So, I have 4 characters including mules; they can all log in, except the one in Jeuno, where I just hit R0 instantly. I was even fine logging in next to an event Moogle in Southern Sandy (which is insanely busy), but Port Jeuno? No dice.

*** Update for shaw users ***

Wow, there's a supprise, shaw passed the buck back to POL. They tell me that POL is blocking all IPs in the 24.xxx.xxx.xxx range for some reason. If you can tunnel your connection through your local proxy you should be able to connect. Sounds like a totally dodgy excuse to me, but just reporting what I've been told.

Ok, sounds good. So... How do we do this, if anyone knows, lets give it a go ... =)

I'm almost positive this is POL/SE's fault. Crafty bastards.

Yah I just got done contacting POL over the instant chat and the rep told me that its a problem with any ISP that uses either Shaw or Charter Comunications as a stop point.I then after called my ISP which is Cebrige Communications, the tech support there told me that they don't use either as stop points, and they don't specificaly block any ports.I am getting the dreaded POL-1558 An Authentication error has occured when loging in to POL on my ps2,funny it has been working just fine throu the same ISP for 2 years now.Seems to me that SE has problems going on and they are just passing the buck and can't just come out and say "Hey we have login problems on our side ,were sorry".If they would just come out and say that then I would be fine, just go do something else and log back in tomorrow. It seems some of you guys got the same info, any additions to the issue that anyone knows of I would apreciate it.

Wow, lots of Canadians here o.O

Winnipeg, MB, Shaw, yadda yadda yadda

Zones I R0 in upon entering:
Tahrongi Canyon
Windy Waters
South Gustaburg
Qufim
Ro'meave

Also noticed that in the zones I don't immediately d/c from, the R is abnormally high... wonder if that means anything.

I called Shaw and of course they said it's not a problem on their end, I guess we wait and see what SE has up their dirty little sleeves this time... 20gil says they blame it on DDoS :P

So here I get to sit on the bench in 2 zones away in Zi'tah while my LS kills Kirin... {joy}

<--------- Abbotsford, BC

Haven't been able to get on since 9 o'clock this morning.

I've have to - dear God - study instead.

And I have plenty of Canadians in my LS on Shiva. =)

Just got off the phone with Shaw Tier 2. The problem appears to be infected PCs on Shaw and other 24.x.x.x IPs are slamming POL and other Japanese servers in a DDOS attack. So POL has blocked most 24.x.x.x IPs. Shaw is working to find infected PCs and disconnect them. As Shaw "clears" area they are contacting POL.
