy and isn't a total chore to play in parties (RDM, BRD). The fact that it may be a mimic-type job seems pretty exciting to me, too.
Corsair, I don't know yet, probably the same criterion--if it's not too much of a pain to play, and it's got some potential to do stuff besides pidgeon-holed tactics, I'll give it a shot. I've always been good at /random and blackjack...

Blue mage, though, meh. I get the feeling the way SE's putting it together makes it balanced, but it will be a total kick in the nutbag to play--it looks like you can't have all your spells available at all times, and you can only use certain ones on certain mobs...

idk yet. I was really looking forward to a Mime job, but this isn't really what I was looking for. I'm trying to keep an open mind if this IS a Mime job, but I hope it's a tank and that they'll release a more traditional Mime in later expansions XD

well Puppetmaster will be my choice for my newest job will enjoy seeing what his new abilties are and how to use the puppet.

Unless these new jobs turn out to be better than I expect them to be (which they probably will, to be fair.) I doubt I'll even unlock them.

If BLU is anything like the BLU's of older games then the novelty of it would wear off after a while I'd think... I mean why use jet stream when you could Penta-Thrust >.> Or goblin bomb when you could just -ga spell?

And Corsair.. Well lets just say that lotting and /random is about as much luck as I'm comfortable with.

And now Puppet-master? At the very least it's basically just a new Dragoon, and at best it's what... a Mime? I never really understood the logic of Mimes..... If you wanna do SATA, play THF.

Anyway I'm not gonna judge too harshly till they come out, but I'm crossing my fingers that they turn out ok.

I believe I may play the job puppetmaster. I am not sure though yet. I have been researching Info on it in all these forums and all seem to differ. So, I am just going to have to sit back and wait for it to come out and see the honest truth. After I see what the job can really do I will decide on weither I will play it or not.

The reason I want to play it is only because of a simple nickname I have gotten in game. I play one account Taggerz on my playstation as I play Eric, another account, on my computer. Many started to call me puppetmaster since sometimes I will be making money on one account as I party in the other. ^_^ I grown to like the nickname puppetmaster its pretty kool and think this job would suit me well. Especially if I were to get the job on both chars and party them together at same time lol.

<Nice meeting you.> <Take Care.>

Or this job could really work like the MIME job only renamed to PuppetMaster. Your puppet could mimic the moves of your enemies maybe and you would "control" it...

Correct me if I am wrong, but this isn't how mime works in other final fantasy games. Its how blue mage works.

Blue Mage - uses abilities learned from monsters

Mime - Copies moves from other members of your party

EDIT

Rereading your comment, maybe you meant actually taking over the mob in which case that would be similar to a beastmaster.

Personally, I am hoping its like mime, where the PPM (through some sort of job ability) locks onto a member of their party and the puppet mimics that player.

I can't wait for this.

I'm glad that all 3 new jobs are something different instead of another healer/tank/etc; but this looks like the most "out there" one of the bunch.

This, then Corsair, then Blue will be my playing order, I think.

I wonder if people who underestimate mimes ever played much with Gogo.

I'd play PPT maybe if it was a solo job. I didn't really like BST so if this job takes a different approach on soloing I would try it out. I can't think of many interesting new ways a player can use a pet so I'm a bit skeptical about this job and hearing that it is "the third and final job" kinda disappoints me.

Here's an idea: Puppetmaster+puppet+<mob>=Control (Think Relm). Just an idea that hit me from out of nowhere. Don't know if that's gonna actually have anything to do with what *really* happens, but worth a thought or two. Anyways, regardless, I'm gonna try out the Puppetmaster. I like the thought of having minions running around. (insert evil laugh here). Just my $.02 gil.

what if, by some freaky bizzaro dimension plot twist, puppetmaster is a new TANK!?

hah, I would be totally blown away if that is the case, but i'll be playing it regardless of what kind of job it is. I just have a warm place in my heart for any job with a pet.

That would be sweet! Finally a tank that isn't necessarily melee.
Hmmmmm....think maybe we'll be able to have the puppets self destruct? haha thatd RULE!! ...sorry just let my mind wonder for a minute there...

Well, I got BArd 75, BLM 75, WHM 40, SMN 37, Rdm 37. I am so not thinking about any of these jobs. Corsair, shoots support stuff? Sounds Bard like, Blue Mage, sounds mage like lol and Puppermaster? Sounds Beastmaster to me.

Did they really do any deep development on this? Or are they too busy developing their next game and just throwing stuff at us to keep us occupied in the meantime?

I know, I'm a party pooper!! Just a little frustrated right now. I don't see how this is going to help the shortage of whitemages. As a matter of fact, maybe some of them will level one of these and not be available for high level parties.

Since the announcement I haven't been online for more than 10 minutes. Guess I'm pretty disappointed.

I did, actually, and he was awesome. The difference there is that you were controlling 4 characters and even then all you ever used him for was a free Ultima.

In FFXI you only control the one character, so if you want to cast Thundaga III, you could just play BLM instead of relying on a job that probably doesn't have any MABs or SATAing without any gear swaps.

I'm looking forward to both bluemage and puppetmaster, mostly because they are new and we'll actually get to experiment. Yeah we can GUESS what is the best combination, but until people actually start playing it, no one will know for sure.

Oh and ***** metallica and muppets, Marvin the martian for the win!

god... some of you maybe too young to even KNOW Marvin the Martian

I am so going Puppetmaster.

Corsair... well, with my luck and lotting abilites, I'd probably go bust every time I tried to gamble.

Blue Mage... has always annoyed the bejeezus out of me, trying to get all the different abilities (although SE does seem to have found an astonishingly user friendly way to do it this time).

Puppetmaster just looks so cool and unusual. ^_^

I think the most needed new type of chara in this game is tank - the most common job outside of War is WHM. there are also RDM, SMN, and Bards(in combo with RDM) who can heal. on the other hand, there are only really 2 tank jobs - nin and paladin - war/nin can also be considered, but these 3 are considerably less than healer.

It seems I am always looking for a tank when I play, so If Pup is tank that would be great.

Maybe Puppetmaster is SE's answer to the "bst nerf."

A solo job? ^^

I was hoping for a job that would solve the whm shortage problem. Will any of them give raise 3 or stona?

Puppetmaster doesn't appeal to me, like beast. I'm 37 smn. But bluemage may make a nice sub for my 75 blm. We'll see.
